  1. Pretty sure Lithuania could compile something like the above on us also
  2. Drawing 1-1 with a team ranked outside the worlds top 150. Can't say I blame them tbh
  3. Agreed. People seem to be forgetting that there were baffling squad selections as always and if the referee hadn't had a shocker it would have been a difficult evening. That being said we can be a little more positive than we were last week but lets see where we are after the Lithuania game as it will no doubt be tougher than the other night

    Defence?

Would seem an obvious one to have him in the squad instead of Greer, especially with Berra already there as CB cover and Mulgrew to be added for the next squad too probably
  5. I think we'll win 5-1 with Snodgrass to score first from a cross.
  6. Overall it was a very positive evening. Some great performances and you learn a lot about players when you're in control of a game - for example Hutton probably is still our best right back, Paterson looked a little out of his depth. That being said he's young and we should keep giving him a chance to improve. Snodgrass was different class and once we have Leigh Griffiths uptop I think we'll be an even more dangerous outfit. Lithuania will be no mugs but hopefully we go at them and continue the positivity from last night.
  7. I'd say the crux of our problem is a lack of key players and any real quality, coupled with poor squad selections which result in our team not being as strong as it should be. In addition to this some players selected are not even back up choices in their position at their club. Depressing times.
  8. Wouldn't be the first time that's happened with GS
  9. Can fully see this being the case. Would love to be wrong but fear come Sunday evening we are going to be speaking even more negatively about our national side and this campaign & Be talking about who should come in as the next manager.
  10. Nail on the head. Paterson should start instead of Hutton. Burke should be one of the first names on the teamsheet. Will either of them start? Highly unlikely.
  11. Anything other than a win and we definitely can't qualify - No team who qualifies will lose any points v the bottom seeds. A team really wanting the result would play attacking and set up in an attack minded formation - Strachan just doesn't have that in his locker though.
  12. A young player with potential at an EPL/Championship club is going to be around that fee. It just so happens Burke is Scottish. If Ryan Gauld had been with an English team he would have gone for something similar too - It's just the way with the inflated market down there. Here's hoping Burke becomes a superstar though - Certainly had a good start to his career.
  13. GK Marshall RB Paterson CB Hanley CB Martin LB Robertson RW Burke CM Morrison CM Bannan LW Forrest No 10 Snodgrass FW Fletcher (Sigh)
  14. Morrison and Anya haven't played pretty much all season. On current form think Forrest is worth his place ahead of Anya.
  15. Got to be honest I don't care that he hasn't played i'd happily see Rhodes upfront now Griffiths is out just so we have a better chance of scoring. Chris Martin playing will make me switch the tv off.
  16. Yep. And on the back of two feel good wins vs Denmark and Czech Rep. Two more games against teams of a similar level; Norway, Greece, Romania etc clearly a much better choice. Starting to get a very bad feeling for Sunday.
  17. Strachan is more frustrating than Levein at present.
  18. He's out injured till the new year anyway. No bad thing - McGregor will probably get a move either permanently or on loan to another EPL club once he is back fit.
  19. Yep, slow pace, commentators saying it's understandable in the heat, few chances created and depressing scoreline of 0-0 at half time with the second half starting off in much the same way...
  20. A poor team picked and not 3 points v Malta will result in the wolves at the door for Strachan IMO.
  21. Anya played 9 minutes this season. Many players unused subs this weekend. Fletcher not scored in about 65 years. Burke, Griffiths, Paterson etc to start please.
  22. Unless he's going to do a Delle Alli and come to a Prem team and make an instant impact, would rather see him play a full season before a move
  23. As I said, repeatedly Strachan leaves out players he should include and includes some beyond baffling selections. Martin out and Greer out are both obvious ones. McCormack and Cooper/A young cb - Bearing in mind Martin, Hanley & Berra are 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice. Souttar is probably the prime candidate after Cooper. The selection of McGinn is a tad strange, playing at a low level and untried. However he's young so it's interesting to see what he can bring. If you think Strachans squad selections are correct and he isn't stubborn and short sightened with what he's doing then you're in a minority.
