  1. Is the club stuff not just a way of saying where you are from ? Edinburgh in Scotland or whatever same as Granite city tartan army or whatever. Often club football comes up in chat between scotland fans anyway, for "football" fans this is not a problem as long as we are all supporting the same team.
  2. If staying in queens road the the Gordon Highlanders is an easy walk. I think the maritime museum is free and is close to union square and other shops so you can split up for an hour or two. Bars near queens road - Dutch mill, dizzys , number 10 & albyn.
  3. Anyone know when the friends fare tickets are available from scotrail ? Couple of months before ?
  4. Kenny McLean's turn for the token don. Shinnie, Reynolds, Jack and Pawlett have had their chance. Andy Considine next time.
  5. I am loosing the faith. Any manager might have favourites but their are guys who have been taken into the squad and never got a game. So you think they must get a game next time in a meaningless friendly. No. Not in the squad. Just can't fathom what he is doing with bringing players into squads with no intention of ever actually picking or playing them.
  6. Where can I find the table, looked for it yesterday and could not find it ? Cheers
  7. Thanks exactly the advice I needed. So he is right in that he needs his own tools but doesn't need to spend a fortune straight away. He has a basic toolbox with a number of pieces that he bought, spanners, socket set and some sort of 90 piece torq box. So that would get him started and he could build up over time. He is really keen and I want to encourage him but he can go a bit over the top. Thanks.
  8. Oldest says if he wants to be a mechanic and he has to have his own tools costing £1000 +, he does go to college but is not at the job stage yet. Is this true or is he just wanting to buy a heap of tools to sit in the shed ? If you work at a garage are you expected to have some of your own tools or does it vary from company to company, garage to garage ? I assumed your employer supplies your tools but never worked in a garage so ? So basically is this true or is he at it ?
  9. Not sure, just to keep them away from those who have no interest. Part of me thinks it may be possible to manage an area safely and the bigger part of me doesn't want them there. Don't actually see what the add to atmosphere. Always a concern they could be lobbed over a fence into the home/away support too.
  10. Just don't see the point. Never thought wow...look at the flares. If it's not allowed and people continue, it will just lead to more searches/stewards/fines, more inconvience and possibly cost for everybody. All for stuff like fireworks on the pitch along with those flame thrower things you get at the rugby though. Maybe have a pyro section for those that want to indulge ?
  11. Was over there last year for a stagger and had a great time. Depending on what you want from a stagger good mix of nice bars and RL Area if you want it. Would not say there were streets lined with bars, but plenty of bars to be found. Sachsenhausenis that might be where hooters is ?, it was a quite lively area short walk across the bridge.
  12. Aye, did not read the topic properly. Was thinking of a substitute but most Scottish bands have a pretty low profile anyway.
  13. For a group of guys check out craggan outdoors and g2 for highropes, kayaking etc. Santa Claus land, thats bringing back childhood memories... an ice-rink an a wasn't there.
  14. Suppose the first thing would be to establish what state scottish football is in and how this is measured. Are we talking football or the business side ? Anecdotally I would say the standard has risen but we have less stand out players. I haven't seen a lot of youth coaching but it seems their might be a conflict/imbalance between team skills and individual skills. Would like all kids to have access to free pitches/areas they can play on. In my day you could just walk about the local area and always find a game you could join in. Now it seems there is nowhere to play or you have to pay. Certainly it is not as easy.
  15. Your computers will probably get the DNS settings from the router, your i phone may not get this in the same way. Don't know, ruling out if they have the same dns settings may help. You can put in the google dns into the laptop through the network in the control panel and see if it fails with this or just compare the settings to see if the same or not. Although I would think other sites may not work if it was a dns issue. If it doesn't happen when you use your laptop on another wifi you would think it would relate to the home hub being the issue, if bt can't help you would have to try a reset on the router or swap with another.
  16. ? At a guess something goes wrong with DNS settings on the hub. There are a few other things you could do to narrow the problem down but probably going to end up at the router. If possible do a factory reset on the router and see if any different.
  17. Is their any message or does it just freeze or say page unavailable ? Does sound odd. The other thing to try would be when down try typing in 83.223.101.90 in your address bar to see if you get anything or nothing loads.
  18. Just to confirm, When the tamb stops loading, you reboot your laptop and you can get on other webpages but still cannot get on the tamb. Or after rebooting the laptop no webpages load ?
  19. There's a joke somewhere there about a similar sign for parent & child parking. That is my point though, the parking is provided for someone else but you choose to use it as it more convenient for you. I bet your local golf club and bowling club love you. They love a reserved space.
  20. Think it is selfish people ? Those who drop litter, park in disabled/double yellow lines/child spaces, swear repeatedly in front of kids at football, get served first at the bar after you were there five minutes earlier, sit on your allocated seat trains/football/concerts, etc.

  22. No expert but since no other replies:- We were in Rome earlier in the year and ate at Ristorante Alle fratte across the river inTrastevere, was pretty good and that area seemed to have a few good bars and Osteria Barberini was a quieter more romantic type restaurant, five mins from the spanish steps. Also ate a place called cantina e cucina off a side street near piazza novona. All we had was pizza but seemed a lively sort of place. We would probably go back to any of these again. ,
  23. See they spent £250,000 trying to quash the sport direct deal also. I suppose its only a couple of weeks wages ! Agree with ShedTA, too much cloak and dagger legal stuff. A total fresh start I think is the only way forward.
