  1. Watched Bannan run the show at the Ipro this afternoon. He did get all the time and space in the world however, and he makes Wednesday tick. Great range of passing. He never gave up and did a power of work tracking back. Fletcher went off with a bad head knock not long after coming on. Wouldnt be surprised if he was signed off with concussion for a few weeks.
  2. Does it every week. Keeps him slim.
  3. Think from memory it was 10 euros. Be prepared for a drop off and pickup on a roundabout. ........and a bit of a walk. No problem if your mobile, but a couple of guys struggled.
  4. Stayed there in may for the Italy game. Decent place to put your head down but not much going on at night. 5 mins walk to main street where Fat Harry's is. Brilliant kebab shop accross from Fat Harrys. Nice little bar if you go up the street from the hotel and take a first left. Its on a street corner across from the russian holiday agency. Beer was relatively cheap, 3 euros a pint in Fat Harry's. Nice walk in the morning along the promenade to Qwara and St Pauls bay to clear the head. Plenty of bars along the main street and along the prom. Enjoy, hope the football is better than in May.

    Euro 96

Your right about the apathy, the game in Greece was really poorly attended by the TA. Duncan Ferguson played in one of his early games that night and all we did was lump it up to him. It didnt work...(Rambo v Costa Rica 6 years earlier was the same) Looking back, it was the only qualifier I went to, but because we joined the TC we got tickets for the 3 games in the finals. Imagine the commotion if that happened now.!! Just hope the next generation get to see us at a finals at some point, although the thought of Russia and Qatar doesnt really appeal.

    Euro 96

We got lucky and joined the travel club for our first away trip to Athens a part of qualifying for Euro 96. Never been so cold in my life at a game.... Seem to remember that being part of the TC gave you access to all 3 games in England. Birmingham for the Dutch and Swiss games was brilliant. London was good pre match but horrible after as the idiots from the pubs started looking for easy pickings. We had 4 nights in Nottingham to try out the theory of 4 birds to every bloke. Apart from that afternoon in london I couldnt fault the welcome everyone gave us. It was an exciting time to be 3 25 year old lads on the lash in a country that embraced the tournament.
  7. Eventually booked flights and accommodation today. Also bought a ticket off maltafa.com. You can buy South stand tickets in the Scotland end, loads of tickets left.
  8. As a young lad at that time I used to go to games v the old firm expecting to win, however games v Utd were much more nervy affairs. Loved games at Tannadice on that steep terrace by the side of the pitch. Games at Pittodrie were invariably dull and hard fought.
  9. Car and bus travelling from North and South will be ok, but for people using trains its useless. Bus from the railway station about 30 mins if its traffic free. Stonehaven and Inverurie station and laying on free buses might be a better option for the club. It not walkable from the city centre unless youve got a spare 1.5 hours each way.
  10. Ive made the same mistake. Thought that tickets wouldn't be a problem and waited too long before I booked flights and accommodation. Looks like Malta.com is the best way to buy tickets. Admit that its my fault but the bloke from the SSC couldnt of been less helpful and informative.
  11. Played well. Lumped it forward when under pressure but picked a pass out when required and stayed composed all game. Snodgrass did a shift defensively.
  12. I guess it depends on the play off games. He's really came back to form this season after his injury, and gives Scotland something I dont think they currently have. As we dont have proven strikers, a midfielder with an eye for a goal and energy to burn should at least be in the squad. Last season he was a yard off the pace but never really got injury free. Id have him in my midfield for the qualifiers coming up. Given a run in the team I reckon the fans would be surprised how good he is.
  13. Aye, cant disagree with that. With the right system and mobile players playing off him he's effective. When he starts to play well Russell and Bryson thrive on his service.
  14. Chris Martin has had a good 2nd half to the season. Main reason has been Bryson back fit and showing the form he had 2 years ago. Russell has also hit a bit of form. Was very impressed with Barry Bannan 2 weeks ago at the ipro, ran the show and scored a screamer. Snodgrass looked sharp and hungry for Hull last month, Andy Robertson was poor before being subbed and Mcgregor had no chance with the 4 goals.
