The likes of McCarthy and McGeady IIRC said that Ireland made them feel wanted and Scotland didn’t.
I think he should be in the full squad. He’s getting minutes for Newcastle and that’s a high bar nowadays.
He is just back after 2 months injured, was on the bench against Napoli also. No brainer for me, it’s a B game and he has first team experience in league, cup and CL and has all the hallmarks of a generational talent.
I keep reading there is some kind of Moriarty figure at work in government but I’m not sure who it is. Rees Mogg possibly but he is no doubt answerable to business outside of government.
Well at least there is King and Lowry who would have been eligible, as far as I know. I quite like the look of Ure but time will tell. Only saw the Doak moments via Twitter.
Biden talking up the dangers (rightly) and I think this may be to prepare the way for a negotiated settlement. He talked about “looking for an off ramp” for Putin. The West won’t be too bothered if Ukraine loses ground as long as it isn’t a strategic problem (for the West). Ukraine haven’t got much leverage because if the weapons (and ammo) dry up, Russia will eventually prevail. I think some kind of neutral, demilitarised status for the Donbas and Crimea is most likely. Some kind of schengen arrangement. Putin would come up with an excuse to save face and declare it as some kind of victory. The Black Sea fleet would probably have to go elsewhere though. The alternatives are not good especially if Russia is facing defeat in Crimea, that along with the potential destruction of the Black Sea fleet by Ukraine is where the nukes would most likely come in.
I think he’d be better off actually playing for the u21s than not playing for the first team. He played last night because Rangers played with a back three and Sands was suspended. He is still being used fairly sporadically in the Rangers first team, so getting games for the u21s would be good for him.
