  1. Supporting South Africa - know the Captain Siya Kolisi so good enough for me well my wife is South African, but that is an aside really hope they feck them up
  2. looks to require 6 Months left on PP which is what many countries require on a visa if you renew early UK will add up to 1 year on your PP rolling from existing - 1 of my current PP was issued in 2009 expiring 2020
  3. Folk need to remember that IFA's are effectively Salesman - not like a profession where need to take 3 years to complete professional exams. Back in the day carpenters/joiners could be let loose after 1 months training - my uncle moved across from agricultural sales to being an IFA. I notice quite a few people who i used to work with in RBS (not the sharpest tools in the box, and didn't complete their Chartered Banking Qualification ), now that they have been made redundant, have moved across to "Wealth Management" I'm now fighting with my offshore advisers who are telling me they need to charge me a discretionary fee (0.75% or 1% or something) when it's me that tells them exactly what to do, and they effectively act on an execution basis only & already got their commission up front 3 years ago
  4. see enjoys cooking for folk - just had a 2nd knee operation, so up and down stair on a 3 storey house like a rat up a drain pipe + it's a farm so more people coming and going typically my brother gets his breakfast/lunch there every day
  5. wasn't speaking about you but if you think the hat fit's .............
  6. guess it's an aberdeenshire thing normally my mother (she's 82 ) gets following arriving un-anounced Friends Family Salesmen Typically all of who will get offered lunch/dinner if they arrive around that time (had to share my food back in the day) Lorry drivers as well who are dropping off loads, will also get offered tea/biscuits lunch/soup I rock up without phoning - I only phone relatives to make sure they are not out
  7. I can't work out who are all trolling, given the amount of ridiculous posts there are seem's some people are happy that people lied like kunt's as long as the result aligned with what they wanted
  8. built on lies and falsehoods, so means jack shit Under your guardianship, no one would be getting compensation for all the Insurance mis-sellling because "you agreed to it"
  9. no need to respect it - don't respect anyone who lies to me, and will not honour any contracts which are built on lies/fraud/deception
  10. see that is 4 of the South Africa winning team from 94 now dead Chester Willaims now at 49 https://www.sport24.co.za/Rugby/RugbyWorldCup2019/tributes-continue-to-roll-in-for-springbok-icon-chester-williams-20190907 I got told a lot of the younger Rugby Players in ZA at schools etc, are all on steroids, to beef themselves up
  11. just be cautious on what your expectations are - if you are expecting to live to a ripe old age, likely the defined benefit is better + if you have surviving spouse who would pick up say 50% of remaining yearly pension entitlement (+ defined benefit will pay out a lump sum as well, and start paying out early if you wish, at a lower pay out) Private Pension will allow you to be invested after taking out the lup sum if you want to , so still invested to grow next 20-30 years - Think this is called a living pension, rather than moving to conservative funds/treasury/cash etc - Obviously Private Pension pot can be inherited (As a pension to keep away from tax )
  12. ok I don't believe you will get any conservative party voter, trying to argue they are left or left centre -
  13. you would need to be cautious on what your investment strategy is - if this is a short timeline until you are 55 - balls out equity or more conservative Although - People are starting to consider their Pension as a living investment in that still allows or growth after you retire - worthy of taking look at 20-30 historical timeline, to see if want to participate in the ups and downs of the market
  14. are these the things you were using ? https://www.pride.com/sex/2016/10/04/10-things-you-should-know-about-poppers#media-gallery-media-0
  15. Frank Lefevre in the early 90's was pioneer of no win no fee - I recall seeing what their commission was from one of the helicopter crashes were in the early 90's https://www.quantumclaims.com/about-us/history/ Pretty sure that Public Bodies self insure, and will have a budget, to avoid legal fees
  16. well I don't believe you will get any conservative party member, trying to argue they are left or left centre
  17. any voter defines themselves by the way they vote - right, left centre middle etc - they make that choice themselves -
  18. is it inaccurate though ? + majority are in England, so i will hardly be upset if they are offended - I guess Scotland only has 1.2 Million of Tory voters or how would you define a Conservative Voter ?
  19. motivated by self interest, with no consideration for other's willing to act to the obvious disadvantage of other's as long as "I'm alright" Or have a "what's in it for me " attitude now coming from a farming background, I think farmers are some of the biggest kent's and vote conservative and have this attitude - being from that background, well qualified, good pay I guess lot of folk think that i should be conservative but i am not I've had conversations with farmers who due to their bias were quite happy that the EU subsidies due to Scotland hill farmers, were passed out to English farmers "nae caring - would only be a small amount per acre" https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-49362698
  20. which bit ? selfish kents - runs pretty true in my experience can't think of any conservative voter that i know, who that does not apply to - pretty much the core driver to their character
  21. I always considered conservative voters selfish kents - no doubt they will have sorted themselves out with a good personal pension so the 75 thing will not impact them
  22. Pensions been bouncing around a lot this last 2 weeks with Trump/China/Brexit etc Mine is up 48% from Investment 3 years ago, when i consolidated my Pensions, but down 4% from what is was 2 weeks ago - 23% for the YTD I am likely too much into Equity
  23. bollox to 75 (unless you want to manage some business to keep yourself interested which i know some folk do, but they are rich, and its a pass time) I want to retire at 55 But difficult question is how much money is enough
  24. Spain will give citizenship going back to folk who's ancestors left in the 1500's http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/LOSANGELES/en/ServiciosConsulares/CSLA/Paginas/CSLA (English)/Nationality-for-Sephardic-Jews.aspx
