  1. Certainly, the Company was a legal entity. Bruce describes the football club as a business. Does a business not require some legal identity - Ltd, LLP, partnership, sole trader etc? I would have thought yes, in which case would there not be separate accounts for the Company and the football club?
  2. So, what type of business was rangers football club? By that I mean what legal entity, I know it was a football club ;-).
  3. bruce, in your example I guess your McDonalds and your Gold Club would each do separate accounts as separate businesses? I fully agree your Company could sell either or both of those businesses. Did Rangers FC do accounts though, or was it only the Company that did accounts?
  4. Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive - in UK Bee Gees - Tragedy - in US Not sure which is funnier.
  5. Seems logical as once you go east of Drumsagard/Newton there is nothing for a bit until you get to Uddingston/Blantyre but I'm in Cambuslang and pay my cooncil tax to South Lanarkshire, so I don't class it as Glasgow. I played football not far from where I live now before I moved to this area and would have probably just said it was Glasgow then .

  7. Lowest so far but still over half, 51. I need to get to Inverness sometime and where was Campbeltown?
  8. I think we were about £7.50 on electricity for a couple of nights back in february.
  9. I have a T8 box but have also since downloaded the Kodi app to my andriod phone and after running the Wookie Wizard am able to do pretty much the same things. Ok, the box probably does more than just run Kodi but so far i've not used it for anything else. Having been casting whats on my phone to my tv, i'm now wondering if i needed the box at all.
  10. Highland Safari is fairly nearby too.
  11. Re the CIS game, we couldn't qualify, but they could after they drew with Germany & Netherlands. In fact, with a win over us they would have qualified, so its probably fair to say they were not treating it like a friendly.
  12. I certainly wasn't one of the bad kids at school but I did find myself suspended for the maximum permitted, I think, two weeks in my 4th year along with two of my mates. We had discovered there was money to be made in in selling bottles of Poppers for a fiver that we had bought for next to nothing, about 60 bottles in total, on a trip to Glasgow. We took a wee turn in to Argyle Street to pick up our supplies. On getting back home and at school on the Monday word had spread that we were selling these and soon a couple of dozen folk had them. I suppose it was inevitable someone was going to get caught. I actually think we were reported but it all started with folk getting caught with them in the toilet and of course it made its way back to us. It certainly sounded like the Senior Staff knew what was going on by the time by the time I got called in. Some of the info they had was incredible and it was hard to deny. So the three of us got the full two weeks off and some others who got caught with them got a few days. I remember it was in the Star or some other paper under the headline 'Sex drug shocker rocks school' The two weeks off were pretty good, golf in the morning and tennis or football in the afternoon. One day in particular the three of us were playing football and one of the PE teachers passed finding it difficult to hide her smile. We even had a visits from Social Work at home, which was probably routine but it felt crazy considering all three of us were otherwise really grounded lads who got on well at school. For weeks after folk would be up asking us if we had any left - of course we did, but we kept any dealings well away from the school. I both laugh and cringe a bit at it now - probably mostly when I think of how my mum and dad probably felt.
  13. This thread is a fairly accurate description of my first year in Glasgow, 1997. Stayed in Baird Hall so all these were all very familiar, probably too much so.
  14. The nil rate band is now transferrable so not lost on first death. Survivor gets use of any unused portion on second deat.
  15. They don't think much of Alan Reid then? Argyll & Bute is only one of 11 Lib Dem held seats where the best tactical vote is apparently not the sitting MP.
  16. Thanks, Scunnered. I'll have a look at that later - back to work now I'm afraid. Just to be clear, (well, I think anyway!) I have just agreed to be a visual presence at the door, not what I would class as polling station staff.
  17. I've just agreed to a wee shift at my local polling station door from 9pm to close of the polls next week. It has just struck me that might involve observing the closing of the ballot boxes, is that likely to be the case? Its not something I've done before so anything I should be aware of? I'll probably nip in to my campaign shop this weekend but thought the TAMB would be as good a place to look for answers!
