  1. We have an apartment in 5, just by the river. The place is offering airport transfers for 20 euros per person. Strange it it per person and not per vehicle. What is the airport public transport like in terms of speed and price?
  2. On sale now: BA via Gatwick Turkish via Istanbul Still to be released: Wizz air from Luton Wizz air from Budapest Transavia from Amsterdam Transavia from Paris Orly All of these served with regular direct flights from Edinburgh or Glasgow so just one stop. Keep your eyes open for these going on sale.
  3. I'm not even sure McLeish had an offer on the table from the SFA. Granted, he would have got one, but is was done fairly at the end of a campaign and end of contract. I don't want him back as I think there are better options, but no grudges from me. Smith was a bellend and left us in the lurch mid campaign. Zero respect.
  4. No thanks to big Eck. I think if it was going to be him or someone out of work just now, they wouldn't need a caretaker.
  5. Interesting they have appointed a caretaker manager who already works at the SFA. I think this is positive. if they were going to appoint one of the stooges currently out of work they would do it now, and not bother with a caretaker. Let's face it, you can't judge a caretaker on performance in meaningless friendlies. Even if we win them all between now and next summer, it means bugger all. They haven't given Mackay the job FT To me, this means they are putting someone cheap / free in place for now while they wait for the right man to be available. Whether it is after the play offs, at the end of the season or even after the World Cup. It's all pointing to Michael O'Neill. And that will do me. The only thing that scuppers this theory is that it's the fkin SFA we are talking about......
  6. Boycot? Do one. How about this? If the game is on at an ok time for you and you can go to the game, go. If it's on at an inconvenient time, don't go.
  7. They should at least wait until after the play offs...
  8. If foreign I'd go for Michael O'Neill. if Scottish, probably Alex Neil avoid those touted as favourites. We need a fresh start.
  9. Ffs. Some pedantic argumentative bawbags on here. Is that what you do all day, sit on forums trying to pick holes in stuff? I picked out some highlights / moments that I personally enjoyed. of course I wasn't thanking him for being too late in picking Griffiths (and others). The goals v England are up there with my best experiences ever at a football match. And the Germany game was superb. All in my opinion of course. I don't know what you expected gusmarc, but a bit of composure in defence and maybe another ref, we were close to winning that game. And up until Dublin The following year, it was looking good to qualify. Some folk liked him, some didn't. That's fine. I wanted him gone sooner as well, but it won't stop me enjoying the good times. Most of it has been mediocre, with some unacceptable lows. But I won't look back on his reign like those of Levein and Burley. His time had come, he had to go. Say thanks and move on. I shudder when I look at some of the names linked with the job and I hope whoever takes over can build on the last few decent results.
  10. None of the favourites appeal to me. Defo not Allardyce either. Further down the list, Michael O'Neil, Tommy Wright maybe. I'd be amazed if we got a Klinsman or a Ranieri. I'd take the gamble for something a bit different though
  11. I'm highlighting the decent moments to happen over past few years. Griffiths v England is up there as an all timer for me. Of course he was too late calling him up. I don't see anyone disputing the bad decisions and performances. Several pages of the same opinion in fact, which many of you have stated over and over. You need to give some credit for the Poland games - look at what they achieved in that same qualifying group (and since). Or, maybe you don't, I don't give a fck. You can moan about it if you want, but I won't. We lost the place in Georgia and Dublin in last campaign, and v Lithuania H and Slovakia A this time. My expectations were met or exceeded on those other occasions.
  12. TBH I wanted him to go after Faro. I was raging with the Georgia and Dublin performances as we blew it big time. I was even more raging after Lithuania and Slovakia. Amongst all that though, the last 2 campaigns have still been more enjoyable than anything else in the past 10 years and I was simply pointing out some of the positive moments we have had. There are plenty posts and threads about how sh!te he has been. I suppose a lot of you only comment on the sh!te, aye? I've done plenty of that but also give credit where it is due. We are still in a better place now than we were when he took over and it is Scotland we are talking about.
  13. While I agree that it is the right time for WGS to go, I'd like to thank him for some of the special moments over the past few years. While the failures in Georgia and at home to Lithuania were unacceptable - in the approach to the games, the performances, results and the excuses afterwards - there have been some very good moments to look back on, unlike our previous couple of managers. There was hope and promise that came along with playing with guys with pace who were willing to run beyond the striker. That impressive win in Macedonia felt like the start of something good after years of miserable campaigns. We had a real good spirit but failed to go for the jugular and take risks at key times - and ultimately we all missed out. Outplaying Poland in Warsaw the performance in Germany the fantastic win at Parkhead vs the Irish Leigh Griffiths This year's good run Time to move on and get someone else for the national team. Cheers wee man and I genuinely wish you all the best.
  14. Pink. I thought there was a bit of a clash at hampden with the 2 dark tops.
  15. 1. Try not to take the fitba' too seriously. 2. Try not to take the internet too seriously. 3. Try and enjoy trips away and days out and do not drag it down with real life troubles. It's meant to be an escape from all that crap. 4. Avoid the very obvious bait of internet trolls and wind-up merchants. 5. Stop whingin' about stuff that really doesn't matter. If you must whinge, find a forum about austerity or global climate change. 6. C'mon Scotland!!
