  1. Hurry and grow up, then it'll be even cheaper for you!!
  2. What is 'Senior Membership'?
  3. The points harvester's dream scenario comes to pass. Are they going to introduce random checks at home games?
  4. There's not a chance WS would pick McCrorie ahead of Davie Weir.
  5. Nothing wrong with your interpretation or suggestion, but as others have pointed out, there have only been 3 away games in the last 10 (?) years where tickets have not been available to zero pointers. Which suggests that there are a number of people on here whinging for no good reason other than they can't get themselves organised to get on the points ladder.
  6. I think the interpretation of the discussions risks becoming twisted here. For the avoidance of any confusion, the current system of awarding tickets for AWAY games has been in place for years and by the comments on this thread, works well enough. So why change it for AWAY games? The HOME games question is entirely another matter. Do you folks think that Scots who are members of a putative Home Supporters Club should have exclusive access to tickets? What happens then to the unsold home tickets - of which England apart - there have been plenty this century? How will you make those available to the general public without compromising the membership of the HOME supporters club? Tell us how you foresee it working in practice, please. And your first paragraph is correct about the introduction of the points system. Oh - almost forgot - you are 100% correct with supporting the team at home is just as important as away. The fact is that it's a limited amount who are able to ATTEND all home and away games. And that is a different matter.
  7. Disagree because there is a system already in place and the rules are clear and easy to implement. In any event, your hypothesis of finals tickets is up there with Dembele and Morelos ever attracting 40m and 10m respectively.
  8. You don't get it do you? When the laughter at the back has finally died down, you'll realise that it will take more than a couple of away points to guarantee tickets to games in the finals. But then you may not have been around in 1998. As an aside, my Belgian colleague who is a member of their travel club and has booked for the England game in St Petersburg tells me that the entire Belgian FA allocation for that game is 700. Of which 58 are going to Belgian Travel club members.......................
  9. With respect to you, that's a blanket assertion and a simplistic view. The reality is that home fixtures and away fixtures are different categories. They have been treated as such by the SFA since the advent of the travel club last century. Yes, there are people based in Scotland who attend only away games nowadays due to the SFA'a rip-off pricing strategy for home games, and some people from the outlying areas of Scotland prefer to use their available leave time to travel to away games. That's their choice and they are well within their rights to exercise it. Similarly, there are many of us who are based overseas who choose away games over home games for reasons of cost and time. In reality, it's not as black and white as you are trying to make it out to be.
  10. He looked lightweight. Mind you at least he didn't hide. Did Dembele actually take the field?
  11. What should buying Scotland home tickets give you any chance at all of getting away tickets? The two are separate categories of fixtures.
  12. As has been said ad nauseam on this thread, everybody in the travel club started on 0 points at one stage. As I've already pointed out it's less a question of disposable income, and more to do with how high up your list of priorities following Scotland on away trips is. There is no right or wrong answer here, other than the away points system is what it is and it works perfectly well as it stands. Sorry that it doesn't work for you, but your assertion about level of disposable income does not stand up to much scrutiny.
  13. Would love that to be the case, but unfortunately the days of her even managing to make the shops let alone get on a plane (as she did up until 4/5 years ago) are over. Want to make the most of her while she's still here. Anyway, back on topic, I only introduced that as an example of sometimes having to decide your priorities - they could be economic, family or work related. Every one of us is impacted by them.
  14. You don't need 'a certain income' to do so. You need to decide what your priorities are with the income you have and plan accordingly. I understand that you are never going to get flights to Albania for 150 notes, but that's a function of where you live (you don't say why you choose to live in the Hebrides, but frankly that's a moot point). Where I am, I have limited flight options and it costs me significant euro (compared to others) to get to anywhere to see the away games. For example, I won't be making Budapest although the game falls bang on my birthday, because at New Year my 89 year old mother asked me to be with her on that day. In my mind, there wasn't a choice to be made. That's where my priority lies on this occasion.
  15. OK, I'll bite. I'll call the bit in bold out as total bollocks unless you can provide a reference to where this was ever said or implied. How many away points do you have, and why do you not have more? What's stopping you making away trips? We haven't had any in the last 5 years (including Georgia) that have been particularly difficult to get to, in my opinion.
  16. Maybe the SFA could pilot the concept over the next two years by doing away with the points system and having a ballot for access to the Europa League qualifiers amongst those SPFL clubs who have the least disposable income? It must be 45-50 years since some of our provincial clubs had a European tie to look forward to.
  17. If they want to encourage folk to buy home tickets then they could start by reviewing their abject failure of a pricing policy for home games, which has seen one sell-out in the last 10 years. As for away games, there are many reasons why fellow fans exercise their freedom of choice to prioritise them over home games - limited annual leave entitlement, their location in the globe, and better value for money going to away games due to the failed pricing policy mentioned above for starters. There's nothing wrong with the current system - if they try tinkering with it to include home games, they will create an administrative monster for themselves.
  18. He doesn't when Ryan Edwards is up against him.
  19. If that's the ultimate aim, then the pricing strategy has been decidedly unsuccessful so far this decade
  20. Not a chance of the stadium in Tirana being finished before 2020 I'm afraid. And trust me Shkodra is an order of magnitude better as a location than Elbasan, unless you like watching your football in Grangemouth.
  21. Mods - can you please move this thread into the appropriate forum, thanks.
  22. Hang on. For the avoidance of any doubt - you are happy with a Scotland player sustaining a serious injury??
