  1. [quote Hope he breaks a leg very soon and loses his career.[/quote Aberdeen - The Red Huns
  2. Glad the game's on but that pitch doesn't look playable at all. I presume County didn't have their under soil heating on last night?
  3. Done hospitality at a couple of different racetracks (Wolves, Hexham and Newcastle). Not done it at Musselburgh but if my experiences of it at the other courses is anything to go by you'll throroughly enjoy it.
  4. In no particular order London, Tbilisi, Chania (Crete), Prague, Stockholm
  5. They hired in portable generators / lights for the match. Presumably by utilising the early Saturday kick off time this will dispense with the need (and costs) of the generators / portable lights. Which is why junior sides shouldn't be in the cup in the first place....
  6. Do Iceland have friendlies planned? Somebody (not sure who) from the Icelandic FA was at Hampden for some sort of seminar type thing that was hosted by SFA / Stewart Regan. I wonder if the subject came up?...
  7. So they've therefore organised a friendly in 24 hours. Something the SFA struggle to do in 24 weeks!
  8. Aah! I'm sure I wasn't too far away with my first guess. He could be a contender for "Most amount of defeats for a manager in one calendar year" too come to think of it!
  9. Applying logic to Scotland's choices of friendly opposition is not in keeping with what the SFA themselves do. Given that both those teams are now left scratching around for an opponent, whilst half of Europe already have fixtures organised, could well mean that we will possibly fill the void? (I'm merely speculating I hasten to add)
  10. Northern Ireland v Poland have called off their March friendly after having been drawn in the same group. Can see us playing one of them in March (NI more likely if the two)
  11. Thanks for the help guys. Actually, I stumbled on a Mexican restaurant after The Gold Cup at Cheltenham in March. Turns out it was on Bennett's Hill, so will certainly take a trip along that street and check out those boozer's mentioned. Just a short walk from the hotel too
  12. Got a couple of 4 day long work trips down there in Jan and Feb. Staying in the New Street station area. Will be on my tod - anyone recommend any good bars and restaurants walkable from my digs. (I was there last year too and found the Brewdog bar which I liked a lot so will be in there once or twice, but would like to find somewhere else too)
  13. Pretty sure it's signposted on the A9 North of Perth. If it wasn't for that I would never have heard of it either
  14. I guess it probably was the same programme. Aye the model was pretty spectacular. So spectacular that the surgeons seemed convinced it was real. I began to find myself thinking the same too actually!
  15. Quite possibly the most bizarre piece of TV I've watched in many a year. A team of surgeons are performing an autopsy on a Tyrannosaurus Rex seemingly in the belief that the poor thing died last Wednesday. I'm really rather dumbfounded at this programme. Should probably stop watching but I'm scared I might miss something even more bizarre. Anyone else watching?
  16. I take it just swap the beef mince for haggis? Might give this a try - sounds intriguing!
  17. Bottom line - Yes it is. I beleive it's to "raise awareness", which is basically the same thing
  18. Granted. But he's the manager of an international football team who only play, seven or eight times a year. He's got plenty time on his hands to speaking to U21, U19 etc coaches and watching DVDs etc. I don't know for certain but I'm guessing he won't be at the Victory Shield (U16) tonight (awaits to be proven wrong!) Not for a second suggesting U16 players get in the squad but in 2 or 3 years time, players from that team could be knocking on the door of the squad. England (again granted they have better players) seem a lot better at giving younger players their first caps (e.g. Rooney, Sterling, Chambers, Barkley, Stones all examples of young players playing consistently with the full team whilst still eligible for U21 teams). Perhaps cause they're manager(s) are familiar with them?????
  19. I think he should be familiar with them already
  20. Enjoyed that programme. But the Man Utd players have just turned that club into a plaything for themselves (although no different to Abramovich et al in the EPL)
  21. Is McBookie the only on-line bookie with odds on the juniors? And is Ladbrokes the only High Street one? Reckon there's a few quid to be made tomorrow (famous last words)
  22. Quite possibly! As much as I enjoy the show, I wouldn't be in a rush to take advice on getting a job from any of the participants!
