  1. No specific suggestions, but I think a lightweight waterproof jacket is the best bet. Use that for keeping off the rain and blocking wind. Then wear appropriate layers underneath depending on temperature.
  2. Not just corners, also free kicks, and generally just any opportunity to get the ball crossed into the box has been terrible. Need Charlie Adam back in the team
  3. What the feck was Whittaker doing there???
  4. Brilliant pass to Anya, and he brought it down excellently too. Great goal.
  5. Only played them competitively twice. Both in the qualifying for the 66 world cup.
  6. Strachan pointed out a few of Robertson's mistakes in the post-match interview on Saturday (when the interviewer was trying to say how great he was) so maybe Strachan wasn't as enamoured of his performance as most others were.
  7. Stats schmats, this isnae baseball we're talking about. I'm not saying Greer isn't the obvious choice to play, by the way.
  8. Still plenty wrong with the Champions League, but it's a move in the right direction.
  9. It would also take fecking ages to get there and back. Something like 2-3 years. I'm sure you'll find eejits queueing up to do this but there's no way I'd waste that amount of life on something like that.
  10. It depends on how long you've been running, how much mileage you run per week, etc. I'd say sub 40 minutes is starting to get respectable for someone who is actively training. But if you go to a local race you generally need to be sub-36 for any serious club runners to start thinking you're "good". Like deecie said, it's best just to compare times against your own PBs and try to get improvement.
  11. Excellent effort to everyone above. The world record was broken in the marathon at the weekend for a time of 2:02:57. Boggles my mind how fast these guys are; that pace is under 70 seconds for 400m.
  12. For older books, where the copyright has expired, then Project Gutenberg is good: http://www.gutenberg.org/
  13. YouGov guy said they had a preselected sample of folk who they had surveyed before the vote. They then asked them again after the vote to see how they actually voted. I suppose this gave them some insight into shifts from yes to no (or vice versa) and how the undecideds were going.
  14. Looks like Solskjaer's on his way out.
  15. In a completely scientifically rigourous manner with no room for argument, if you add up all those numbers you get a total Yes percentage of 50.37% Independence is therefore as good as guaranteed.
  16. The way the BBC are reporting the RBS thing is a good case in point. Their headline is: "RBS confirms 'Yes' vote London move". Further down the article they state that such a move would not lead to any job losses or relocations. The story could easily have been run with a headline reflecting this aspect instead: "RBS confirms 'Yes' vote will not result in loss of jobs".
  17. Article on the BBC website about the 1957 game between Scotland and West Germany. Apparently the media gave them pelters for "only" winning 3-1! http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/29075461
  18. It's on Fox Sports so won't be a problem for bars to show. Only problem is that the NFL is just starting again so most sports bars will be dominated with showing that. Best idea is to google sports bars in the area and then phone ahead to make sure they'll have it on.
  19. Only 18 of those 21 were in the World Cup squad. This should be easy.
