  1. Have to say having VAR for this game is great for Scotland, my first thought was the officials might give something they don’t normally?? But VAR should eliminate any decisions that are controversial as the Ref will be under scrutiny……..
  2. They won’t be interested in Poland away, will be a ‘B’ Team that starts !! Wales only interested in that 2nd fixture, World Cup PlayOff But I’m glad they have to travel to Poland which is an inconvenience for them in reality prior to the big showdown with either Us or Ukraine, where as Scotland will already be home before any travels required….
  3. 100% agree - seeing Scottish Players playing in Europe at very high level, would be great for them to reach the Final but there is a BUT With Scotlands Semi-Final date on Wednesday 1st June I’m sure it would be more beneficial to Scotland if they didn’t make the Final, A.Robertson and R.Jack are the only 2 that spring to mind but from a selfish point of view I’d like all our players to be rested and meet the rest of the Scotland Squad on the Monday after the Scottish Cup Final…..
  4. Stephen Kingsley - Not a chance when Leeds Utd Captain Liam Cooper will fill that exact role, left footed Centre Half and back to full fitness thankfully
  5. The Welsh equivalent to the TAMB also saying - PlayOff Semi-Final Scotland v Ukraine Wednesday June 1st PlayOff Final Wales v Scotland/Ukraine Sunday June 5th
  6. Was Billy Gilmour suspended / injured / out of favour today ?? Had a wee look for the reason but unable to find out……
  7. Aye, here’s hoping both of them are fit for June 🤞🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
  8. Arsenal injury news: Kieran Tierney has surgery on knee injury in bid to return for World Cup qualifier Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has successfully undergone surgery on the knee injury that is expected to keep him out for the rest of the season. Tierney had surgery on his left knee yesterday after complaining of discomfort in it during a training session last Thursday. The Scotland international missed Monday’s defeat to Crystal Palace and he is expected to be out for the rest of the season. Tierney’s surgery, however, has been a success and that will boost his hopes of being fit for Scotland’s World Cup play-off semi-final against Ukraine in June. “Op went well. Thank you so much for all the messages of support. Really appreciate it” Tierney wrote on Instagram late last night. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta faces a dilemma as to how he replaces Tierney in his defence, starting at home to Brighton tomorrow.
  9. A fantastic player IMO and has almost been an ever present in the Scotland U21’s Had a loan spell over in Holland and now with Lincoln City and getting great reviews but there will come a time he has to step up to the next level, will be hard for him to break into that Manchester City Team though and I dare the Scotland 1st XI
  10. I think the sensible solution is to play the World Cup Play-Off game against Ukraine on Tuesday June 7th when the Nations League game was already scheduled and move that fixture to a later date in the year! ( Tuesday not Saturday ) md1976 what your proposing is logical but also but plays into the hands of the Welsh as they will play a 2nd string team the night we play the Ukraine, we all understand why and what FIFA have done but going forward, Scotland (if we win) will be at a disadvantage!!
  11. I haven’t read anywhere from Arsenal saying he might not make pre-season All we can hope, is the damage not as bad as the tabloids and many people making out! Let’s keep our fingers crossed, the quote below is what the Club have to say on the matter - Kieran Tierney Left knee. Kieran felt discomfort after a training session on Thursday, March 31. Further assessments and scans have confirmed that Kieran has damaged his left knee. A specialist consultation took place on Tuesday, and as a result of further discussions with Kieran and our medical team, it has been decided that Kieran requires surgery to his knee. This procedure will take place in London in the forthcoming days. Kieran’s rehabilitation programme will start immediately after his surgery, at which stage a clearer understanding will be established on his recovery timescale. However, it is likely that Kieran will now miss the remainder of this season. Everyone at the club will now be supporting and working hard with Kieran to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible.
