  1. Just the usual. At every election I expect us to do well then try and kid on we did OK. A wise person told me that everything over 11 is an improvement however I really would like to see Labour wiped off the map as far as Westminster goes. They are a millstone around Scotland's neck.
  2. Was that an SNP rally ?? I thought Tommy Sheridan and others had organised that one.
  3. They say the bookies aren't often wrong and a quick check of the odds for those seats would suggest we should be OK. I hope.
  4. That is obviously a concern however another factor that is also overlooked is that I'd be surprised if any canvassing was being done of those that the SNP know for certain are going to vote for them.
  5. They talk about how embedded Labour are in Glasgow and the west but if the SNP can take this seat then its a walkover. Jo Grimond's legacy still lives on in that seat.
  6. Legal highs are currently causing a lot of problems in mental health services. Not just with new referrals but with people who already have a mental health problem.I worked in substance abuse a good few years ago and the current legal highs weren't about in those days. I know services are struggling to keep up with what is being sold at the moment.
  7. Also remember the old guy, always wore his kilt and cape and always had a supply of the Scots independent. Don't remember him saying very much would just walk up and offer you a copy of the paper.
  8. He seems to make up policy as he goes along. Like promising school leavers who aren't going to university £1,600. Is that UK policy or Scotland only ? he increased his party's policy on the min wage during the debate. He is one creepy character who really fits the bill of a snake oil salesman.
  9. "Sturgeon in coalition talks with martians to take over earth"
  10. The policy on methadone has changed. Previously there was an expectation that users had to reduce on a regular basis and provide "clean" urine samples . That appeared to change some years ago with users being placed on maintenance methadone though of course could still reduce if they wished. I've been out of the field for a number of years so not completely sure what happens at the moment.
  11. My kilt is the Co Cavan tartan ,but I don't suppose there will be any tartan experts among the stewards.
  12. Currently many of the benefits for areas of England are being handled in Scotland. It may just mean workers transferring to the Scottish Government. However there have been rumours for a while of parts of the welfare system being privatised.
  13. Heard that as well.It was like the questions didn't matter as he wasn't going to answer them. He just kept repeating the biggest party forms the government which is a lie.
  14. Tickets arrived 5 minutes ago.Hadn't expected them for ages yet.
  15. The SNP did try before to reform local taxes. If I remember rightly the problem came from trying to factor in benefits. The Westminster Govt would not pay the £400 million council tax benefits that were being paid at the time. An example of the importance of local government is the impact on the NHS. It falls on local govt to play a major part in clearing "blocked beds" in the NHS. I know the Scottish govt are trying to sort out the funding arguments between the NHS and local authorities however it shows the power that certain local authorities have over NHS figures.
  16. So those of us with the cheap tickets for this area,is there a cash bar ????
  17. Should be ashamed of yourself.Read this. Then get out on your bike http://velonews.competitor.com/2012/10/analysis/from-the-pages-of-velo-remembering-hardman-fiorenzo-magni_262015
  18. My bizarre alternative is Achill Island, likely be teaming with Scotland supporters .Train through to the game on the Saturday. Though will have to manage Sat night in Dublin train back to Craggy island on Sunday.
  19. What about this possibility . http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/feb/10/labour-snp-coalition-ulster-unionist-leader-dodds
  20. Hermless by Michael Marra ,just sums Scotland up at the moment.Might change soon though
