    Hutton

I would be looking at this a wee bit differently, and base who should be in the team against who and where we are playing. For Poland and Germany away i'd have gone with Bardsley instead of Hutton. One is better at defending than the other and one is better at getting forward than the other, so why play Hutton at RB when your not going to give him the opportunity to get forward and support the attack very often? Select Bardsley and play him because he's solid and can defend. Strachan said pre Poland that is one of the reasons he selected Whittaker over Robertson, so why not at RB too? He obviously trusts Hutton as he's the only player to start all of Strachans matches in charge. In games where we are expected to maybe be braver and get forward to win the game then Play Robertson and Hutton, Robertson was brilliant against Georgia, and he will undoubtedly play if fit in both Gibralter games and probably Ireland at home because we probably need a win in that game. I think Strachan is doing the right thing and sets his team up for each game, however going on that logic he thinks Hutton is a better defender than Bardsley which is where I don't fully agree, although he seems to know what he's doing so I will let him get on with it! The Scotland squad, being as it is just now can't just say we have a best player for each position, because they all have different attributes that may be suited to different matches, although I believe in the not too distant future Robertson will be stronger and more experienced at defending, allowing Strachan to play him in every game.
  2. Nah not buying that. Robertson may not be the finished article as a defender but he's not any worse than Whittaker and surely WGS can't ignore the benefits we get from him getting forward to support and that amazing delivery. Got to have a knock or something.
  3. This is what I'd like to see as starting line up. If Snoddy was fit he'd be in where you have Dorrans. As for Strachans selection I think it will be close to above but Right midfield is up for debate. I think it's more likely to be Morrison or Bannan in that position..... Strachan seems to always squeeze Bannan into the team so I would say Bannan at right of 3 behind Fletcher is most likely what we will see. Am I one of the only people who seems to think Bannan rarely brings much to the side? Sure he can pass it 5-10 yards and is good for ball retention but most of our midfield players can do that. He also is very guilty of failing to beat the first defender when crossing, taking a corner or free kick. Yet to be convinced.
  4. Don't think I would be too upset if Berra were to be in the squad instead of Greer.
  5. Thought Dons were wasteful last night, even though they looked sluggish across the team they still created more than enough chances to win the game comfortably. Thought it was going to be a comfortable win when I saw Saints high line at the back which included Goodwin who was playing his 2nd game in 4 days, turns out he's still faster than Rooney by miles in a race! Thought McAusland should have been red carded for bringing Pawlett down when through on goal at 0-0, would like to see highlights because I thought no one was catching him. Goodwin continues to be the dirtiest player in the league by some way, his "tackle" on Hayes after the whistle had already gone for Hayes already being fouled was borderline straight red as well, he really is a f ud. Although keepy uppies were nae bad, i'll give him that. I wondered before the game if McInnes could have freshened up in a few positions, lot of games in last couple weeks, would have like to see Pawlett rested, Nicky Low given a start and maybe Brown in for clangers.
  6. Stevie May hasn't even made the list you've quoted and IMO he has done very well in Championship since he went to Sheffield
  7. Went yesterday for final day. The level these guys are at is almost unbelievable. Was on 8th most of day, Garcia almost hit me with his tee shot, hit my backpack before coming to rest on fence and also watched Kutcher hole from about 140 yards for an eagle. Brilliant day out!
  8. Adjusting to the bets they've taken to make sure they don't lose so much ?? I hope. No way anyone can know for sure. I have to believe that.
  9. The Corstorphine one I posted above is fact, my brother is the SNP rep at that polling station and is helping supervise the count at this very minute. I should get an indication from there pretty early although it's unlikely to be Yes from Corstorphine.
  10. Turnout at St Ninians in Corstorphine Edinburgh was 96% at 9.15pm
  11. That is superb, I almost lost it listening to that the now, wisnae prepared emotionally for that!
  12. This is the paranoia thread though so my fear counts as logical regardless of how unlikely!
  13. Yeah thats the one. Would post a pic if I knew how. I stay near Inverurie so could be a lot of people getting this leaflet in the North of Scotland
  14. Thinking the same, surely a pen means it can't be tampered with? I made sure to lean a bit heavier with the pencil and leave an indent.
  15. We got a Scottish Liberal Democrats leaflet this morning which included a checklist to help voters, the last item on the checklist stated: "Ask your Neighbour to go and vote 'NO' with you"
  16. I want to thank SNP, Alex, Nicola, all the campaign teams, Yes Scotland, Patrick Harvey and other Yes campaigners from political parties outside the SNP, the celebrities, every member of the public who got involved to campaign and all their teams for the energy and will to succeed, it has been a monumental effort, it's been many years in the making right back to before we had a parliament, before we could even dream of a SNP majority in the Holyrood elections that would allow a chance to vote become a reality. The drive these people show and the calm demeanour in the face of some pretty difficult questions, debates and dogged negative tactics and propaganda is astounding and unbelievable to watch. It's been done from the start with a smile on their faces and a positive outlook the whole time. A special thank you to my Brother David Brook, I have been watching on in complete awe as you have gone from normal everyday nationalist speaking to friends to being heavily involved with Business Scotland, you've been knocking on doors and attending meetings for over 2 years now and I've seen you debate or be interviewed on the One Show, on the BBC news, on the Bateman show to mention but a few whilst juggling your family life and work commitments......I don't doubt for a second that you are a typical example of the effort that so many people have put into the Yes campaign. I will be a proud man walking into the polling station tomorrow, this is happening folks, I have no doubt in my mind, thank you to all of you who made this possible!
  17. 2nd Away trip, but first with my mate Dave. Planes, trains, buses and hire cars to get there. It rained lots, mate fell in the fountain, Scotland were not too bad that night and the place was rocking after McCann scored. We were students at the time and trip was done on a tiny budget. We had no hotel and headed to airport after match to find it was closed and didn't open until 5am, so went to nearby petrol station and used our last 10 Euros combined to buy some cheap vodka and ended up in a car park stairwell trying to keep out the rain and drinking the vodka so not to sober up and feel the cold. Conditions have improved somewhat since that trip.
  18. Inverurie, pitch is next door to Inverurie Locos. Tiny wee pitch Colony have.
  19. I think Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire are both going to be No - really hope I am wrong! I work in the Oil industry and so many people that I speak to are scared of change because they either already have lots of money or earn enough to pay for their lifestyle, they are scared of any change that could affect that. Especially the self employed contractors. As for Aberdeenshire, seeing more Yes banners than No Thanks ones but most of the No's seem to be from the Farmers, im guessing most of them will be voting No if they are farmers that get large subsidies - turkeys don't vote for xmas. Guess that could apply to a lot of areas in Scotland.
