  1. A few used to appear on Quizball but I guess that's not so random. I seem to remember John Cushley of Dunfermline being brilliant on it. A workmate tells me that Tom Hendrie appeared on 3-2-1.
  2. For Italian, Il Castello has always been one of my favourites and it's just round the corner. The Blue Blazer is good for a post theatre dram
  3. Sometimes all this forum needs is a like button. This is one of these (some)times
  4. I cannae disagree with you (that'll be a first ;-) ) From where I was sitting, Aberdeen won the first half by a mile, Saints lost the second half. I've been saying for weeks that oor goalie needs to have a word with himself. My pals are beginning to agree with me after today's performance. Aberdeen thoroughly deserved the win, and probably should have won by more (a 5-1 revenge soreline wouldn't have flattered you) But, cor blimey, the last time I saw a ref blow up for full time in the situation he did was the Welsh guy (Clive Thomas?) in the World cup in a game where Brazil scored. Saints player, bearing down on two Aberdeen players in the box, one defender just about to pull him down when the whistle goes. Weird.
  5. I'm on the train from Edinburgh (changed at Stirling) and it's packed with Dons fans. :-(
  6. From a selfish point of view, I’m glad it’s at Tynecastle. I can wander down to the game, meet my mates in the Prison club that their bus is booked into, and have a wee bevvy before the game. But, I agree with you. I think the blame of the ticket situation lies firmly at the door of St. Johnstone's bargainers. . St Johnstone should have said “We want 6000 tickets and, if we can’t sell them, then Hibs can get the rest”. Rather than, “Can we have 3 thousand odd and, if we have demand for a wee bit more, can we get a wee bit more tickets.” In short, in my opinion, it’s our board’s and therefore the chief (Steve Brown) fault that our fans can’t get to the game
  7. Aye, but the demand is bigger this time. Probably (rightly or wrongly) the expectation is bigger.
  8. Oops, to continue, I'll be wearing my lucky t shirt (the one I wore to the Ibrox semi final) I'll be heading back home for a wee drink after the game. I'm not predicting a score cause I'm usually wrong.
  9. I think it may be St Johnstone's fault for underestimating the number of people who would be after a ticket. I'm meeting my pals off their bus which is booked into The Prison Officers Club next to Tynecastle
  10. I understand they are saying it's the worst in 100 years. But it's not happening in this country, and other countires have it worse, I might (just) understand if it was tagged on at the end of the news, but it was the major topic. What makes me question it even more is that the pictures they show are pretty insignificant when compared to what I've seen every so often in Dunkeld.
  11. He is not a striker. He only happens to score the odd goal here and there. Usually against pish teams
  12. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35273252 Aw, I used to like Junior Chioce. It's where I first heard Hole in the Ground by Bernard Cribbens and My Brother by Terry Scott. along with this absolute classic
  13. So do I. I get that annoyed when Saints do it. Let the ref and his assistants decide if the game needs to be stopped. If it gets stopped, lets have good old fashioned stramash at the drop ball.
  14. I just did (well, since the football is off I have some time on my hands) and the first 3 I watched tied them in 3 different ways. And none of them was the same as I would do it.
  15. I'm busy listening to some tunes. This one came on and I thought about this thread. If in doubt, listen to The Carpenters
  16. Mine came out saying I should be Lithuanian (3rd biggest drinkers in the world). That's where the wife is from and, although she doesn't drink, I guess her relatives driniking habits have rubbed off on me
  17. Well, risking saying more than I should, I met a lovely LT girl in 2006 who moved over here in 2008. We go back to visit her parents quite often and they stay quite neat Kaunas.
  18. I'm listening to this countdown https://www.mixcloud.com/owenandrew/retro-countdown-1973-12-15-uk-top-40/
  19. I have to admit, I've only been in Kanuas 2 or 3 times a year since 2006. There are lots of places in Kaunas I've not managed to visit so I dont feel as qualified as you others who appear to have been in every part of every street in Kaunas so I bow to your greater knowledge
  20. Anytime I’ve seen a ref pacing out the 10 yard they only take normal steps. A yard is quite a long stretch, especially for some of the short erse refs. Effectively, they are only pacing out 7 or 8 yards.
  21. Kinnoull Club in Perth was always my starting point when going out with my pals. Work nights out were always held on a Thursday, starting off at The Windsor and ended up at The Grampian for Grab a Granny night. When I moved to Aberdeen it was usually Gabriels we went to. I even found myself in Champers after an Aberdeen Saints game where I bumped into Neale Cooper
  22. I remember when they used The Scottish League Cup to experiment moving offside from the centre line to the 18 yard box. Saints got some right hammerings in the group stages.
  23. I've often wished the league sections were re-introduced. I just hope Saints don't have to particpate in them ;-). Penalty shoot outs for drawn matches sounds quite exciting too
