  1. 😂😂 of course I dont bloody come on here to see who has quoted me. FFS. Surely you must see I was taking the piss ? For the record, I wasnt being serious anout Timy Tim gaslighting me either. .... Or have I been whooshed....😕
  2. Oh, and there is no ‘edit’ function. Just noticed I typed ‘bit or miss’ instead of ‘hit or miss’ and cant edit it.
  3. On Saturday I simply stumbled on them as I was in a thread and noticed someone had quoted me. I hadnt been get any ‘pop up’ notifications and couldnt see the notification box. Yesterday I started getting the pop up notifications but still no actual box. I am on a mobile too. However , the pop up notifications seem to be bit or miss. I got 3 notifications of one post where someone had quoted me, but I didnt get a pop up notification for your quote at all, I just noticed you had quoted me when I was reading this thread. I spend too much time on here as it is, I cant afford to spend even more time scouring threads to see if anyone has quoted me. I didnt get notification of the googly eyed reaction that someone gave me either, though that has now disappeared. It might never have been there in the first place right enough , I may just have had too much to drink on Saturday night . Or it may have been that bloody @Tiny Tim trying to gaslight me. He’s got form for it.
  4. Not sure which part you are referring to , they are 2 separate points : To wait another generation to rate the thread again. I got a notification from you on my post today. I wasnt getting these yesterday so the problem must have been fixed.
  5. 😂 looks like we will need to wait another 25 years, or for another reincarnation of Bonny. But I did get a notification alert today ! 👍
  6. I dont know, I have just stumbled upon my notifications.
  7. I only got on as I never sign out 😁 I only ever sign in when I get a new phone. Back in the olden days when people travelled to work it took so long to get connected to Scotrails wifi , and then sign in, I would just stay signed in permanently to save a bit of time. Its just a habit now.
  8. I am away to resurrect all my old threads and give them 5 stars. 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 Has the Rangers in Crisis thread had another fancy new name yet ?
  9. Sorry @Debian I inadvertently hit the rating on this thread to see if it actually worked and you only got 2 stars. I cant change it and have dragged the average right down 🤣
  10. Who is giving the threads a rating ? This one has 5 stars and it only has one post. The poor wee Coronavirus thread has 187 pages only has 1 star. Must be because @WCTAstarted it. I am away to give it a good rating. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃
  11. 😂 phew. Every time I hear Waterloo by Abba I come out in a cold sweat due to a very embarrassing performance on stage 15 years ago 🤦‍♀️
  12. On the plus side it will stop me stalking every member of the board . With the increased distance between the thread title and the OP, even my big fat fingers wont click on their name by mistake.
  13. Based on what I am hearing from people I know, covid has been, and still is, the thing that is making people swing behind the SNP. I honestly cannot believe the changes in the attitude of friends and family who have previously really disliked Nicola Sturgeon. My sister is a nurse, my closest friend works in 2 care homes and another friend in a funeral directors. None of them liked her. All thought she was a nippy sweetie and never shut up about independence. I was out with them a couple of weeks ago and they have all completely changed their opinion of her mainly based on her daily briefings. Was in St Andrews the other day and sitting outside having lunch. Table next to us were 4 women talking pretty loudly and the subject moved onto Nicola Sturgeon. Exact same thing. One of them said she voted No last time but between Brexit and how NS has conducted herself during this, that she was visible and showed empathy, she had changed her mind and next time she would vote Yes . Was out with a no voting friend yesterday who admitted she would never have voted for independence. She said next time she would be taking it more seriously due to NS . I know these are only anecdotal examples, and you can argue whether or not she is actually doing as great a job as she is being given credit for, but I do think there is a degree of this being replicated across the country. People need to feel they can trust the person in charge at a time like this, not everyone is super confident, and she appears to be a calming influence. It probably also explains the BBC’s decision to stop broadcasting all of the FM’s daily briefing. I agree with Loon though that this goodwill will probably only last so long and what happens next will probably determine if the SNP/YES hold onto the newfound support.
  14. I am sorry but its not just the media promoting this , my own personal experience is that the people complaining the loudest is over trivial things. Of course there are legitimate concerns, and the radio show did raise these, as I said the bloke had some interesting points. As I said the job losses is going to be horrendous, but things are getting moved on a bit . You can do a lot more now than you could 2 months ago . I dont think any government is deliberately trying to restrict business and people’s freedom.
  15. For the past 2-3 months I have had a really irritating itch , I tried over umpteen over the counter products from the chemist but they didnt work so I called the docs as it was keeping me awake at night. I got an appointment and prescribed some cream. Me and Mr Tidy were out for dinner in St Andrews the other night and he said ‘ How’s your itch’? I said. ‘ its much better , that cream the doctor gave me has worked’ . He said ‘ probably cause its a steroid’. I said ‘ is it? How do you know it's a steroid?. He said ‘ I don’t , I was just admiring your moustache’ . 😁
  16. There was a conversation on Jeremy Vine the other day about whether the restrictions being imposed are a bigger killer than the actual virus. He had 2 ‘experts’ on putting their respective cases forward. Whilst his points were interesting enough, the guy who was criticising the restrictions and saying this is all a massive over reaction just could not provide any reasonable explanation for the excess deaths , which really is the crux of it. He was saying the excess deaths could be due to suicides and people not being seen for things like cancer, but IMO that really doesn't make sense as the really high number of excess deaths took place just a few weeks after lockdown, it just does not add up that there would be a high number of suicides such a short time after lockdown, nor would there be such a large amount of people dying due to appointments or operations being delayed a couple of weeks. You just cannot get away from the excess deaths figure. Of course the folk tweeting into the show were mainly the ‘angry from Manchester’ brigade appalled at their liberties being withdrawn. One guy said he may as well be dead as he was a sociable person and he could not do any of the things he was used to doing. Some people need to take a good look at themselves. There are young and elderly people living every day with all sorts of serious disabilities and illnesses that provide them with a poor quality of life , but they fight on as they would still rather be alive. Yet we have selfish individuals that bleat on about ‘their rights ‘ as they need to book a table at a pub or need to wear a mask on a train. There is an understandable concern about job losses which cannot be ignored as this will have a big impact, and I have to give the UK government credit for the furlough scheme. But just allowing things to go back to normal, especially as winter approaches, would be a kamikaze approach, it beggars belief there are people who think this way.
  17. I missed the first half walking round St Andrews trying to get into a pub.
  18. Aye but Table Mountain is just a wee diddy mountain, its not very step or high . Ramy managed up it in his plimsoles. A bar at the top of Ben Nevis. What could possibly go wrong 😁
  19. ’When we did get to the top there was nothing there ‘😂 What was he expecting ? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon ? the Leaning Tower of Pisa ?
  20. 😂 Honestly, after a really shit week I never thought a defeat would give me such a laugh. Thank fook I decided against buying one of those or I would be up there in my dressing gown.
