  1. OK, only playing this for the hair (B-side to Edge of a Broken Heart.)
  2. They probably did get it about right in the end, for the UK as a whole at least...
  3. Labour will no longer look like a lost cause, and will be the danger next time.
  4. Still pissed that I lost the box for this when I fell asleep on a plane with the cassette-single in my Walkman. Yeah, on this one I think...
  5. I'd say you were smart casual but... Anyway, this is a first for me. Fashion
  6. The white sleeves don't seem to be causing any colour clash.
  7. Should have been 2 there anaw
  8. Loved Ohrid. A smallish town, and is the touristy bit of Macedonia. Lots of small bars/restaurants, with probably something for all tastes. The hill around the fortress is testing in the heat, but a nice view. Had some fun in a storm there ourselves. Sitting in an open restaurant perched over the lake, we could see it coming in across the water. Soon the waves were coming up through the floor while the rain fell in the beer. There'll be live folk music playing in some restaurants. There were some restaurants up the hill around a church (St Sophia?) which were quite romantic at night. The tiny St Jovan Kaneo church is very picturesque in the sun. Macedonian bevvy is Rakija (as an aperitif or digestive ) and beer is usually Skopsko. Instead of butter, try ajvar (red pepper spread) on yer bread. Night life, I dunno. Usually knackered and gone to bed early.
  9. Not sure what my reaction will be if Tory gains in Scotland maintain their majority. Maybe laugh and cry.
  10. 2166 Hamilton me. The greatest mixture of teenage lads ever (no girls back then). And I do mean mixture. Loved my time there, but did a tremendous amount of marchin' up and down. In the mix I guess I was the *nerdy one, but that quiz was hard as you know. There was my best pal, who I've sadly lost touch with (my fault). The flight sergeant was my look-up-to guy; I think he saved my life dragging me from the bottom trying to get a swimming cert. Did he say "swim you wee cnut" or did I imagine that on my third time under. There was the "kinky" cadet that seemed to be in charge of initiation ceremonies ...very unfashionable these days. The guy who never ran a yard in his life, but took a stretch and won everything at the sports (except the races I asked him not to compete ). The first black guy I ever met, and was the coolest and funniest guy in Hamilton. The pal I shot in the right nut with an air rifle. (Not at Dechmont .303 range thank feck!) Ah, those were the days... *Plus I can explain to Mrs.Grim how an aeroplane flies. Though she doesn't seem to get it
  11. Can't remember any names Bundy, but the restaurant/bar owners were tremendously friendly and keen to explain the food. Kinda low-budget (except the wine bar... where we got told off for asking about beer after a hot climb there ). Tables under trees & canopies in some small, rustic squares were nice. The posher bars are on the other side of the river, where they had different prices for locals vs tourists. The bazaar seems mostly Muslim, so some places are strictly soft drink, but you'll be glad of that in the afternoon perhaps Any, it's been a while, and the place was changing fast (building site), so explore and enjoy. We loved it.
  12. Favourites of mine in Sofia were the Happy Bar & Grill and a cheap wee back street bar called the Up and Down. In Skopje, go across the Old Stone Bridge to the Old Bazaar area for food & drink. We drove from Sofia to Skopje (mainly so we could also visit Ohrid), and it was an adventure in itself. The hire company provided the right border papers & insurance for Macedonia. I needed an international driving permit, but don't see them on the country list any more. August there will be a furnace.
  13. Any ATC out there? This is really tricky if you don't look at the comments (where the anoraks have posted already). If you get more than 2 right you are a cheat https://hushkit.net/2017/05/29/expert-level-aircraft-identification-quiz/ Otherwise, just enjoy ...like the Old Glasgow pics er... like cluster bombs & consumption, I know... sorry.
  14. Good shout. Though confess it's not that I remember the songs. No punk, I was too happy/preoccupied then perhaps, but can at least appreciate the sentiment & sheer energy now. Think I've got pissd-off nostalgia of summit.
  15. A moody 70s B-side. From Tom Petty & co vs It's Only Rock 'n' Roll... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FO8PFRvXoRY
  16. TD, did they still have vinyl then, or was that a nostalgic song? I've just found my old 78s after all My dad liked this side which was maybe (geddit?) B. Watermelon Weather was the mibees-A? They look like a couple of awkward youngsters who would be happier behind some guitar and drums...
  17. Oh that's hard. Gave all my 78s away. I do remember that my sister had some cool(?) singles before she got into David Cassidy. The B-side of Jeepster (which I liked) was Life's a Gas. In comparison then, not a single, but...
