  1. http://tartanarmyboard.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=3640 I was going to go, but a change of plans means I can't. Oh well...
  2. Was there over Xmas and NY. I was very disappointed in the place, however the terrible weather probably contributed to that a lot. The best place I visited was the Rahmi M Koç Museum, and the Modern Art Gallery. The restaurant attached to the gallery is excellent as well, and it overlooks the Bosphorus. I found the Turkish food I have in London to be better than Istanbul - but then again I live in a very Turkish area, so I'm spoilt.
  3. Log into SSC site. http://www.scottishfa.talent-sport.co.uk/PagesPublic/Home/Home.aspx
  4. Tweezer them out Derek - how's it going? My mate is coming over to Tokyo on holiday, and is looking for a Sports Bar to watch Hibs game. Any suggestions?
  5. Roasted cheese is the correct Scottish term, however all are wrong. Cheese on toast ain't right. I could toast bread then place a slice of cheddar on it - that is cheese on toast. Grilled Cheese, is just cheese minus the bread, placed under the grill. Toasted cheese is no different. from above. Roasted cheese is the same, but placed in the oven. It should be - Grilled Cheese on Toast. Aye, Audrey is fine - she would have made a great Vulcan in Star Trek.
  6. There are lots of makes of coconut oil, some are quite coconutty, others are tasteless. The KTC brand is tasteless/odourless.
  7. When I first looked at the picture it was white and gold, and then I scrolled through this thread and read the comments. I then scrolled back to the top, and the dress had turned blue and black.
  8. I'm surprised you even need to ask that question!
  9. Angkor Wat is an incredible place. You have the big main temple, which is great to look at. However, I much prefer the smaller satellite ones - especially the one with the overgrown trees. That is amazing. The closet town is Siem Reap, however there isn't really anything else there to warrant more than your visit to Angkor Watt. Depending on how much of a tourist buff you are, you could get away with one night in Siem Reap, and spend the whole day at AW. There is nothing in Phnom Penh, apart from the crazy traffic (I would go there just to try to cross the road once). Apart from one temple and a poor museum, then there is nothing else worth staying more than a night for. You can drive (get driven) to Siem Reap - it'll take about 6 hours and it is an experience. Cambodian folk are really friendly. I was seriously disappointed in Ho Chi Minh City - don't like the city, the people or the attitude. I haven't been anywhere else in Vietnam, but I doubt I'll go back to find out if it is better.
  10. Yup - mine arrived too - cheers. All very professional - big responsibility to not lose them and/or remember to take them to Faro.
  11. It would take a coordinated boycott from the big football superpowers to change things, and even then it would probably result in a breakaway World Football Association instead of FIFA changing. You'd be lucky to name more than 2 or 3 that might stick their neck out.
  12. Jeff Beck was one of those guitar players I just couldn't get into. Back when I was totally into guitar (late 80's/early 90's), the Guitar magazines fawned all over him. I bought and listened to Flash and Guitar Shop - but nah, I just couldn't see what folk rave about. Folk go on about Clapton, Page and Beck, but Beck is miles behind Clapton, and even further behind Page.
  13. Last points table: http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_football.cfm?page=3141 If all 10-4 pointers take their allocation, then that is 3210. So, unless the SFA's VIP allocation comes off the 3,500, then the ballot will go to 3 pointers. 3 of my mates, who are on 4 or more points are not going, so that 3210 gets reduced already.
  14. Hibs will probably get beat - I've followed them long enough to know these things!
