  1. I expected to enjoy Vikings as it was really popular but I honestly thought the first episode was rubbish , maybe didnt give it long enough. I watched it immediately after Game of Thrones which I suppose was always going to be tough to follow. My husband and I actually used to laugh at how ridiculous some of the storylines were in Designated Survivor and kept saying ‘ right, this is utter shite we are not watching anymore’ . Then we would watch another episode at the weekend when we had a drink and before you know it we are sucked in and zombified into enjoying it . Watched the first series of Killing Eve but didnt like the two main female characters , the ninja type one i particular, so never bothered watching anymore. That would definitely be in my ‘series not worth watching ‘ list. However , like Vikings, it was very popular, so probably more just a matter of personal taste than being a shit programme.
  2. Absolutely. Lets pay an arm and a leg in shipping and fuel costs to import from the other side of the world instead of transporting goods 6 hours on the M6. Just to get it up them Jocks.
  3. Its a bit more difficult as most shit shows are instantly forgettable, plus I usually give up on them rather than watch them through. The one I can remember being shit was Vikings, the acting was awful , only lasted one episode. Designated Survivor was pretty shit too but somehow I saw it through and grew to enjoy it more.
  4. Thought the book was better than the series but read the book first which often influences you. The series was a good effort though, I still enjoyed it.
  5. 😁 Crystals is well named. Its like the shortbread equivalent of Walter Whites blue meth.
  6. I am addicted to it too. Along with wine gums and skittles. Try Crystals shortbread for a treat . Its lovely. https://martfarmshop.co.uk/product/chrystals-shortbread-box-300g/ Morrisons ‘the best ‘ is also very good.
  7. The good old textbook explanation that uber capitalists like to churn out to make themselves seem a bit better about themselves . Problem is , in real life, things rarely work the way the text book says they will, particularly when wealthy greedy bastards still try to avoid what little tax they are asked to pay and the wee guy has to suffer instead. I had hoped you were a genuine poster who really was undecided about independence but I am convinced you are here mainly on the wind up. The tunnocks teacake post on the biscuit thread convinced me 🙄 And if the average household bill rises to £10k a year I will not only run round the buff in my village I will pay for the heating on your big hoose. Pure hysteria. Unless of course you are assuming everyone lives in a £500 k+ house.
  8. Fishing is not something that is on the forefront of most peoples minds. Oil will have played a part in swaying some people but we keep getting told its running out . Water is a life essential. I cannot see people giving that up without a fight .
  9. All sorts of people want independence, not just lefty woke. Scotland will never get a better opportunity to shake up the political system. Nothing will ever change in the UK.
  10. I am genuinely surprised you have lived in Scotland for so long as there really has never been a party even close to your political leanings, cant be easy to make a choice. I know there is a lot more to life though than who runs the country at any given time, and its for that reason I think most people who threaten to leave Scotland if we get independence will do absolutely heehaw. I have said it a million times, independence is likely to bring a far better balance of political representation than we have now, but to get there you need to stick with a party that will deliver it in the first place.
  11. I have never heard of a purse worn under a dress or sitting in that position ? A purse or small bag would normally hang cross body which would mean the bulge is slightly to the side. Or does she have a pocket in her knickers for the purse ? Or the purse is tied round the waist and dangling at the front ? This is a fascinating fashion I have yet to discover 😁
  12. 😂 that is definitely doctored . Most women would avoid a clingy dress like that if they had simply scoffed a large helping of sticky toffee pudding, never mind trying to disguise a sausage supper.
  13. #Bettertogether broadcast on behalf of Sky News. JRM given his platform totally unchallenged.
  14. Was Mr Tidys 60 th birthday yesterday and the first time he has been unable to complete it 😢 I got it on my 6th go but only because I had 4 letters and just battered in every letter till I got it . I didn’t even know it was a word 😁
  15. I think that could be the thing that finally makes voters sit up an notice. Nothing says ‘raping our natural resources’ like taking the water from under our noses.
  16. I am sitting in the garden and someone or something is whistling. Its the most tuneless whistling I have heard in my entire life. I don’t know if its a neighbour or a bird. Its constant so I think it must be a bird.
  17. Yeah, they were like Smith square crisps 😁 😂 no, it wasn’t . And you had to eat them whilst they were still warm as they they tasted like shit when they cooled down. Especially if you used blocks of cooking fat and not oil in the chip pan.
  18. I remember when I was in my teens there was a Sunday market in Paisley . It sold all sorts of shit, it would be shut down by health and safety these days, but I remember buying bags of wee square hard things and when you put them in the chip pan they expanded to about 5 times their size , they were a bit like prawn crackers but were square shaped. It was like a magic trick 😁 Anyone remember them ?
  19. Buy 2 ! The only biscuits i can think of with pink or yellow icing is Party Rings . They must fall into the ‘worst ever ‘ biscuit category, at least for anyone over the age of 10 😁
  20. Borders biscuits are very good. Chocolate gingers and the lemon drizzle ones I think I mentioned earlier are particularly nice, but the shortcake ones with the raisins are good too. Wtf , did you get M&S biscuits in the 70’s ? You must be posh. We got Presto’s own brand. Dont think I tasted a kit kat till I was about 25. Good shout. But have to be careful not to let them go soggy.
  21. Have you tried a comparison website like Compare the Market ? That might take some of the work out of it for you.
  22. 😂😂 Celts was my first go. For a nanosecond thought I had my first ever ‘win in one’.
  23. I was almost caught out today by one of those issues . Wee hint for anyone who hasn’t done it yet…
  24. That is a great run 😁 You are brave doing it before bed, my head would be bursting if I couldnt get it .
  25. The 3+4 and 5+6 is a good way to look at it. I sometimes think walking away for a couple of minutes helps when you are struggling . Its amazing how a break can make your mind clearer. I tend to do it on the train on the way home from work and sometimes I forget until I am 5-10 mins to the journey then I am under pressure to finish it !