  12. The allocation for the Play-Off Final if Scotland won the Semi-Final was 1670 We secured an additional 1000 Tickets in the event Wales lost to Austria, we can all hope we do get an allocation of 2670 but that’s wishful thinking on our behalf - Scottish and Welsh FA’s might wiggle a few more our way but canna see it…… Not sure what stand capacity and/or segregation is
  13. I think the sensible solution is to play the World Cup Play-Off game against Ukraine on Sat June 7th when the Nations League game was already scheduled and move that fixture to a later date in the year! As to fairness in amount of matches being played and Wales being advantaged by resting the 1st Team prior to the Final, I’d say the Final would have to be the first fixture in September, thus a level playing field for both Finalists and the Nation League fixtures would have to be juggled / rearranged to accommodate this……
  14. If Nathan Patterson doesn’t make the Play-Off fixtures then I’d say Hickey has a very good shout to start at RB position. SOD has been a great servant to Scotland and will now be squad player IMO Another alternative and would not be surprised in the slightest is if Tino Livramento gets called into the Squad, has said he’s eligible to play for Scotland with with having a Scottish Mum. He’s not even close to getting an Engerland call up with the riches they have in that position - similar to our LB situation! Steve Clarke would be daft not to have him in his sights and with Armstrong & Adams both at Southampton with him, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility
  15. Can’t possibly have been Craig Levein as the post said fairly respected coach😉 But Hickey could be extremely valuable for the next few games for Scotland if his form continues
  16. With this Stadium capacity at 40,000 who many Tickets will be offered to each Country? More precise, how many Tickets for Scotland/Ukraine/Wales ??
  17. Wales wanting the biggest home support and advantage, you can’t blame them I suppose but if Scotland get past the Ukraine then IMO I’d rather play Austria I think….. Bales returning from injury and Ramsay getting 10 games with Rangers to gain match sharpness / fitness, still scarred from previous encounters against them! Away to Austria in Vienna, stadium holds 52,000 approx so could possibly get 3,000 - 4,000 tickets
  18. I had it in my head that for a World Cup Qualifier it was a 10% Ticket allocation to away fans? But it seems 5% is being mentioned/said, maybe it used to be years ago?? Looking at the Cardiff City FC website it mentions - ( Away fans are located on one side of the Grange Stand and the corner with the Ninian Stand. Up to 1,800 fans can be accommodated in this area ) The Stadium holds 33,280 so by applying the 5% rule this is 1,664 and they could say we’ll give you the 1,800 allocation but read an interesting article about Wales and Ireland for World Cup Qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup. The Welsh allocated 3,500 Tickets to the Irish Fans muting a gentleman’s agreement of 10% was usually applied. Let’s see how things develop, have to win against the Ukraine first and foremost!!
  19. Scott McTominay of late has played really well for Man Utd, think he’s had a few MotM with some consistent displays
  20. Haven’t seen or heard of this youth goalie at Celtic ?!? Rory Mahady, I believe he went to Celtic as a 7year old from Burntisland Shipyard. I’m assuming he’s Scottish and has played in Victory Shield but that’s not to say he’s ours…… Manchester City have kept a 'very close eye' on Celtic talent, Rory Mahady, with the Blues sending scouts to watch him on 'several occasions'
  21. Be careful for what you wish for, admittedly they are defo due one from us but at this precise moment/time this is a fight I’d rather avoid……. We’ve got the Home Semi-Final which is Huge and fingers crossed the draw is kind to us, to get some luck and the winner of our Semi-Final to get the home advantage (fingers crossed) Of the unseeded Teams, I hope we avoid Poland, Czech Republic + Turkey Of the seeded Teams, in the same Path as us I’d want to avoid Italy, Portugal and Wales But just happy to have the Home Semi-Final first and foremost, Scotland will be glued to the Tele a week Friday
  22. Looking more and more likely that 15 points with a better GD will get you seeded Haven’t done the Math’s as my heed is hurting with too many permutations but 14pts unlikely to get you seeded now ??
  23. Was looking at that permutation in Group.H and these games are tomorrow night ! Like you say, prey Russia win by 2 goals against Croatia and hope Malta have a heavier defeat than Cyprus do ( Too many permutations ) Let’s just go out and take care of things ourselves and skelp Denmark on Monday
  24. Currently the Czech Republic have 11 pts and +3 GD and Scotland have 14pts +5 GD Can’t see the Czechs losing at home to Estonia in final game !? The thing is, they will know what score line they need for play off seeding, as they play on the Tuesday…..
  25. Never saw that result coming but didn’t realise Haaland out injured which didn’t help Norway’s cause ! Hoping Holland draw away to Montenegro, means they have to beat Norway on Tuesday (good for Scotland) And as mentioned, Wales to drop points tonight
