  1. Like a shit stadium like Hampden with a shit atmosphere, yeeeee really
  2. I remember back in 80s when Aberdeen were winning a lot of trophies, Miller, McLeish and Strachan were always booed but with them in the team at least we used to qualify, yes I agree it is a nasty cancer among our supporters, it should not matter who a player plays for it is how he performs in a Scotland shirt.
  3. TBH I am delighted we not got the likes of Morrison and Bannan there....hope the new midfield shine or we at least get a couple of good performances
  4. Jack has played for under 21s at right back. I got no probe about giving mew midfield a chance, but would have liked Cummings up front to see what he can do. Good start so far though...should have scored
  5. As for a defence midfielder....Jack is the only one there if he is not playing right back.....oh well we will find out later on I suppose. Good luck to them anyway.
  6. I am all for giving new players a chance but I really hope this team is wrong, whats the point playing a friendly with no striker, though as I pointed out before Malky only picked two, Cummings and Griffiths. As for Matt Phillips we all know what he CAN'T DO. If there is no place for an in form player like McGinn then I really give up.
  7. Totally agree about Moyes, said he would rather mange a club than Scotland so better off without him.
  8. No, Just what I think may happen.
  9. Looks like McInnes may go to Rangers, and Moyes seems to be linked with every club in England who sack there manager, so we can possibly rule them out. Hop they don't wait too long.
  10. I see Joe Jordan is the latest one to be mentioned as the next manager. Great player for us who gave everything, but his record as a manager not so goo if I remember....shame as I really like the guy. I remember years ago when Eric Black worked with the young Scotland team, he was being touted as a future Scotland manager, but seems to be assistant to numerous clubs but never really in the hot seat.
  11. That's good news, but doubt he will get into the squad in the foreseeable future. I live down in Nottinghamshire now and saw him when he was at Forest, very skilful player with quick feet in the box, although I heard from a few sources he was a bit of a lad away from the pitch and thats why Forest got rid. No major problem as still a young player and I am sure the right manager will get the best out of him.
  12. I see Jamie Paterson being mentioned. Can he play for Scotland ? I looked him up and he was born in England...that's all.
  13. Glad to see some new faces and hopefully they will get some game time. Would have liked to have seen Snoddy and Cairney in the squad but that may still happen. The ones in the squad I am not keen on are Phillips and Jack as a lot of you have mentioned before. I think 2 strikers is a bit thin, can't see why Martin is out of the squad as decent to have on the bench at least. Need to sort out Tierney as he clearly is wasted at right back.
  14. Griffiths was too late, as was Armstrong. Now against Slovania there was no McGinn nor McGregor, which is another prime example of Strachan being stubborn and sticking with the so called tried and tested. Anyone could see when we played Slovakia at Hampden that the midfield area were running out of ideas of how to break down a 10 man team, yet none of the above got near the team for the Slovania game. As for saying he was not worried or did not panic before we got the late goal v Slovakia, then he must of been the only Scot at Hampden that night feeling that way. Another silly quote.
  15. I think Moyes will possibly be offered the job, but not sure what he really brings to the table, apart from doing a decent job at Everton although since leaving them it went all downhill for him. McInnes is a young manager doing a good job at Aberdeen, so I would choose him or O'Neil providing Ireland don't qualify. McLeish was a decent manager for us but returning rarely works out. John Collins could be a decent assistant but the new manager wouldpossibly want to bring in his own team.
  16. Good to see that we all seem to agree who the deadwood are, hope the manager whether it be G.S or someone else does as well
  17. He says this, but persisted with Anya, Forest and Bannon through the campaign.?????????
  18. I would just like to say I have loved posting and reading all the topics since I joined up on here last year, as I realise it is not long now till this site shuts down. I, along with many others will miss posting, especially when the next qualifiers come around and I shall also miss the banter and fun. Does anyone know of an alternative site where we can join up and enjoy the topics. Before and after any match I always come on here to read and post (feck facebook, I have a life) Would be great if we could keep posting and keep in touch. If not then thanks to everyone who kept the site going.
  19. Cheers, make me the manager and you can be my number 2
  20. Totally forgot about Cairney as he been injured
  21. Still feeling so disappointed in the way we went out after doing all the hard work to hang in there. Looking forward what would be your team for the next few games in 2018 I would still like to keep Brown for his experience and as a holding player, but the likes of Bannon, Morrison, and Snodgrass would be likely if at all to sit on the bench. Matt Phillips would not get near my squad. Robertson and Tierney need to be sorted out as Tierney looks out off sorts on the right side so worth a try with Tierney at left back and Robertson left midfield. McGinn or McGregor in midfield has got to happen soon or even both of them in the team I think McGregor in goal is a better option as I do not think Gordon is the keeper he was and does not come enough for crosses. Barry Mckay is another knocking on the door along with Cummings of Forest. Cannot do much about central defence so hoping a couple of new faces come through soon. Here goes McGregor Paterson Tierney Mulgrew Cooper Brown Burke Armstrong McGinn Robertson Griffiths Subs Mcgregor, Snodgrass, Martin, Cummings, Mclean, Mckay, Shinnie, Berra, D.Fletcher
  22. No Mginn or Mcgregor who even now are better than Bannan and Mcarthur, tried and tested midfield were never at the races. Far too late with Fletcher and Snodgrass to change the game. Would have accepted going out if we had tried to have a right go. Bannan, Mcarthur, Phillips out to start with, Mcginn, Mcgregor, Armstrong when fit in the team while Burke must come into it soon. Strachan stuck with the tried and tested who have failed before.
  23. McGregor and McGinn are both in form so lets get at least one of them in the team and stop twatting about with the likes of Mcarthur who has not been good lately. Such a shame to lose two such important players, especially Armstrong.
  24. Only possible player I thought might get called up was Burke, but not too surprised he left in under 21s. Having watched the Villa v Forest game on Saturday I never realised Snodgrass was playing until about 25 minutes into the game. Sadly just not the player he can be at the moment.
