  1. The 12:30pm ko time is a killer for fans that have to travel any distance. Its the worst of the TV slots. It's the first semi final I've missed in ages. Train prices from the East Midlands to Glasgow have doubled since covid and there's definitely less trains running now. The earliest I could have got into Central station was 12:15pm, and would have been panicking about catching the 5pm one home. A 20min delay on route going home would have meant getting stranded in Crewe or Preston. Your right, too many hidings v Celtic in recent memory didn't help, plus the League cup final surrender really scunnered me.
  2. @mccaughey85 Apologies, can't quote you for some reason. His form dipped massively after Christmas. To be fair, the whole atmosphere around the club regarding Rodgers was getting worse by the week, and the whole squad suffered. As I said, he's a confidence player. I'm hoping Steve can get a tune out of him.
  3. I'm split over this one. Seen him numerous times at the King Power and he was awful last season. Id question his desire when the going got tough. However, when his confidence is up he is quick, skillful and will score a goal. Out and out left winger, does he fit into the current setup?
  4. Went to my local in Leicestershire to watch the game. It didn't take long for the fans to turn against their team, maybe 10 mins. To shed 50 points to the French at home will hurt 😁
  5. @Fairbairn Sorry, can't get the quote function to work. It was probably my own fault, I went for the cheap seats last week. The last time I was there was a Carl Froch fight and I paid a bit more for the floor level seats. It looked a fair bit quieter down there. Mind you, the price difference was £100.
  6. I went to the Leigh Wood v Lara fight last week in Nottingham. Far too many lads had clearly been out all day for the Forest City game and carried it over to the boxing. The atmosphere was far too edgy to enjoy and there was a massive punch up about 4 rows behind me between Nottinghams finest...... I thought Leigh Wood was ahead and getting on top until Lara landed that left. If the proposed Wood Warrington fight at either Elland Road or City ground goes ahead it will be carnage.
  7. Indian politics spilling over into the UK. It's being portrayed as Hindu v Sikhs and Muslims. Those closer to the situation are saying its an extremist group called Hindutva that are stoking tensions against the Muslim population in the city. Apparently it's mirroring the situation in India with Modi at the moment. There is currently an understanding amongst locals that all religions live and work together. However, the locals are saying that Hindutva are being shipped in from other citys to cause trouble, last week it was traced to a bus load from Birmingham. Its been suggested Manchester and Bradford buses in previous weeks. Cricket seems to have been the excuse for the tensions to rise. Local communities are asking for more direct action from Leics police but they look to be on "contain and move on" mode.
  8. I've suffered in the past. Listening to the radio works for me. Preferably a talk station like 5 Live or Talksport on low volume helps me drift off. Over the counter Nytol worked as well but made me feel like crap the next day. Easier said than done, but half the battle is not to get too stressed or anxious prior to bedtime. If she gets a half decent sleep soon, repeat the same pre bed routine for a while so she does it without thinking. It's a horrible thing to suffer, but it will get better. 👍
  9. Went to see the gentleman in the cinema and thought it was brilliant. Watched Snatch last week and it was ok. Both far superior to the Tarantino hollywood pish I lost 3 hours watching at the Odeon.
  10. Cocu didnt fancy him at the start of the season and basically froze him out. He got his chance as injuries took their toll and played really well. 1st player on the teamsheet for those 7 games until he did his hamstring about a month ago. Shame really, he'd won over the fans and the management team but he faces another month out.
  11. Hi Davy, I'm on the Limmasol bus to the game. Any chance I can jump on a Larnaca bus after the game? Cheers
  12. Paid this afternoon, Scott M. Cheers
  13. Brilliant, Ill pay via paypal tomorrow if thats ok. Ill probobly need a ticket as well depending how far down the points ladder the allocation goes. Can you provisionally add me to the +300 extra allocation you are hoping to get via the Cypriot FA?
  14. Hi Davy, Room for 1 more on the bus? Cheers
  15. Ice bar in Lindos shows football. I managed to get them to scan the channels to find an Aberdeen game in Europe a few years ago.
  16. Taking out the Celtic full back with a fully fledged lunge / kick. Silly boy, Gerrard didnt look impressed. Madden had a good game. TV replays showed that Jack got away with a potential red in the 1st half.
  17. The truth is the majority of fans in the EPL and EFL dont really care about other clubs in trouble. All they are concerned about is their own club and who the next big signing is so that they can mock their rivals and dream about becoming a mid table EPL club. Take Derby for instance. Losing the best part of £30m over the past 2 seasons but the fans praise the owner because he circumvents the FFP rules. They dont see the big picture that the club doesnt live within their means. If you look at the yearly accounts they have been structured to ensure as much smoke and mirrors as possible. Some fans stick their head above the parapet and question the finances, but get shouted down by the ones with their head in the sand as 'not real fans'. There was talk this season of reigning in the spending, then there was a last minute £10m splurge on an Arsenal reserve who's never played in the 1st team, signing Cocu on a 4 year deal as manager, and then announcing Rooney (vanity signing by the owner) This season, the cheapest ticket is £31 at Pride park, and the WBA game, live on sky, was £38. Theyve also stuck the price of beer up. £4.50 a Carling....... At those prices they can whistle.
  18. Hope for your sake he's fit. Arrived at Derby in January, played a few games (pretty anonymous) and got injured never to be seen again.
  19. Ive been ok for the Europa league games this season via BBC sounds. I searched for Sportsound and it took me to https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_scotland_mw Not sure if it will work for midweek league games though.
  20. I see Charlie Gilmour has been released by Arsenal and joined Norwich on a 2 year deal.
  21. He had to bring Marriott on for Bennett and got lucky with the keeper making a mess of it. I sat through the 1st leg bored to tears at the ineptitude of the tactics. Again, in the final, he keeps Marriott on the bench and lets Villa dictate play until its too late.
  22. The media love in with Lampard managed to gloss over the fact he did no worse or better than Rowett. He basically lived off that 4 2 win over Leeds where he got lucky with injuries in the game and it forced his hand. When things are going well he's a media dream, but mid season when they struggled and he came under scrutiny he was nowhere to be seen. He's got some serious PR people behind him.
