  1. Just said that to my wife. You can't abolish the need for food banks.
  2. Why was Ponsonby bringing up 2016? Nothing to do with that at all.
  3. Refused to pay me the tax they are due me. Because I also do self-assessment they say I have to fill in the 14/15 self assessment to get any refund due me!
  4. I used to work beside the wee girl's mum (right of photo). Staunch SNP and YES. Her dad has the Declaration of Arbroath tattooed on his back.
  5. With hindsight I feel this was a trap. Not for the SNP, but for people like Hothersall, Dugdale and Foulkes. Get them to shout about this from every available rooftop then, when they're in a frenzy, let it be known that it was fabricated. Jumping on an obvious lie looks really childish and petulant. The fact it went all the way to Milibland makes it even worse. Didn't the PM if Spain do this after a terrorist attack. He went from election favourite to defeated in the space of about three days.
  6. Thanks guys. Will check my P60 and that site tomorrow. But it looks like I'm due a decent refund, plus, if I'm not mistaken, I should get a 12th of £2,000 every month added to my wage, so about an extra £166. Happy days. Wonder how many folks on here will get a refund due to this thread.
  7. Thanks. Both list BR. Knowing my luck I'll get nothing, but £2,000+ will be nice. Flights to Florida paid for!
  8. Thanks. I have two part-time jobs, both paying over £10K, but not quite at the £40K mark. And Euan, yes, My reckoning was about £2,650. Thanks .
  9. Wonder if someone can help. I started a job last January, and then a second job in August. Just happened to check my tax codes today and both are BR, which appears to mean that I don't get a personal allowance. Does this mean that I should be due a refund?
  10. Peter Kellner of YouGov saying that amongst entrenched voters Nicola their poll was much the same as the other pollsters. Where she ran away with it (both in Scotland and across the UK) was amongst those who haven't settled on a party yet.
  11. http://news.sky.com/story/1457822/nicola-sturgeon-wins-leaders-debate-poll
  12. Ed Miliband - the socialist who pronounces 'years' as 'yuurs'. How can anyone vote for this tube?
  13. To be fair, Germany, Poland and Ireland have all played them nobody has scored more than seven. IIRC Germany only scored four. They are, however, a team that someone, somewhere down the line, will utterly destroy, scoring well into double figures against them. Three points.
  14. Was at a meeting yesterday and a representative from the Tate was there, saying they'd been banned.
  15. The Labour guys were even trying to convince me they were worried about their pensions. The lie was so deeply embedded in the campaign that in many cases they came to believe it themselves.
  16. Is James Kelly really as thick as he sounds? He might actually have a 180 IQ, but his monotone soundbites mean that I stopped listening after about three seconds. Dire stuff, and the reason that Scottish Labour is on death row.
  17. And the black armband debacle is just the latest. Surely people will think they're mourning the demise of Labour in Scotland. http://wingsoverscotland.com/the-black-armbams/
  18. It wasn't publicised as Labour won, and not even sure if it would have been counted. I'll check.
  19. In the recent Midlothian by-election there were 100 Tory transfers. 75 went to the Labour Party, 25 to SNP.
  20. Ok, so you type in your first name followed by Glamour Shots. Choose the worst (or best perhaps) you can find. Here's mine (btw she's only 44):
  21. David Clegg and Kevin McKenna calling him for it this morning on Sunday Politics Scotland. Clegg, especially, was quite vociferous in his dislike of the guy, saying he had heard other things like this from him in private.
  22. Flora, a few folks have mentioned volunteering. If you're interested in Scottish social history and fancy some volunteer work connected to it, which can be done in your own time at home, just give me a shout. It's not the most exciting work, but it might give you some structure and also looks good on a CV.
  23. Yes they do. I'd be having a word with him for putting that review on. Bad reviews are annoying, and they are often picky for ridiculous reasons, but that's life. They're also useful when approaching future publishers.
