littleboyblue
All was good for a while and I could play music, which exists on my phone, via my TV over the wireless network. Now, only the tracks that were pre loaded on the phone are visible via the TV, although the phone will still play everything itself directly. I'm controlling things via the TV as I always have done, rather than an app on the phone (which might be a solution?). Still, it does not explain what has changed. When the phone is connected to my laptop I can see the tracks that are visible and the tracks/albums that are not visible all sit in the same folder, which has got me confused. Any ideas? Brummie Hibs
No idea, but I would suggest that you inform the forum: - What make and model your phone is - Your make and model of TV - What apps you are using to play the music back
littleboyblue
OK. A Sony Z3 Compact A Samsung Smart TV but not sure which model. The technology will be the same for all I'm sure. I've not needed an app on the phone until now, only the software already built in to the TV.
OLAS
Enable DNLA on your laptop with all your music. I think a Z3 is Android. There are lots of apps that will see your DNLA server (laptop) and your DNLA renderer (TV) and act as the bridge/remote control. BubbleUPnP is one of the best Your telly will also see all your music when the laptop has DNLA enabled I think Windows Media Player has this built in. littleboyblue
Thanks, OLAS. I have used an app in the end, which I thought would work. Doesn't really get to the bottom of what the problem was, since it was working before without an app but not really bothered about that now. I could see the music on my laptop fine, it was only the phone that was causing a problem.
