aaid
I see that Anya, Rhodes, Griffiths and McArthur all played today. McArthur gets a pass as it seems Strachan let him leave the squad as his partner was due to give birth.
saintlyscot
Seemed feck all wrong with Anya. Still irked by his celebration and after match against Germany away...All that's wrong with our mentality.
aaid
Add Kevin McDonald to that list.
gp1893
I might have heard it wrong, but im sure it said on match of the day last night that if a player misses an international due to injury then he has to miss the next club match. id never heard this before so maybe i heard it wrong. But a week is a long time to recover from a knock, id have thought griffiths, Rhodes and mcdonald would all have been desperate to play. noctonjock
That used to be right at one time, ithink it was Gerrard who pulled out of an england squad and then wasn't allowed to play in the next Liverpool game but uefa changed it again

Jaggy Jim
Think it is still the rule but countries rarely enforce it for fear of pissing off the clubs.
radian_13
If a player is called up to play for his country but refuses, the Internaltional team can get FIFA to ban the player for his next club game
