  1. But that's just it. Where are all these new members going to come from? Membership from last renewal period was down and for the life of me can't see it being greater this time round.
  2. When you going here Charles?
  3. So why the rush to renew now? Why not wait until later? Surely the money is better in your account than theirs? If very low numbers renewed now and the SFA saw that mid to end of January only a few hundred or just a few thousand had renewed do you not think they might panic a bit. I very very much doubt they would alter pricing but i'm sure they would at least be extremely concerned.
  4. I'm not renewing. Been a member since 1993. Each to their own of course, however, I simply can't understand why anyone who has moaned at ticket prices and renewal prices and is renewing would do it now and not on the 1st of February. I sacked some of the home games last time round as a personal protest at ticket prices. I refuse to be fleeced any longer. To want £45 from me before announcing ticket costs - no chance. I'll get tickets for any home match easily enough apart from England and after being at 80 odd away games am pretty sure i'll be able to secure away tickets should I wish to travel. Cheerio SSC.
  5. Why don't we sing the national anthems of all the other countries who have had terrorist atrocities against them this week? We could all go in a couple of hours before kick off for a practice. Absolute over the top nonsence.
  6. Think how I felt. I had a £1 correct score double on 2-1 Sweden and 1-0 Slovenia. was paying £66.50
  7. Over 8000 recently applied for the 300 train driver jobs they are creating over the next three years. Think that was in the main due to them advertising the full salary package which after 6 months training is >24K and once training is comple 18 months after that the package is between 42 and 44K. Not too shabby. Someone i know currently training says it's the hardest job in the world to get into but by all accounts the easiest job to lose!!!
  8. same at the Happy Mondays gig last night. I just don't get it. Also a very neddish element there last night.
  9. I paid £495 just to have my Raymond Weil watch fixed in the summer!!!
  10. Finding it almost impossible to pick a winning coupon this season. Waiting on Spurs tonight for £58. I'm already thinking now that Sherwood's gone Villa will up their game and hutton will score a 30 yard screamer to make it 1 - 0 to Villa.
  11. And if I did am I a) a chancer a dancer c) a romancer or d) none of the above
  12. Brilliant Kev, well done. i'll certainly be purchasing a copy. Did I make it into it?
  13. Why didn't you back to Skopje with the Dons? Ideal opportunity! Much improved again even since Scotland's second visit.
  14. tartanpar, I can see where you're coming from and understand that by utilising the membership in the way that you do then savings can be made and that undoubtedly the SFA will point to members such as yourself to advertise its benefits but for the vast majority of its 30000 odd members it does not represent value for money. Would you not agree? By your own admission the majority of members are only purchasing membership for home matches. If the majority of those people opened their eyes and didn't renew then i'm sure we would see a degree of panic from the SFA. with regards to revenue coming in. Out of curiosity since you will renew at these prices, what do you think the ticket prices should be for the forthcoming campaign, bearing in mind you are trying to sell 52000 tickets for Thursday/Sunday/Monday night matches against less than glamorous opposition?
  15. Well if that it is the case, then why would so many be prepared to shell out that kind of money to be charged exorbitant ticket prices for matches on top of membership? Guaranteed not one match in the World Cup campaign will sell out apart from England and I'm prepared to say that even if the SFA were gracious enough to drop prices by 20%. Look at the timings and days of home matches. Do you seriously think there will be huge crowds at even £35 a ticket for Monday night against Malta, Sunday/Thursday against Slovakia/Slovenia. Bear in mind there will be next to no travelling support either from these countries. The SFA have a chance here to say £20 a ticket for each home game but a premium price for the England game which sadly they will achieve whatever it is.
  16. I'm not waiting to see how much they want to fleece me. For the first time since Portugal 1993 I truly have had enough. A culmination of little things over the years has taken it's toll. Now that I am no longer a fan and deemed as a mere customer they can do one. Not one match was a sell out at home in the last campaign so I am 100% sure I will obtain a ticket for any home match I wish to attend. I will now take my chance for any away game. I'm on the verge of chucking that all together anyway. After 80 odd away games again i'm fairly confident of securing a ticket for any game I wish to go to. What galls me is with the England game being when it is and the time it is at, no matter what they charge it will sell. Glasgow that day would be a good place to be well away from. Incidentally part of my wishing to chuck it altogether is the behaviour of fans/supporters at home games. the amount of infighting and i'm better than you attitude is becoming pathetic. Maybe i'm just getting too old. I don't think so and if many of my ilk are likeminded it will be interesting to see figures for membership renewal.
  17. They're the same size anyway Charlie. (height wise)
