  1. Has any other club ever made a serious bid for Tavernier?
  2. I admire your optimism. Number 2 buses in Dumbarton Road currently offer a more reliable service than the Scotland team do to our strikers.
  3. This all day. Gilmour did not have a good second half as the performance went through the phases from up-the-tempo to anxiety to uber-anxiety. Normal in these circumstances. Coincidentally, the player who stood up more and more during those same phases was Scott McTominay. And a major shout to Grant Hanley for that clearance in the middle of the box after c75 minutes when there were three opponents available to take advantage. That was crucial to this victory.
  4. There were about 14 who couldn't play on plastic that night.
  5. Good summary. RB/RWB is for the taking right now and some serious competition exists for a variety of reasons.
  6. O'Donnell until Patterson ousts Tavernier as first choice. For me, he's not earned his place as first choice for Scotland until he has the confidence of his club manager as a first pick. If Gerrard doesn't have confidence in him by now, then he has to move down south to progress his career. He's also now running the risk of Ramsay gaining the upper hand on him by virtue of being first choice at Aberdeen. Nathan Patterson has a decision to make about his own future.
  7. McGregor should be on penalties in the immediate future. Worst thing about Dykes hitting it down the middle is that he gets no height on it. What part of the keeper's anatomy is the last to move when he dives?? His feet. That's basic analysis. So a penalty down the middle should be at knee height as a minimum, and ideally shoulder height.
  8. To clarify - no longer a full-time Sky employee now that he's 65 - pensioned off. May be doing odd gigs as freelance - as he is entitled to do.
  9. This crossed my previous response to Debian. If that's the case then it's not acceptable. Did Plod make any effort to silence them?
  10. Debian - whether I have kids or not is immaterial to the discussion (full transparency - I do have one). Anybody taking a kid to a game involving Israel should recognise that there is a possibility that they may be subjected to opinions that they would not normally hear on their local Main Street. Much the same as when I was taken to my first Thistle-Rangers game in 1966, and I naively asked the question 'Dad - what's fenian blood?.' I wasn't allowed to a Thistle - OF game thereafter while living in the family nest. We have to eradicate these things or accept them - in Scotland the procedure is to do the latter.
  11. You're a Sevco fan right? You cannot be that thick to have posted the above in all seriousness.
  12. Patterson may well be the future - he has the attributes - but tonight comprehensively displays that until he can displace Tavernier he cannot be considered to be the present.
  13. Sevco could do the community a service by offering to host the marches at Ibrox park. Free entrance for the brethren, plenty of space to perfect their marching steps and singing in tune without disruption to the rest of Scottish society. No banning order required.
  14. And with good reason too!! They're gloriously unique. Western Isles punk sung in an authentic Hebridean accent - mostly English lyrics. Check them out on YouTube.
  15. Don't think it's unprecedented - it seems to be a regular thing that's part of their culture. There was an interview on Channel 4 about it earlier in the week.
  16. Don't believe what you've been told, it's a well worthwhile trip provided you are open-minded and do your research about the local culture before booking. Was there in 2004, and would have been going on this one but for the travel difficulties. Indeed this was potentially the most attractive away trip of the group in my opinion.
  17. On the contrary, the recent conversation has been highly revealing about the tolerance levels towards sectarian abuse of Scotland players by a cross section of our fellow posters. Why suppress it?
  18. Well done!! Pleased it all worked out for you in the end.
  19. Was superb at his day job tonight against one of Europe's finest (Alaba). Got forward intelligently a few times but improvement needed on his crossing. Unlucky with his shot which was well placed and well saved. 9/10.
  20. That's fair enough - it's obvious that he divides opinion amongst the support. SC should clearly be looking to improve the RB berth in the team after finding us a reliable striker. However if he deems that SOD is the most trustworthy of his options for major fixtures at this point, then that's good enough for me. He worked with him for two full seasons after all, so SC will know better than any of us if he is the best option available at this time.
  21. His brother is a priest, although the relevance of it defeats me as well.
  22. You haven't got it right aaid. The criticism of O'Donnell is coming from supporters of Scotland who are looking for a scapegoat before an important qualification fixture has even started. Let that sink in.
  23. Team confirmed: Gordon O'Donnell/Hendry/Hanley/Tierney/Robertson Gilmour/McGinn/McGregor Adams/Dykes Same as Wembley bar Gordon for Marshall and Hendry for McTominay
