  1. Alex Rae was on the Clyde phone in last night & it was priceless stuff. As you can imagine, talk of titles being stripped made no sense to him. His logic included: Anyone who wanted his medal could try to get it or go to big Dado's house to get his & see what happens. Helicopter Sunday was won fair & square on the pitch. Celtic had a right good side as well at the time, you need to remember that None of the Celtic players would even want the medals anyway The best laugh of the night was some character urging him (speaking on behalf of every taxpayer) to simply pay his tax. Funnily enough, he was cut off, but Alex did not see the funny side.
  2. I've not worn one in years - gone are the days it used to mean something. Last week, Poppy Scotland had a "selfie booth" at Queen Street & that Navid guy off Still Game was trying to drum up interest. Complete & utter tat.
  3. You made a jibe, I've answered it. You made a stupid comment. I've corrected you. I have nothing further to add to this as a) I don't have the time that some sad sacks with 32,000 posts obviously have & b ) I can't (and I can't stress this enough) be arsed with any more of your boring chat. Good day, my friend.
  4. The only pish I've seen on this thread is from you. There was no title race last season. I've given you the facts to confirm this. I don't want appear sneering or condescending, but maybe I just feel the need to point that out.
  5. As per my original post, I explained to you I don't know how many times my thoughts on Deila last season. You remember our discussions from last season so well, so I don't know why you need to dig it up (especially when you agree with me). Well, I do - you obviously couldn't wait to do your wee "I told you so" routine. I never even post on the non TA Fitba bit now, so you must have been saving this up for a while. I told you in my original post you were right & well done.
  6. You piped up about me praising for Deila last season, I gave you a decent explanation & you come back with this nonsense?
  7. The title we won by 17 points, +43 more of a goal difference than our nearest rivals, & where we beat our nearest rivals in all 4 games at an aggregate score of 9-2? Eh, a real thriller! I'm almost certain I explained this several times last season & I'm almost certain it was to the same people, but for the sake of entertaining them: It was unfair to judge him on the CL qualifiers. He'd only been in the job 5 minutes & couldn't have known the players well enough. Lennon knew the squad we had was always going to struggle to make it & didn't hang about to see it. After a slow start (again, this happens the odd time under a new manager), he turned things around, we got out a tricky EL group & the 2 games against Inter were definite signs we were getting somewhere. We were a terrible officiating display away from a treble, which is for more difficult to win than is made out. We were by no means perfect, but anyone who didn't think there was progress is talking rubbish or being wise after the event. This season was always the acid test for him - I'm sure every Celtic fans would have said the same. He knew VVD, Denayer (I'd also say Guidetti as Griffiths isn't the answer) would be leaving for a long time & had months to prepare for this. It's impossible to comprehend the players we signed to replace them, so it's been no real shock to find we're shipping one bad goal after another & look toothless going forward. It's the same mistakes we were making at the same time last season & we have a far worse team, so despite the promise, there has been no progress & we're obviously going backwards, fast. He can't organise a team, doesn't have another system or plan B when it starts going wrong, too loyal to certain individuals & now appears to have lost the respect of some of the squad. I don't just blame him though - what has Kennedy ever done in the game to be in that role, is Collins the right man to be keeping him right? I'd also go above that & point out Lawwell's role in getting us to this stage whilst he continues to rake it in. A special mention too for John Park in spotting the current array of talent we have, most recently 32 y/o Carlton Cole on a 2 year deal on what won't be pennies. Long story short, I was wrong about Deila & you / so many on here were right - well done. All our problems aren't going to be solved when he goes though.
  8. Not making the playofs was an absolute failure. There are no excuses & you can't dress it up. As I mentioned in another thread, not doing as badly as people expect seems to be passing for doing well these days. If we finished 4th in that group, we sure as shit ain't getting near Russia. If Strachan has any sense, he'll go now before we get off to a stinker & are out of the running after a couple of games. I don't see that we've made great much progress under him, but that seems to be the general opinion & his popularity is still very high. That won't take long to change though.
  9. Energy 52, Cafe Del Mar. Still the greatest dance / trance tune ever IMO:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o2cV-FpoHo
  10. At least we were getting to World Cups & Euros back in the day. We're doing nothing on the pitch these days to merit such a support.
  11. Agree with Willie Miller & pretty much what we were discussing after the Poland game. It seems not doing as badly as we might is the new doing well. We were 4th out the hat, finished 4th in the group & we didn't do anything in between that exceeded expectations. It was yet another failure, no matter how you try & dress it up. I've been very surprised by the clamour to get Strachan to stay. Let's be honest, where exactly has he taken us? Each to their own, but I'm not keen on applauding failure & saying well done for trying.
  12. I was still at school during our glory days of getting to everything, but I couldn't wait until I was old enough to get to a World Cup or Euros. Italia 90 was the first World Cup I can remember clearly & the buzz of it at the time was amazing. As soon as I started working, I was going to the games & it never even crossed my mind that I might not see a finals. Reality has hit home in the last few years though & we really do have problems if we couldn't make France. It's going to be a nightmare watching this with all the other "home" nations lording it up. Fair play though, I just wish it was us!
  13. I thought the Tony Knowles were brilliant - the best away support I can remember at Hampden in ages. Maybe they just need to wear feathers & sing Doe A Deer relentlessly to have a good time correctly.
  14. We've looked like we're getting there at times, but the fact is we were 4th out the pot & we're 4th in the group. Hard to say we've really made much progress. I don't really care if he stays or goes - the outcome will be that we still won't make Russia. Oh how everyone laughed at wee Bertie!
  15. To be fair to Stephen Graham, they couldn't have made him look more ridiculous if they'd given him a bright green clown's wig!! 90 isn't as good as the others & the first couple of episodes look pretty out of place in terms of quality, but it comes good in the end. I never fancied the original film at all at the time & never watched it the first couple of times it was on, but glad I had a rethink.
  16. Poor show from Milky last eve. Combo had clearly sorted himself out & surely he could have called yon off. The first twa episodes were average at best, but the last couple fair picked up. Suppose there's more mileage in the series, but seem like a decent place to end it now.
  17. I can't go him at all. Doesn't matter if it's his early stuff or the more recent attempts at humour - I just find him annoying. I mind he was in some jungle survival thing & the guy he was with was demented. The only time I've laughed at Sir Lenworth is the incident Flora refers to earlier when he got fined for smoking in one of his rooms - thon was comedy gold
  18. Agreed. We could have signed him at any point, but we've sat & let the debacle unfold in public for maximum impact. I don't even know that he would have been a good signing for Rangers, but I can't see what he'll offer us at all. It's funny to a degree, but the only thing we should be concerned with is Malmo.
  19. Yeah, it's changed days now. Not the exact same thing, but you only have to look at McCoist to know it's all about the money.
  20. The Celtic fans voted Yes, but you were unhappy with the way they voiced their opinion on match days? You seem to think we're all Unionists, but I didn't see any Save the Union stuff going on at Celtic games from the Celtic fans. Stick to Pittodrie if you want to see any of that.
  21. Like the way all the Celtic fans started singing GSTQ, Rule Britania, waving UJs, etc, at games
  22. TJ has lost me, I'm afraid. Claiming Celtic fans are Unionists when most voted Yes - strange logic. I couldn't agree more with his bit about not letting the team you support influence your vote. Again, most Celtic fans I know would say the exact same - I have no idea what point he's trying to make.
  23. Utterly bizzare ramblings. Most Celtic fans voted Yes. Given we are all supposedlu Unionists, why? This will be good.....
  24. I think you're overstating what being a Rangers fan means to your average player. It all comes down to money at the end of the day IMO.
