  1. Hi Davy. Two seats, please. P.S. Just paypalled you.
  2. Son was working in Kazakhstan a few months ago. Reckoned although it's low temperatures it's such a dry cold it doesn't feel so bad. Anyone know for sure?
  3. Just booked the Duman in Saryarka district. Open to better offers if there are any. Have we got any local info?
  4. With the Tories apparently ready to split, can anyone explain the failure of Labour to be well ahead in the polls? Genuine question. Sticking with the Tories goes well beyond masochism, but many are doing just that.
  5. There were a couple of theories discussed after the game, neither of which would be good news for Eck. Changing planes on the way home someone checked his phone and announced that Eck had resigned. Obviously not true but this news was cheered.
  6. It's the worst because it's the most recent. In time the memory of the misery of Thursday night will fade - but I don't recall another time when I was among so many really angry fans at the end of a game. Whatever the boy from the SFA was trying to do it was making things worse. Anyone have any footage of him?
  7. Big thanks to Davy P for organising the buses. No small task, and as far as I know things went as well as could be hoped. We all got to the game and back. BTW, there weren't any bogs on our bus, just some very damp bushes as we got near Haifa. Thanks to Sonya the bus convenor for stopping the bus. See you in Albania. 👍
  8. Two seats available going from Ben Gurion airport to Tel Aviv, Wednesday 10th. We’re arriving on Easyjet Flight U22563 from Milan, and we’re going to the centre of town. Minibus booked for 11:50. Also, two airport transfer seats available leaving Tel Aviv at 09:00 on Friday. £10 each seat each way. PM me if interested.
  9. Hi Davy, what time will the buses leave? I'm arranging a trip on the Thursday and need to be sure we'll be back in time.

PS. The tour ends in Jerusalem at 2 pm. Do you know what the best way is to get back to Tel Aviv? The tour company is suggesting a $65 surcharge for the journey.

Train might be the quickest way as motorway to Jerusalem had a lot of road works on my last visit and traffic was slow moving at times

  10. OK. I remember the John Wayne walk back in Graz 2005 when it was roasting. Will pack the sudocrem 😉
  11. Rob, interested in Bethlehem and Jerusalem. Might be a daft question, but is doing the tourist bit in the kilt an option? Travelling with hand luggage only.
  12. The 06:00 Wizz Air from Luton on Thursday 15th Nov has been cancelled. They offered us the day before, which was no use, due to work. Flights from Gatwick with BA still available on Thursday afternoon.
  13. Can I make that nine, please?
  14. Whoever tops Group G plays Japan, and presumably beats them; then faces the winner of Brazil v Mexico. Isn't it all about wanting to avoid Brazil in the quarters?
  15. Nothing in this region is simple, but the Saudis are bombing a neighbouring state. This is killing civilians and disrupting the infrastructure as a result of which aid (including food) cannot get through. The Iranians may have incited the Huthis to revolt, but it's the Saudi bombing that is causing the worst damage. And the UK and USA are cashing in.
  16. I don't think it's denial, they're just in a complete state of confusion. Would be pathetic and a bit funny if it wasn't so serious.
  17. Stopping off for a couple of days in Hong Kong in a few weeks. Last did this in 2009, and back then I asked on here for advice. Listed from last time: Happy Valley race course The Peak Kowloon – Nathan Road and Mong Kok markets Wanchai – Canny Man, White Stag, Devil’s Advocate, Stanley market Various suggestions for the best food in town Any updates / other recommendations? I’m staying near the Temple Street Night Market this time.
  18. Everyone I've asked so far from Dundee / Perth is giving this one a miss. Any buses heading down from there?
