  1. Naisy played on the left of a forward 3 when in attack in a 4-3-3 which turns into a 4-5-1 in defence. He has excelled there in the past for both Scotland and Everton. He is not a good enough centre forward at Everton or Scotland international level. Brilliant today in probably his best position when played as part of that formation which is similar to ours. First Everton Chelsea game I've missed for 6 years. Gutted. He still isn't much liked amongst the Goodson crowd but this will go a long way to silencing his critics, for a while. Outstanding performance and as well as I've seen him play for a long, long time. Good lad is naisy. Pleased to see him do well.
  2. Portsmouth Dunfermline Charlton Swansea Hibs 15/1
  3. Having previously been an iss fan who switched to Fifa I'm kinda fed up with the non advancement of the game in the last couple of years. I'm not interested in ultimate team and only play career mode which is pretty poor. I've played both pes and Fifa demos and its pes who are getting my cash this year for the first time in many years, pre ordered for 15th. Far better gameplay and a break from the Fifa rehashed monotity. Plus it's a tenner cheaper! Apparently this year Sony will allow the game to be updated via memory stick meaning that the issues of non licensed teams will be easily rectified. All the reviews I've read seem to point towards the fact that pes has finally gotten back to the glory days and has far surpassed Fifa. The demos seem to back this up.
  4. Unlike Forrest? I tend to agree with you on your assessment on most players but to take the opportunity to dismiss Anya is a cheap one considering forrest's only noteworthy involvement was running head down until the ball ran out of play. As per usual. Anya isn't a world beater and had a poor game. Robertson and him don't work as they take each other's space. Forrest is a poor, poor player. It has been exposed so many times. And don't give me the strachan rates him nonsense you usually do. Strachan played a 3-6-1 in the second half that was so utterly disjointed it became ridiculous.
  5. McCarthy? Must be pished. For what it's worth I think most of us would've been happy with the starting line up. It was the second half when we went 3-6-1 when it was quite obvious the players did not have an utter clue what they were doing where the criticism lies. The first half we at least competed. After strachans changes we were an absolute shambles. I feel your pain. We are better than that. Wee Gordon has done well for us but the blame for this match, the second half anyways and indeed the first half in the rep which could've cost us lies exclusively at his door
  6. Remember being highly suspicious of michel platini's attendance at the game that evening. The head of uefa at the Georgia vs Scotland game when there were some massive games going on. And there was the very real possibility of one of the big 5 countries in terms of income for the tournament at the cusp of missing out due to us. The McFadden penalty incident did nothing to elude my fears. Found it very strange. Still do. But we were awful that night. I've got the fear that the heat may have a massive impact upon us. We ain't accustomed to that. I think it will have an influence on the game, I just hope not enough of an influence to cost us.
  7. The Kevin bridges one is actually very good. Just a guy who is passionate about football talking about his love of the game with a few really funny moments. Well worth a listen. I've really enjoyed the ones I've listened to: moyes, strachan and bridges if I ever get any prolonged free time again I'll be listening to some more.
  8. Chelsea Man City Aberdeen Don't often bet against my team but the Dons will hammer thistle. Just shy of 2/1.
  9. Miralles has hardly played this season as well and is a far, far better player than Naismith, he may not have the same work ethos that Steven has but he is immensely more talented. The worrying thing is Martinez, who is clearly a Naismith fan, would rather play cleverly out of position and Kone, who has been good this season but generally shite, rather than him. I genuinely think his time at Everton is coming to an end. Maybes not a bad thing for us and him.
  10. I agree. Completely. He is way off it just now for whatever reason. He is a scapegoat for the Everton fans, but it's only just resurfaced after a period of grace the last year or so. There is a reason for that. He has been utterly shocking so far this season. Granted only a few games in. And I have watched every minute of everton's games this season including 3 preseason games that he was involved in. One thing I'm certain about though is that he'll give his absolute best for us if selected.
