  1. It was ok. Sparta were a couple of goals ahead from fairly early on and Ziln never really looked like getting back in it, so pretty much killed the contest. I'll look forward to the Bratislava updates :-)
  2. Wubbs, thanks for all the advice. Made it to the Sparta game. Only missed the first few minutes coming from the airport. I'd forgotten how big the O2 was. 10,500 there and still only about half full. Next time I'll try and get tickets nearer the Sparta ultras haha. Need to see if anything is on in Bratislava in October.
  3. My starting line up depending on club form. I expect it to be totally different from Strachan and not much different from most of last campaign. Gordon Hutton Martin Hanley Robertson Fletcher Bannan Snodgrass Fletcher Ritchie McCormack Robertson in for his pace and attacking outlet. I don't feel we need both Brown and Fletcher against Malta. Fletcher gets the nod on recent form for me. Bannan in for directness and ability to find a penetrating pass. I'd have him in both Malta and Lithuania games. Anya has previously struggled against poor teams who sit deep, which I expect Malta to do. His main asset is his pace where he causes problems against a higher line (goals against Germany, Poland and Czech Rep prime example). He's out for this one, with Ritchie for his goal threat and crossing. If Snodgrass can get back to his 2013 form, he's one of the first names on the team sheet. Hopefully after a full pre season he'll be back to his best. I was impressed in the first 25 mins v Denmark how Fletcher helped join up the midfield and striker. For years our lone striker seems to get totally isolated.
  4. Agree Fletcher is our best midfielder. Brown was disappointing last night and looked slow towards the end. McGinn had a great first half I thought. When it comes to the qualifiers though, there are games certain personnel are more suited to. For example id play mcarthur if fit v England, but swap him for Bannan v Malta/Lithuania where we'll need someone more creative to break them down.
  5. Agree. Ritchie seems a breath of fresh air in that regard.
  6. Thanks for update. Been tracking scores last two nights. Tickets sorted for the game :-)
  7. I've given since Georgia. They didnt seem concerned regarding trip there. I donate in Edinburgh. I tried to give on Xmas eve after hearing their advert constantly. Got there at just after 1 to find they'd shut at 1 and weren't open for the next 4 days.
  8. I wouldn't say it's as simple as that. My membership means I can get a season ticket, saving me £30 on public prices for games I'd go to anyway. Also only one lot of postage. Add in the money I've saved with the discount on the strips and I've already got more than my monies worth. Then there's free tickets to u21 games and all manner of other stuff.
  9. Thanks for the update. Our flight doesn't land till about 530 on Wednesday. Was thinking I might get a taxi straight from Airport to the O2. How long do you think that would take? I know you said having bags might slow things down but it would only be some hand luggage.
  10. So how would that work. 5000 people pick up at hampden prior to kick off. Not sure about unreasonable but certainly ridiculous.
  11. I'm not convinced points for home games would make much difference to who actually gets the tickets. It'd also be impossible to monitor misuse of it. That being said. I'm surprised as a way to increase crowds and bring in revenue the SFA haven't done it before now.
  12. Any update Wubbs? Looking good for the game on 23rd?
  13. Haha the champagne. Pretty much all I drank for 3 days. So cheap! We got a taxi from the club we were in back to our hotel. The Cosmos. Took about 10 minutes, although probably cost about 20p. Following morning got up, walked out hotel, and the club was part of it hahaha
  14. http://youtu.be/KSbxC4saxuQ From vague memory and watching that footage, Kaunas definitely gets my vote for worst. I'd love to go back to Moldova and see how it's changed. I spent £70 in 3 days, incl losing about £25 which I hid in my sock so the local police couldn't take it from me.
  15. Struggling to decide which is my favourite. First 3 away games were Westfallen, Amsterdam and Millenium, which was some start to away games and would all have to feature pretty high. Lucky enough to have been to Wembley (new), Emirates, Yokohama and Warsaw as well, which would be the others in contention. Biggest let down was San Siro, other than the away atmosphere. But that sums up my feelings on Milan as a whole. Was also disappointed with Aviva. 4 times I've been now and stuck in bottom tier every time. The view for a modern stadium is aweful. It was also a shambles getting in last June. Worst without out a shadow of a doubt is Kaunas. My wife and I still laugh at the steps and all the Scotland fans toiling up them. Can't remember Chisinau unfortunately. The sparkling wine was nice tho.
  16. Great info Wubbs, thanks. Might be tight for time, but if needs must I'll jump in a taxi from airport.
  17. Great, thanks for the update. I take it the way the fixtures will pan out it will def be in Prague if it goes to game 5? Been lucky over the years seeing Milan Vipers and Olympic Ljubjana in play off matches and the Bruins last time in Prague. Fingers crossed make this as well. I'll look out my Edinburgh Racers top :-)
  18. And I dare say playing a team like Italy will cover the cost of the weeks training camp.
  19. Be nice to know if any games before or after
  20. They do only have three left.... At the moment. There was a recent article saying they were looking for an away game on 29th May.
  21. I booked from Manchester recently. £140 for Friday-Sunday following week. Worth a look maybe
