  1. We do need to start getting our younger players more integrated into the senior side, even if it's just 2 or 3 in the squad or training with them for each of the next 4 games. Personally I'd like to see the likes of Billy Gilmour, Mikey Johnston, Allan Campbell, Ross McCrorie, Connor McClennan & George Johnston given a chance. The playoffs will probably be too soon for him but hopefully Turnbull can hit the ground running when he comes back from injury in the new year.
  2. Scotland should follow England's example by fast-tracking Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour into the senior squad, says Kenny Miller. Former Scotland striker Miller thinks England showed the way by introducing Gilmour's fellow 18-year-old and club-mate, Callum Hudson-Odoi. Gilmour made a six-minute Chelsea debut earlier this month. "I know him really well and I know what the boy's about, I know his abilities," Miller told BBC Scotland. "Billy Gilmour will be one of the best players in the national team once he gets there, there's no doubt about it." Miller was at Rangers as Gilmour came through the youth ranks before moving to Stamford Bridge in 2017. The midfielder has so far been restricted to Scotland Under-21 duty, playing in Thursday's 2-0 win over San Marino before missing Tuesday's fine 2-1 win away to Croatia through injury. "In days gone by, people said you had to go through the proper steps before becoming a full international," Miller said. "But look at England and what they have done in the last few years. "Callum Hudson-Odoi started an England game before he had started a Chelsea Premier League match." Miller recognised that the English winger "is an incredible talent who Bayern Munich are trying to buy for £30-40m" but pointed out that Gilmour had been included in Chelsea's squad for the Champions League group stage. "I think we could be getting Billy Gilmour in now and there's probably a few others," he said. "I know he's been away with a few camps training and it is a huge step - and especially without first-team football - but we need to get these guys in to progress. "England can do it. Wales have done it. Can we fast-track him? I also believe you have to have earned that right, but there are exceptions."
  3. The side is rumoured to be Marshall SOD Mulgrew Cooper Robbo McLean McTominay Snoddy. Christie. Fraser Phillips
  4. Not for the senior side but he’s captain of the U21. on loan at Portsmouth from Rangers. Can play RB, CB or holding midfield
  5. Should have just got it clear with his right foot. Not only do we seem to have an abundance of left footed players (as well as a right footed winger who prefers to play on the left) but they all seem incredibly reluctant to ever use their weaker foot. So many times we slowed down so Mulgrew/Cooper/Robertson/McGregor/McGinn/Christie could get it on their left foot
  6. Jack Harper came off the bench to play 32 mins for Alcorcon with them already 2-0 down but couldn't help them fight back.
  7. so top teams don't play with a 4 because they have top centre backs but we shouldn't play with a 4 because we don't have top centre backs....?
  8. Marshall O'Donnell Mulgrew Cooper Robertson McGinn McTominay McGregor Forrest McBurnie Fraser
  9. Killie manager worked with him at Chelsea so hopefully can get the best out of him.
  10. He just needs a move where he'll get football tbh. Only 1 sub appearance in 4 games so far this season.
  11. Berra said at the start of the season that Clarke had told him the door was still open if he performed well enough
  12. Grant Hanley is set to miss Scotland’s Euro 2020 double-header with Russia and Belgium. The Norwich star has a groin injury, leaving Steve Clarke with just Charlie Mulgrew and Liam Cooper in central defence. The Scotland boss could decide to call up someone such as Sheffield Wednesday defender David Bates who has been in past squads. It could even be an opportunity to hand a maiden call-up to highly-rated Heartscentre back Craig Halkett. Meanwhile, James Morrison insists he'll never give up on playing for Scotland is also determined to claim three extra caps. Many people believe he has 46 but Morrison is insistent he has more than that. He said: “I saw Frank Reilly at Snoddy’s wedding and he said I had 49 caps. I’ve been saying this to people for ages and no-one believes me. I’ll need to count it!” “I’d never give up playing for Scotland. I loved it. If I get playing and I get picked, I’d be over the moon.”
  13. Norwich manager said he'd be surprised if he was fit for the Scotland games
  14. Apparently had a fantastic game too according to their local paper
  15. Jack Hendry apparently going to Killie as part of the Taylor deal
  16. Seen a few comments from coaches saying he's equally good with either foot.
  17. No Hanley for Norwich today. If we do have a spare defender slot on top of replacing Hanley, I'd call up Halkett & Lindsay
  18. Considering Willian tends to play more as a forward, that makes Gilmour the only midfielder on Chelsea's bench.
  19. I was hoping that coach was Rodgers tbh
  20. His individual performances have been alright but the whole defence looks shaky as they all have no confidence in Butland
  21. Given the press in the past few days I get a feeling it might be Halkett.
  22. After all the hype of Harper being the first scot in however long to play in La Liga it's now Burke who'll take that crown. Wouldn't have predicted that at the start of the summer.
  23. Lindsay should be considered too. Stoke have been bad but individually he's been alright
  24. brief bits i've seen of him, he's nowhere near SOD or Palmer and they get slated on here
  25. Most players are advised not to say anything these days, much like Snoddy saying he hated seeing comments about him not being committed to Scotland but couldn't come out and speak against it. Most are just told to ignore it and keep their head down.