  11. Despite his goal naisy has been utterly atrocious this evening. Looks like a player who hasn't played for a while. I'm being kind, he actually looks like a player who hasn't played for a few years. Not alone in that Everton team this evening to be fair. I like him and he is deserving of his place in the squad, as a starter, not in this form, caused probably by a lack of games. Don't see where he fits in our team with the options we have available to be honest. Great option from the bench though.
  12. Middlesbrough Sheffield United double for me 1.19/1 on 365 Edited as I've added QPR just shy of 3/1
  13. That's why I said most people use it in an non derogatory manner without knowingly doing so. It is derived from a derogatory term and could be deemed offensive irrespective of whether the individual realised the connotations or not. The world like the term used for local convenience stores ran by Pakistani individuals should not be used. In my opinion of course. It is a fact that both terms are derived from offensive terms though.
  14. It's a derogatory term for the Chinese people. It might not be used by many in a knowingly derogatory manner but it is. A derivative of the word "chink" which was used as an offence term towards the Chinese people.
  15. Whether it came off or not is irrelevant. I love seeing players trying to entertain and try something different, it's supposed to be entertainment business. The reaction this attempt at playing to the crowd made by a young lad is laughable. It's not unique to our game. Neymar got absolute pelters for trying to take the piss in the copa America this summer. Similar situation. Some pros and ex pros need to dry their eyes. I'd happily watch that kind of skill against my teams as I love the game and want to be entertained when paying good money.
  16. I listened and it is brilliant! Great shout! Sports donkey has been a real let down though. Other options which are fantastic though. Well worth the cash.
  17. Makes Archibald's usual tactics against Celtic on Sunday for the jags look even more flawed (if possible in my eyes) than ever. They aren't world beaters. Best team in Scotland, yes, but not untouchable. Teams need to take them on and believe they can get something rather than show no ambition whatsoever and hope to scrape a 0-0 a la Archie. Well done killie. And well done kallum. Will be sorely missed as flair is slowly being erridicated / suppressed from my side.
  18. As a jag I'd completely agree. The issue about handball decisions would be much better served if it went back to what the laws say. Itentional handball = foul. This interpretation that Fifa have dictated about the unnatural position just confuses the issue. If you don't mean to hand ball it it's not a foul if you do it is. Simple. Intent can be misinterpreted obviously but It makes it so much easier for refs and fans and goes back to how the game was meant to be played.
  19. He has played at a decent level for a while but has been almost exclusively utter shite for us when he has played. I would share the same concerns re Cairney I just don't understand why he hasn't been involved for us, unless there has been a mindset change by him. He played for us and played extremely well at u21 level. I hope it's just strachan thinks he ain't quite ready and nothing more.
  20. A mutual agreement here. If a guy like Cairney can't get into a squad then we are in a good place at the moment. I do think he is far better than some that have been included. McGregor and even MacArthur come to mind.
  21. No he says his players don't dive, they do of course and will be encouraged to do so. I was with a club up here who did training on how to dive. It's part of the game, unfortunately. And Gary Cahill is a good player. You don't get to the level he has without being so.
  22. Tom cairney is a guy who will be capped by us. Just a matter of time. A fantastic player. Should've probably been more involved by now.
  23. Yes he was. I'd agree. Id trust Jose mourinho's opinion on him more than yours though to be fair. He rates him and has made two 20+ million pound bids for him. You don't. An individual, extremely unusual error from a young guy doesn't make him "decent, no more".
  24. You have just admitted you haven't seen much of stones but list the exact same qualities that stones has shown in a far tougher league and conclude that VvD is a better player. I'll have to respectfully disagree. I do agree he would be far higher rated and valued financially if he played elsewhere than Scotland though which is the point I was originally trying to make. Automatically our league leads to a devaluation of a player, rightly or wrongly. On that we obviously agree.
  25. You can't have seen much of stones then? He is an outstanding centre half. As good as I've ever seen for someone of his age. VvD is a smashing big player as well, of that there is no doubt. Because he plays in Scotland he won't go for the same price of a player of equivalent ability, that's just the way it is. He will go to an EPL team and before long will be talked about in the 20million mark I think but a player leaving Scotland will not generate their club more than 10million nowadays.
