  1. just to clarify - i am sure that will be the Platform + Advisors Fee's There will also be the Find Mangers Fees inside the individual funds you are invested in which could be 0.3-1.3% type thing - so to get to your 7% you will really need say 9.4% growth in the market to cover potential 2.4% of fees given this is Royal London, they are not discussing giving you a bond or something are they ?
  2. seems high - i thought was lump sum fees not % based I had a DB/Final Salary review on a GBP50K Pension, and the fee was GBP 1,000 (paid by the advisors not me cos they were getting commission ) I would imagine its a hard fight to get a 350K Final Salary Pension Xfer signed off on - mine was straight forward since being my smaller pot
  3. Aberdeen fans saying Calvin Ramsay better player than Patterson and getting more game time to get experience - Everton/Man Utd/West Ham apparently been looking at
  4. watched fight with hispanic friends - they were supporting Tyson as well - WIlder just looked drained after a few rounds even though Tyson looked real fat
  5. just thinking - one of my "investments" is my AF/KLM Airmiles have built these up to 525,000 points, so should be good for 25 Scotland trips
  6. just go - i had that same reservation about going to Latvia/Estonia in 96 and was worried about tickets by hook or crook you will get tickets - even some pissed up TA will give up their tickets to stay in bar i went there last minute in 2002 and was better than the Iceland trip
  7. no - it doesn't as far as i understand - why i asked - i had to get same on a 50K Defined Benefits, but not on the bigger pot from my more recent employment - Financial Consultants paid the fee, due to them hooking me on % of the bigger pot. I'm up 8% this year, although was 15% a week ago - so 100% over the 5 years now - averaging 12% cumulative growth a year - which i guess means nothing without putting numbers to it - Covid took it down 25% for that 3 months in May 20
  8. was that for Final Salary pension or contributions based ? thinking final salary ?
  9. re-reading this - don't be transferring it with your financial consultant " Salesman" paying fees - head to www.iiii.co.uk -
  10. consider www.iii.co.uk (interactive investor ) move your pension there, and lump sum, & draw down - from what i looked into their yearly fees are low, and not punitive don't consider annuity - I consider my pension a life pension, and think will always be in equity (100% growth last 5 years on UK Pension with no new contributions) + wife is 18 years younger so can add her retirement years onto mien 350K is good sum compared to average in UK - Normally folk discuss taking 4% per annum In 10 years time 350K will grow to GBP 1.087M, if you draw down nothing based on 12% growth (what i have paced last 5 years ) I'm living/working in USA just now and can't get head round guys at work thinking they need $2M of savings, not withstanding medicals costs until 67 are expensive I fancy retiring @ 53/54 & then travelling more again, with being swallow, and summer in Scotland and Cape Town following hemisphere summer factor into your will, for beneficiary to inherit the pension as a pension rather than cash - so no taxes although if you die before 75 there is no taxes anyway Making myself non UK tax resident in retirement, i should have no taxes to pay so 20% (ish) benefit to remaining non UK tax resident I still pay 19% of wage into Pension with Employer paying 9% on top
  11. I might have the program for that final with Drew Jarvie signing - uncle gave it to me with his scrarf - so have 40/50 year old scarf

  24. Fancy a hooose (well apartment) https://search.savills.com/property-detail/gbabrsabs180054 keithhall is where i grew up - still have property there - i used to eye up these apartments as a kid - well actually as kid we were visiting from school before the conversion - still eye these up - back in day too expensive but likely could afford now OK - say 12 miles to Balmedie etc, but not that far - not far from dual carriageway to Aberdeen, then bypass etc If you have not been in ABerdeen laterly you will not realise how much of a boon, the bylass is for travelling from north of aberdeen - used to take around 60/75 mins to get to Stobehaven from Invenrurie - now 30 mins
