  1. That's a comparison that will only last another month or so. She's in this for all the right reasons. That's all anyone needs to concern themselves with. There will be plenty stuffed shirts in the Commons that sneer at her but I'm sure she'll acquit herself well enough.
  2. He's looking to stand for the next mayor of London apparently. He's a self-licking chocolate.
  3. No story in Creepy Jim preaching to the few faithful left but the scribes still have to cover it, so...er...let's liven it up a bit and get some colour in otherwise dull copy. Sean? That you? It's ????? from the ????? here...Did you know... You don't go digging if you're likely to uncover your own corpse
  4. The main guy behind it is Dan Macdonald of Macdonald Estates (Edin-based property group).
  5. Passed through Porty today and Tommy Shepherd's SNP shop was packed.Looked a bit like Next at the Boxing Day sale.
  6. So Red Tory Murphy goes out campaigning with Thatcher lookalike and he doesn't expect anti-austerity protesters to shout at him?
  7. He's either done a Phillip Schofield and accepted he's grey; his local shop's run out of Just for Men; or he's feeling the pressure of branch management. http://wingsoverscotland.com/the-toll-taken/
  8. Ask Ruth Davidson - she'll have the inside track on this sort of thing.
  9. I think Rangers actually have two points It's in their interest to allow season ticket holders in for free. So they are correct and justified on that point. But I can't help feel they are airing a grievance in trying to limit the cash that goes to the other league clubs/SPFL - many of whom they feel are/were against them in their recent issues. If they do feel that way, then - rightly or wrongly - it's probably justified as well. .
  10. Hope his team go down. Probably one of the most objectionable managers in the game. But I suppose as someone who fancies himself as England's hardest man he'll think he can get away with lacking decency.
  11. He also seems to be developing the kind of mad spinning eye that the Nigel Farage figure in Newzoids has.
  12. His faux sincerity is dripping out the bottom of my telly.
  13. It's really simple. Newspapers write for their readers. If their readership changes, they reflect that.
  14. Didn't hear it all so might have missed some context but I heard Fatty Holmes say something about a vote in Manchester or Birmingham not having the same influential effect as one in Scotland. Even if there was infallible extenuating context to what he was saying, it doesn't matter. He's still the type of khunt that would lick chocolate off his own ar5e if his tongue could reach it.
  15. Maybe you weren't out robbing houses in the same streets as me Sleeping No's may be quite difficult to call this election. Some wanted Devo Max and some just simply didn't like Salmond. My neighbour was a No simply because of Salmond (but liked the idea of Devo Max). He likes Nicola, so is voting SNP.
  16. Maybe you checked the box that cuts out future texts? Some folk did this thinking it would just stop all the marketing pi5h the SFA send out, but it seems to stop all communications.
  17. Another great haunt - full of friendly oddballs and eccentrics. And a great juke box. Plus, it comes with the bonus of you being able to come out the door at 1am, tumble down the steps and roll down the pavement to the door of Pivo, where you can carry on drinking until 3am. Cask and the Barony are also great drinking dens, as are Cumberland Bar and Star Bar.
  18. One thing I've noticed about Edinburgh is the amount of SNP posters etc in windows of houses in some of the city's most expensive areas (Grange, Blacket, Murrayfield, Morningside/Cluny, Blackhall). Even saw one in Ann Street. During the indy ref it was 'No Thanks' posters in most windows in these areas. All we need is the guy in Edinburgh's most expensive house to put one up. But he's an Afghani, so not sure how he'll vote.
  19. Persevere is a great traditional-style bar and well worth a visit. The Percy is next door (but part of the pub) and operates as a dining area for the bar. Both good for before the game. Also, as Eastiebeastie says, the Mash Tun (on the way to Easter Rd from Persevere) is also good. While the Cafe Royal is a nice setting, it's often full on a Friday night of pretentious finance workers furiously networking and trying to sha-g 'Donna' from compliance. Guildford Arms (next door) is the place to go. Again, a traditional bar, more full of real people (and 'home' to some TA guys). When it closes, you can then head to the Voodoo Rooms (above the Cafe Royal). Either way, it's three bars in one building and you won't meet any wee neds in any of them. And there's night busses and a taxi rank next to the Balmoral.
  20. I wouldn't touch Tesco shares - other than to option them. This morning's price action, to me, has so far been almost entirely predictable. The shares may get some temporary upside from the overall direction the business will have to take in reshaping itself and the latest UK LFL figures, but Tesco's overall margin is the pits and that's what the fundamentals-based investors will focus on largely.
  21. I'd agree with that, Malcolm Chisholm is a really decent person, having had him as an MSP. Lazarowicz is also a pretty decent but loses some points in the good lad stakes for his one-time romance with the current director of communications for SLAB and the subject of... http://www.heraldscotland.com/civil-servant-who-made-snp-racist-jibe-quits-key-post-1.827705
  22. Since G.I.P took over the running from BAA it's gone to hell. It used to be a good airport, now it's just an ever-expanding shopping mall with a runway outside. Still, as long as Lord (sphincter mouth) George's wee boy's in charge of the PR there it will continue to be described as anything other than what it actually is.
  23. Looks like the Times has got an new SNP production editor. Lovely juxtaposition.
