I find it strange that an Englishman can complain about using "foreign mercenaries" when your Union side is full of them, you are coached by an Aussie, England has the largest pool of players and has the wealthiest Union so why go pick from other countries. You have also answered your own question, League is a northern power house and hence why only 35k watched the game in London .

Clyde Best always got the recognition of being the first black player in the original English first division but Ipswich Town had a guy called Johnny Miller who played the season before Best [68-69 season] , Miller was born and bred in Ipswich so can rightly be called the first English black player to play in the top flight.

Scottish International football is finished - no one bothers anymore, the quality is pish, the commitment is pish, just let it go , find another sport, watch the rugby boys at least they commit to the cause.

A few years back i was on a flight from London to Hong Kong and got talking to Dan Carter and Nonu [the guy with the dreadlocks] - I mentioned that they should be grateful to the Scots as we introduced them to Rugby and Nonu got me a beer but when i mentioned that they do not lose many games he looked and said "The All Blacks never lose, we sometimes get beaten but never lose" and he meant it !!!

I don't think its arrogance on behalf of the English, they have lost interest in there national team in the same way as a lot of Scotland fans have. England have failed at tournament after tournament and there fans now realise that all the hype pumped up by the press is b******t , they have overpaid players in an overrated league that is dominated by foreign players and foreign managers I still hope we pump them though !!!!

Watched the Ireland game, just wondered what age's this group covers as the Irish looked a big side compared to the Scots, the Scottish boys looked a year younger in most departments.
