  1. Could have been better, could have been worse. At least there's the novelty of Armenia whom we have never played before. Ukraine are the new Israel who were the new Lithuania who were the new Estonia.
  2. It is true Ersatz. Joe scored three in Serie A (two for AC Milan, one for Verona) He scored ten in Serie B for AC Milan.
  3. Last game of the season during Martin O'Neill's tenure, when the league was already won?
  4. Was it PASTA Mick or someone else on here who for a couple of seasons around 09/10 ran a bet in some format where he lumped on the winnings from each week onto the next week? One season he kept it going until about March before being brought down by a really daft Everton result?
  5. Stonker of a strike from Sean Welsh mind - one of the best hits of the season so far.
  6. Happens all the time at corners and dead balls - defenders try to gain any advantage they can by any forceful means they can disguise. And if you've ever been on the receiving end, it can be bloody painful. WTF Souttar thought he was gaining during that incident marks him out as not being smart - He got a lump of Kyogo there all right, and we'd all go apeshit if he did that v Ukraine and VAR called him out on it.
  7. The more pertinent question is why was Souttar's hand on Kyogo in the first place?
  8. Why is this guy always chosen ahead of Nathan Patterson?
  9. This thread's about Anthony Ralston and not about interpretation of rules. If you have a problem with being pointed to the rules - which are clear - then that's your issue. We have benefited - and also been punished - from the rules against Israel and Moldova. Look it up for yourself. I've no issue with the 10 v 8 games thing - that's up to us to deal with and the best way to deal with it is don't pick up yellow cards. Back to Anthony Ralston - delighted for him, and although he may not get game time this week, I hope his call-up gives an additional boost to his progress. Nothing condescending in that - I hope? Either way - good to talk to you tonight, and hopefully we are smiling after a positive result tomorrow.
  10. Absolutely no condescension expressed or intended. Any perceived condescension is down to your interpretation.
  11. Not sure what your final phrase added to the debate. Was it really necessary?
  12. It isn't ridiculous. It's the rules - and rules that we have benefitted from in this group. If we don't like it - then don't pick up cheap cards like Patterson did on Friday. Sorry - it really is that simple.
  13. Best way is for players not to get booked in the first place. The rules are known beforehand. Let's not pretend otherwise.
  14. Apologies if this question appears tasteless - it is in no way intended as such. How many of the Lisbon Lions and those not selected are still with us? Craig, Clark, Wallace (?). Lennox, Hughes?
  15. RIP Bertie. Panmure Street just lost its finest ambassador. Only got two Scotland caps - but that medal from Lisbon made up that injustice.
  16. If you enjoyed Shuggie Bain then try Free by Lea Ypi, which is about growing up in Albania in the 80's and 90s during the last years of the Hoxha regime and its aftermath. Like Shuggie Bain, it vividly and poignantly describes an upbringing in difficult circumstances, and with occasional humour.
  17. Is asking a question about the player keeping Scotland's right back out of his club team unreasonable?
  18. On what basis is James Tavernier one of the best players in the country??
  19. The dilemma with Patterson is not whether he is better than SOD or Ralston. It is that his club manager does not consider him to be better defensively or offensively than James Tavernier and hence he doesn't get picked. James fucking Tavernier - who no other club is interested in. Let all that sink in and wonder why. Patterson's ability is demonstrable, however it is not sustainable, short-term or long term, for him to be first pick for Scotland while continually getting skelfs on his arse at Ibrox if SOD and Ralston are playing regularly and in decent form.
  20. The issue is the Moldovan Government's pandemic restrictions, something that neither the Moldovan FA or SFA have any control over.
