  1. If you are not already employed as a Scottish ambassador, perhaps you should contact Ms Sturgeon and make her aware of your apparent talent in this field.
  2. Christie had a great game. Lovely dummy for McTominay sitter miss. Calum McGregor also impressive. Massive game on Tuesday.
  3. Hope we keep focused and go and get more goals. Then bring on McTominay for more experience.
  4. Really good to read this. This should be the norm but well said Morrison.
  5. Disagree, glad to see him back in. Strong, physical presence and can score or play wider if McGregor is deep. Would have called for Rhodes before Fletcher though.
  6. I am hopeful that we can win this group too. I also wonder whether all the players are taking this as seriously as they should. It is a great opportunity and, if this was our position with two games to go in proper Euros qualifying group, I would be delighted with having to get 4 points from these two games. This probably shows that I am not fully respecting this competition myself.
  7. Aye, remember both well. Ferguson was fantastic as was the atmosphere that night at Wembley. remember v Swiss at Villa Park thinking how I had not properly budgeted for or properly considered the next game which I think would have been Old Trafford or Anfield. Probably says a lot about following Scotland even then. Luckily Seaman let in a soft one and it no longer mattered.
  8. That should read I did not go to Haifa dinnae want to bring ISIS intae this
  9. I think it was last night. Not so much the game itself as there have been worse. It was just the realisation of where we actually are, following dreadful Israel game. Isis not go to Haifa. LI took my laddie to a game last night we both knew we would lose. We discussed how many games he had attended where we had actually won. Then I looked across at McLeish, remembered having met him and how nice a bloke he was. I think when I enthused about getting GMS on park was like some sort of trigger to get us both the fuck out of all this and play xbox or something. Had earlier overheard a fat bloke telling his 7 year old grandson: it‘s a beer barrel you want son, not a six pack after the wee laddie had admired the physique of a bloke on the front of a magazine in the newsagent shop near Hampden. I‘ll be all right again tomorrow. Mebbe.
  10. Me too. His dad captained Scotland I think.
  11. I think this whole sorry week was summed up for me when, at 0-3 I turned to the bloke in north stand beside me last night and said, We need to get Gary Mackay- Steven on to run at them.
  12. I think that will be a big must win game and a great night. Surely we can beat them at home? Good one to go to I think. Hopefully a good, positive atmosphere.
  13. No worries, Todd. I am also far too touchy for same reasons! So fekking frustrating as I SAID in my initial post!! i am going with my laddie on Sunday. We can still win group but that was atrocious last night.
  14. Been using the word alluded when appropriate for years. Didn’t realise it was a current buzz word. Didn’t consider how much it could upset someone so much. Hopefully it hasn’t spoilt your evening. Last night upset mine.
  15. Ok. Any other words do your heed (I prefer heid BTW) in? I‘d rather read your comments regarding our consistent failure.
  16. I think that this is harsh; NI and WAles have similar quality or lack of but have achieved much more recently. Last night was abysmal and even if players do not perform to their max, manager should be capable of changing things. Most worrying for me is that this keeps happening and I have genuine fears about our players‘ self belief when playing for Scotland. Many wil poo poo this next bit but I think some sort of counselling may be in order. Did WC semi finalists England not do something like that?
  17. There is a lot in this I think. Remember how, when WGS finally acknowledged value of including core of Celtic team ( winners) and we played much, much better? I mean, Kevin MacDonald goes into each Fulham game this season hoping not to lose. BTW I am not a Celtic supporter.
  18. Agree that we are but that is exactly what needs addressed. TBH not much better at home these days and worry that players fear playing at Hampden more than visiting team. Will be at game on Sunday and fear ugly atmosphere. Have felt in past that support just waiting to start negativity and booing and players sense this too. So if we are notoriously bad travellers and frightened at home, what’s the answer? Craven fucking Cottage? How can things have become so bad?
  19. Not read that one but McPherson covers it and other accommodation foul ups in other campaigns. It goes back even further with Tommy Docherty stating that (in his playing days) they were having to wear heavy jerseys in extreme heat. I worry about players‘ self belief too and, as good a player as Robbo is, is he captain material? it used to be the case that, so long as we beat or drew with England in home internationals, all was well and losing 1-0 at home to Wales or NI 3 days earlier did not really matter. That should not be accepted then or now but I suspect there s still that kind of mindset. Notwithstanding our plunge in ratings, I believe that we should be going to Israel believing we can win- and winning with a solid defensive performance. Pulling that jersey on is very special or should be and 100% should be a given. Even the admission that ‚we did not turn up‘ seems feeble to me. Turning up and giving 100% is minimum requirement. Something remains badly Wrong in the organisation if that is not a misuse of the word.
  20. I have already alluded to this on match thread. This is a consistent problem for us now. We do well, give ourselves a boost and a chance then go away to play opposition we are capable of beating and don’t just lose, but play absolutely abysmally. Georgia twice, Slovenia. Macedonia was first campaign game but still - abysmal. Czech Republic. Having read Archie McPherson book, witnessed some of these performances personally and now been told on radio that team only arrived in Israel on Tuesday night, I conclude that there really is a huge problem and it is chronic. It is more than logistics though and I really do not know why we keep doing this with squad after squad, manager after manager. All answers very welcome.
  21. And i‘ll Tell you something else that utterly sickens me. Admittedly I live in ingerland so that is my own fault. However, we barely get a mention on tv and radio down here in lead up to a match like this. We get beat by Israel and all the smug pussed commentators gleefully announce our defeat and show the goals; Schadenfreude oozing from very pore. Cunts.
