Agreed, how many more people would've died in WW2 if we hadn't taken refugees in? How many more would we have taken knowing what happened? Puts our recent political squabbles into perspective. These people must be fukkin desperate. Having to leave their homes with nothing, hard to imagine being in that position.

We seemed to go into that game with an almost blase attitude. Maybe because we knew a win over Italy would be enough. I remember David Begg the night before describing the game as a "free shot", which annoyed me a bit. The game was a must win to me. I reckon we'd have qualified that night if we'd won, given the extra pressure it would've put on France, who really struggled against Lithuania as it was...

Interesting to hear Gordon Waddell on Sportsound talking about witnessing Feruz close at hand on a Scotland trip. Constant arguments, pulling a full on strop when not picked to play, other players refusing to room with him- especially ones who knew him at Celtic. Certainly didn't come across as a great team player!

Certainly highlights the disparity between the game in Scotland and in England & Wales...
