  1. Amazing that only McGinn went on to have a successful Scotland career, bearing in mind how shite we were in 2016. Suppose you could add the St Johnstone double cup winning team who were full of Scots or eligibles.
  2. Surprisingly probably Celtic during Rodgers first spell. Gordon, Tierney, Armstrong, Brown, Christie, Griffiths and Forrest. Made up the main bit of the Scotland squad.
  3. So this summer is the jambos last real chance of cashing in on him.
  4. Sure the Dortmund police are willing Georgia on in the playoff. πŸ˜€ Turkey V Greece in Germany with big immigrant Turkish and Greek populations. Tasty could be underestimating the situation.
  5. Almost certainly nothing to do with present or future Scotland squads but good to see Hearts signing two Scottish players on pre contracts (Spittal and Penrice). Saw them a lot for Thistle and they are decent SPL players but light years away from the squad in two of our strongest areas. Still well done to Hearts and Naismith for bucking the anyone but Scottish players trend.

Really enjoyed that though the only player I can see challenging the euro squad would be Johnston if Hickey doesn't make it. Definitely an upgrade on Ralston. His team are second in the Austrian league and getting game time and starts for good old Sturm. Ones like Conway, Bowie, Barron, King could be close in two to four year's time.
  7. So that is the end of the Newcastle wanabees connection. None in this squad so in all likelihood none at the Euros so let's put that to bed. If Hickey is not fit by May then Archie Gray? A nothingy but timely article on Team talk (.....I know.....) Major Archie Gray approach to be rejected as family urge Leeds starlet against following their path for now (msn.com)
  8. Speaks volumes of the man to say that he is glad the Welsh defender was credited with the goal as it keeps him on level goals with his hero Denis Law. I was at that match and was going in anyway. Today would have been a clear Dalglish goal.
  9. The Italians cannot believe he is not an automatic pick for our first team. Shows the depth of talent we have in midfield.
  10. Totally agree, and getting more stressful as any recovery window is getting shorter.
  11. Talking about Christie, very positive article about him on Sky Sports. Really developed under the new manager. Always been impressed by his commitment and attitude. 12. Looking forward to this. On in about two hours.
  13. How many of these moves actually work out? Apart from Gilmour, I cannot think of another 15/16 year old who went from an SPL club to England and became successful.
  14. Exactly my thought. His best days with Scotland were with the inclusion of players like Souness and Strachan who were on a similar wavelength to him. Still outstanding before that though IMO.
  15. Looks like Jacob Brown is out for "the foreseeable future". Maybe too late to come back and make the EURO squad. Got to be Shankland or Fraser to replace him. Scotland Men's Football Team - BBC Sport
  16. Ditto happens to the ones who play for the old firm.
  17. Matt Ritchie on in last couple of minutes and scores an equaliser. Just saying like!!
  18. Assist for Ralston today, could come into the equation if Hickey is not fit for June and Patterson spends his career on the Everton bench. Four Scottish players in Celtic line up today, most this season I think.
  19. Best Scotland player ever. Most people who saw him would agree. Two of the best goals scored by Scotland players, away to Belgium, home to Spain. Plus two winners against England. Turned up at almost every international game, cause of the 102 caps. Outstanding for clubs and country. Where do we stop the plaudits? Wish we had someone like him every decade since.
  20. Also got McTominay on board, not sure how difficult on contracted that actually was.
  21. Not a bad shout. McT's header yesterday was a real centre forwards goal, think Andy Gray or Joe Jordan.
  22. Almost the most non Italian type match I have ever seen in Italy. Ferguson had a great game and Doig was ok going forward. Not really comfortable defensively but looked like he was playing as a wing back.
  23. Not a transfer as such but the last new big thing Alex Lowry has had his loan move curtailed and is heading back to Ibrox at Hearts' request. Needs another loan which might work out better for him, still young but disappointing!!
  24. Dykes played left midfield a few weeks ago against Bournemouth. They have the young Irish striker Armstrong who is like a 200 metre runner and skillful. They both complemented each other quite well. Still think QPR will go down as their defence is awful. Fans were lamenting the retirement of Lee Wallace, shows how bad it is.
