  1. LAW 12 - FOULS AND MISCONDUCT Direct free kick A direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following seven offences in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: • kicks or attempts to kick an opponent • trips or attempts to trip an opponent • jumps at an opponent • charges an opponent • strikes or attempts to strike an opponent • pushes an opponent • tackles an opponent The bit in bold, that's what Ambrose did.
  2. For fouls involving kicking, tripping and general fouling, then it needs to be careless, reckless or using excessive force. Ambrose's challenge would be careless. There is no concept of "deliberate" as far as these offences are concerned, deliberate only applies to handball. It was a clear foul in the penalty box and denied an obvious goalscoring opportunity, so the ref got both the penalty and the sending off correct.
  3. Has Billy Davies commented on whether Billy Davies would be interested in the job?
  4. The old bugger cut me up on the A4 in his Bentley once.
  5. First of all the stuff Lennon got with the bullets and all that was way beyond the pale and all of that stuff was almost certainly motivated by sectarianism. That said Martin o'Neill was/is an Northern Irish Catholic Nationalist like Lennon and a much better and more successful manager than Lennon was and yet I don't recall him getting any where near the amount of "general" abuse that Lennon got. I also recall Lennon being pretty unpopular with fans of other teams, in particular I remember him making up stories about Aberdeen fans throwing coffee at him at Tynecastle. Maybe he was just an arsehole? Personally I've no time for either of them but my dislike of Neil Lennon goes back to when he was a nasty wee nark at Leicester and as far as O'Neill is concerned it goes back to when he was manager at Wycombe.
  6. Religion should be for the church, chapel, mosque, synagogue, gurdwara or wherever, not football grounds.
  7. Interesting that you pay so much attention to someone you think is a moron. She's made the account private temporarily to stop it been swarmed by idiot adult babies who like kids books, I'm sure you'll be able to get updates on her views on vegetables in the near future.
  8. The bulk of the SFA's profits are returned to the member clubs, that's where you should look if you don't think they are being used effectively. From last years annual report on the SFA's expenditure. 33% to members 22% on staff costs 19% on player development 18% on match costs
  9. I didn't say I had sympathy for them, i was answering the point about how come people who were on good money suddenly didn't have any. The exception to this would be that a lot of footballers aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer and they could well have been badly advised. I wouldn't include Darren Jackson in that as I don't think he's an idiot and he really should have gone for the maxim of "if it's too good to be true, it probably is".
  10. Why don't you fix it then? The options are: Was Speirs talking the truth? responses Yes/No. or Was Speirs talking the truth or lying? responses Talking the truth/Lying. You choose.

  12. Entirely depends on your contract and whether or not you have an exclusivity clause which I doubt the majority would have and would generally only cover working in competitive situations otherwise it could be construed as a restraint of trade.
  13. What idiot put the poll up? Was Speirs talking the truth or lying?Options are Yes or No. Obviously never ran that one past the electoral commission.

    Hamburg

I've been to HSV a couple of times, last time was about a year ago against Hertha on a Friday night, got tickets no problem via the website. They don't usually go on sale until maybe 3-4 weeks before the game so you shouldn't have the problem of having tickets and then the game being moved for TV. Just checked and last year's game sold out so make sure you check the website regularly to get an idea when they go on sale. Its a fantastic stadium but nothing much up and around there and its a longer hike from the S-Bahn to the stadium than you think, a good half hour. Hannover's a nice enough place and is easily accessible from Hamburg on the ICE. The ground is walking distance from town.
  15. Given she's made her twitter account private as of last night, you clearly follow her. What does that say about you?
  16. Not sure about Craig Beattie but it was a couple of expensive divorces that did for David James. The problem with these retrospective tax demands is that they'll relate to a time when they were earning good money and that'll all have been spent now.
  17. In essence though, that's exactly what McGarry was saying, that Spanner is a misogynist and Rowling has been supportive of him.
  18. She won't sue though, it's just a threat to shut down dissent. I doubt this is dirty linen she'd want washed in public.
  19. Rowling jumped on it pretty quickly so it looks more like something automated than just doing a random search. You have to ask yourself though, why would someone who is worth £500 million and is by any stretch of the imagination successful, want to search through Twitter to see if people are talking about them? Tends to suggest some sort of insecurity.
  20. Obviously, I'm following Natalie McGarry so I can look back at her tweets and another interesting fact is that JK Rowling wasn't copied in on the original tweet that set the whole thing. It was one of those "non public" conversations so only the people included and anyone who follows all of them would see it on their timeline. She's obviously got some sort of bot that goes through looking for any mention of her name.
