  1. He slipped under the radar because we had a woeful manager. Strachan probably read that the fans wanted Lindsay called up and that was enough to result in the stubborn wee khunt never even considering him.
  2. I don’t think Celtic feel sorry for the rest of the domestic league who can’t match their spending on transfer fees and wages. Brandan Rogers is like a broken record making all the pre match about the financial gulf. To be honest you don’t hear Martin Canning or Owen Coyle bleating about the financial gulf before SPFL games. I think this mediocre campaign from Celtic highlights just how average some of their players are and gives everyone a reality check on their domestic achievements. i do agree with you though about feeling sorry for them, very hard group.
  3. So did Chris Smalling. Sorry I thought we were just naming English players who scored today 😏
  4. I could see us finishing pretty low amongst those teams to be honest! Still games are games...
  5. It would be a fine change if we actually played games for a change. Im for it if we continue down the path of the Holland game & draft in some more youth like McCrorie & McKenna.
  6. To be honest we’re better off judging these players on their club form. Its how we gauge selection for the full team & if we rated our own players on Scotland performances over the past few years then we’d never call up half our squad!
  7. Disagree & think both McKenna and especially McCrorie will get caps, and probably very soon. Morgan is in the same situation as McGinn last year, whereby he is playing in the championship, so we need to wait and see how he gets on in the SPL before passing real judgement.
  8. Ridiculous post. The freshening up of the team & the new caps itself are plenty reason to have the game. The bigger question should be, why only one game? A monday/Tuesday friendly v a weaker team would have been the perfect chance to get more caps under the belts of the young players. ”what was the point of that game” - Give me a break 😂😂😂
  9. Yes pick a guy who has started one match in his life & doesn’t know if he’s Scottish over a 26 year old who’s steadily improved for years and has now played probably 200-300 games in his career...
  10. Realistically why would MON even want the Scotland job!? Given what he’s achieved you’d think he’d want a go at a decent level of club football.
  11. In no particular order; Brown, Armstrong, McGregor, Fraser, Forrest, McGinn, Shinnie, Fleck, Christie, Bannan, Snodgrass, Dorrans, Phillips, Morrison, McLean, Fletcher, McTominay, Russell, probably Mackay-Steven & Coutts even... Crawford is in a pack behind those players with McGeouch etc probably. So yeah about 20 or so ahead of him
  12. I’ll reiterate again there’s atleast 20 midfield players ahead of Ali Crawford for Scotland selection, maybe more.
  13. Under 21’s lost 1-0 at home to Latvia tonight. Their campaign will be over now. Time to blood McKenna, McCrorie & McBurnie Into the full squad.
  14. Ah yes. 1 start in total and no starts in the league. By that reckoning Calvin Miller, Jack Aitchison & Mikey Johnston should all be in the squad now also. Having said that I would stick McTominay in the squad if he was Scottish, which at the moment, he isn’t.
  15. Nope. Neither would McTominay. Atleast Fleck knows he’s Scottish though 😂
  16. I’d put him about 57th in the list of midfielders to call him. In all seriousness we have about 20 midfielders ahead of him in the pecking order. Maybe more...
  17. For the poster above saying Fleck shouldn’t be worth a look - he’s ahead of Kenny McLean that’s for sure.
  18. I’ve never heard a young player booed on their Scotland debut in their home town before that’s for sure. Disgraceful.
  19. That should be enough to keep the national team away from Aberdeen anyway. Disgraceful.
  20. They were the two players who didn’t take their chance. Jack, Christie, Fraser, Tierney & McGregor all impressive.
  21. Agree about McLean and Phillips, probably both of them barely worth a squad place. Nice to see the deadwood firmly forgotten about. Would have liked to see Archer get some game time.
