Agreed. Why is the population of these islands so pathetic and brow beaten? Why do they trust the government so much? We're looking at the very real prospect of food shortages and utility bills going through the roof, but some don themselves in union flags, march through the streets singing rule britannia.

I'll confess. My grandfather was in the orange order. My mum's side of the family hail ( for want of a better word) from bridgeton. I was taken along in the late 70s early 80s to watch him march through the streets. I was aged between 6-9. I was drawn in by the drums. He died and that was the end of that. I'd love to talk to him again and tell him that me and all my cousins are pro Indy republicans. He'd probably die again. Having played drums in a pipe band I find listening to flute bands excruciating.

I was in New York a few years ago and me and the wife (massive Motown fan) walked past BB kings club on times Square. Playing tomorrow, Martha Reeves and the vandellas. Thought, we'll never get tix. But went to the box office, 2 tix acquired. Night of the gig rocked up to the club, fella took our tix and told please wait to be seated. Young lad comes up to show us to our seats in a really busy club and I said, how ye doin'? He replies, where you fae? East Kilbride I replied. I'm fae coatbrig follow me. Sat us at a table front row, absolutely incredible night. My Martha Reeves was outstanding.
