  1. Thanks for the tip. I'm there for the first 2 weeks in August. Does anyone have a link to J League fixtures for that time? I looked online but could not track them down.
  2. Ask him about his appearance in the book The Damned United
  3. Still on i player http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0543ytw/joy-division It's really well made. Great to watch even if you're not a huge fan of the band. Some great footage of Manchester in the 1970s.
  4. Agreed Also Berlin is terrific
  5. Hungary in Budapest please
  6. Going to Japan for 2 weeks in August (yes, I know, it will be hot and humid!). There's some great tops in this thread. We plan to spend time in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Any other recommended places to visit? Osaka sounds good. Any other tips for Japan?
  7. I'm planning to be in Tokyo and Kyoto for the first 2 weeks in August so would love hear of any other recommendations for places to see, things to do etc
  8. And another vote. Broadband speeds better than I get at work - as others have said though you do need to get rough with them when renewal times come around otherwise they will jack prices up
  9. It is indeed. I met him in 2002 in Washington DC when he was touring with Billy Bragg - a great guy
  10. This is going to be THE Frank film http://www.beingfrankmovie.com/info.html
  11. "Much of that abuse even came from the club's own "supporters"." Much of it? Most of it more like. Stamford Bridge was a horrible place to visit in the 1980s. NF and BM literature all over the place. Nevin does go off into fantasy world at times but I suspect a lot of it is just winding people up
  12. Best atmosphere since that game IMO
  13. http://www.scottishfa.talent-sport.co.ukStill on sale. Not surprising at 60 quid a go.......

    Irish Fans

How many home fans will have had Scots sat/stood next to them over the years? Tens of thousands in Paris 2007 and Dortmund 2014 alone - let alone all of the other games over the years where the official Scottish ticket allocation has been too small to meet demand. And let's not even start on the subject of Wembley in the 1970s! This does seem like a bit of a double standard for me - it's fine for the TA to take over other country's home stadiums as that's great support, but if another country has the audacity to do that in Scotland we don't like it. The Irish around me were fine - all great people who took the defeat well. I'd actually expected there to have been many more of them in our sections than there were. The ones I spoke to said that the FAI's ticket allocation had been so badly distributed (combined with there only being 3,029 briefs from the SFA) and so late that flights and hotels were all gone (or too expensive) unless they'd taken a gamble and bought them in advance and that kept the travelling support down. Dublin should be a great trip - if we can get tickets!
  15. It should all be down to personal choice. It's interesting to Sergio Aguero on Football Focus wearing one. I do have to wonder what the likelihood is of an Argentine citizen wearing a Poppy voluntarily. Everyone on the BBC (and other tv channels) seems to be wearing one - I suspect they're automatically festooned in them. And, yes, I do wear a poppy but I totally understand why some people do not.
  16. Frightening to think it's 31 years since this was released. The original by Tim Buckley to my ear is unlistenable. That makes this version all the more impressive.
