  1. I think it's a bit too early to suggest that.
  2. I thought he'd have brought Brown on for his pace to try get Spain on the break but I would say Shankland is better at holding up the ball than Brown and a bit more physical.
  3. Between now and the end of the season it'll be interesting to see how Conway does. I did worry that he'd come back from injury and that early season goalscoring form would just be flash in the pan so it's great to see him scoring on his return.
  4. Haven't seen him play since Wilder took over and they moved to a 3, but I watched him about 3 times playing in a back 4 and he looked very solid
  5. He's probably in for a tough time between now and the end of the season but he just needs to knuckle down and try impress the manager as much as he can in training and there's a good chance one of if, if not both Caicedo & Mac Allister leave in the summer. A bit of adversity should put him in good stead for the future. Remember when Robbo went to Liverpool and he couldn't even get on the bench for the first few months? It was only because Moreno got injured and he came straight in with top performances that he cemented himself as first choice
  6. Jevan Beattie, son of Craig Beattie, is training with Brighton's U23 side.
  7. I must say I've seen a lot of videos from the other night and I've only seen Brown celebrating like the rest, haven't seen any apparent sulking?
  8. BBC reported they were in talks with him, which makes sense given he ended up at Watford
  9. Yeah the game guaranteed a home playoff and one of the danish players afterwards said they struggled with the atmosphere. Need something similar tonight. At times on Saturday it felt like we were playing a friendly both on the pitch and with the atmosphere in the ground
  10. Problem was, especially in the second half, no one made any runs ahead of him so whenever he got the ball he’d have 2 defenders in front of him. On the left side you had tierney, Robbo and Armstrong all exchanging passes whereas on the right side you had Porteous who came forward a bit but not as much as Tierney and then McGinn who was staying very central for the most part. I’ve watched him play on the right for Brentford a few times and he’s always looked very comfortable
  11. The English Championship is a bizzare division. I’ve been watching quite a few of the games on sky since the new year and it varies in quality drastically game to game even sometimes from the same team. One week a team will be playing fluid flowing football the next they’re hoofing it and all the goals are a scrappy mess.
  12. I wasn’t keen on him being picked at first but he’s in the squad now and wants to play so if he’s picked then I’ll cheer him on as much as the rest
  13. Yeah Robertson's dad & grandad both played for Australia so we were never really on the cards
  14. I personally think Hyam is better than Hanley but Clarke seems to rate Hanley and can't see him throwing Hyam straight in. I think we should go with a back 4 against Cyprus but have a feeling Clarke will go with Porteous Hanley Tierney in a 3
  15. I have to laugh at recent interviews from national team managers, first Southgate and now Mancini complaining about the 'limited' pool of players they have to pick from in their respective country's top divisions.
  16. Surprised Ralston wasn't already in given the doubts over Patterson. Glad to see Hyam finally get called up. I work with a Blackburn fan and he's always singing his praises.
  17. Looks like it could be Hendry that Hyam replaces as there's concerns he won't have recovered from his injury in time
  18. New doc up on the national team youtube channel following 4 players from the national setup who play in Italy; Christy Grimshaw, Josh Doig, Lana Clelland and Lewis Ferguson. Watch it here
  19. #SCO21s | Squad update: IN: Josh Adam, Kieron Bowie and Lewis Neilson. OUT: Ben Doak, Leon King and Connor McAvoy.
  20. I was a big fan of Liam Kelly and thought he was unlucky at QPR (their fans seemed to blame the defence more than him more often than not) but this season he's looked a shadow of what he was a year ago. Maybe his confidence has been blown with Motherwell being down where they are but he does seem to have gone backwards. The McCrorie situation is still the oddest one. I think he could be a good keeper for us and on the rare occasion he gets a chance for Rangers he seems to play well and then is cast aside as soon as Mclaughlin or McGregor is fit again. I'd really like him to leave this summer, especially since Beale has been very public about wanting to sign a new keeper and he's not given McCrorie a sniff.
  21. SFA site has 1 in 4 for U16 and 1 in 8 (4 starts) for U19. In the few U19 games I've watched, him and his Man City teammate Adam linked well together but also there was a lot of times where Mebude would beat his man, put a ball in the box and there'd be noone there. I think his decision making can sometimes be off, crossing when he should shoot himself or vice versa, but he has pace and skill which not a lot of our youngsters have.
  22. Doak has pulled out following his head injury for Liverpool U23s. Could be a big chance for Mebude to show what he can do at U21 level
  23. Does he qualify for them? I know his brother was born in England but wasn't sure if he was too. I went to watch the Man City youth side a month ago and he was a stand out player. Hope he gets loaned out soon to play some senior football and improve his game even more.
