  1. Thanks for sharing, some good stuff in there
  2. 4 goals and 9 assists in 26 caps. A very decent return.
  3. Think that’s a good shout. If I remember correctly Clarke called up Gilmour and Patterson from the under 21s at the last euros due to the increased squad size. Think Max Johnston could come into the reckoning too
  4. Patterson utterly shot of form and confidence. Ralston couldn’t do any worse. But in the absence of Hickey, I’d be tempted to try Max Johnston. Youngster playing regularly at a club in a title race (ok not in a standout league, but no worse than the Scottish Premiership). Looked good for the under 21s. Patterson a couple of years ago looked great. But right now he is abysmal and a weak link. Maybe he’ll turn it round. Maybe not. Worth giving a shot to another youngster on an upward curve in their career and presumably brimming with confidence.
  5. Apparently Chelsea and Arsenal leading the race to sign 15 year old Aberdeen centre back Lewis Carroll. Cue lots of bad Lewis in Wonderland chat
  6. Now that Ryan a Christie can cover a holding midfield role, you could swap in Fraser for Ryan Jack without losing too much from the squad
  7. McGinn just voted villa fans player of 2023. The best player in their best team in decades
  8. Didn’t see the game tonight but normally watch a lot of Brighton. Most of their fans giving him man of the match in a game they consider to be one of the biggest of their history (first season in Europe). Supposedly 100% pass completion and dominating the midfield. Sounds amazing.
  9. No exaggeration to say McGinn must be one of the players of the season so far in the Premier League
  10. Cheers, I kind of guessed it would be. Germany play Hungary in the early evening kick off followed by the Switzerland game. I imagine the fan parks will be electric. Still prefer to get to the game of course!!
  11. Anyone booked travel with a real possibility they won’t actually get any tickets? I don’t quite have enough points to get tickets through the loyalty points scheme (no arguments, just a fact of life). Nevertheless me and my brother have booked flights and accommodation to coincide with the Switzerland game. Will look at all avenues to get tickets but accept there’s a fair chance we might miss out. Anyone experienced going to a tournament without actually getting to a game?! Is it still worth the trip?
  12. I agree with you. Our defence was awful last night. We need to find a way to play the back 3 with wing backs when Tierney is out. I realise he wasn’t available last night but wonder if Hickey could play the role. Solid at the back and good on the ball.
  13. I’d like to see Shankland start tomorrow night, but can’t really understand why you’re doubling down on the left it too late argument. He brought on fresh legs and a totally different type of striker when their defenders were tired. Also, there’s always around 7 mins of injury time now. Plus, as you acknowledge yourself, it worked out.
  14. The fact is that 2 subs he brought on literally combined to score the equalising goal. Everything else is conjecture. If timing had been different maybe we score two or maybe we score none! I’d say he did alright with the subs.
  15. From the last round of games, it appears that Max Johnson is next in line after Patterson. Ralston would be a contender for next backup. Also, Harrison Ashby has played a number of games in the Championship this season. Looking further ahead, Calvin Ramsay finally seems to be coming back from injury.
  16. Only joking bud, totally get your point. Seemed too good an opportunity to miss 😉 We do seem to have more midfielders than we know what to do with. In recent years Man City have played many times without a recognised forward in the team, but not sure our players have the experience or nous to make the system work without a recognised forward. Club teams have more time to perfect different tactical systems. I’d be very surprised if we lined up without Adams or Dykes up front.
  17. Cheers, if we get through a handful of good players at each age group I suppose it’s moving in the right direction
  18. Syecosse, any idea how many of those players came through the Performance Schools?
  19. And a goal now. Gilmour starting v Ajax later but Doak out injured for Liverpool
  20. Well he more or less had to say that based on the question and the context of the interview. I’d be very surprised if he was suddenly called up now given that he hasn’t been called up before now
