Went there with Hearts in 2000. Nothing out by the stadium apart from the Mercedes Benz museum!
Stay near the pedestrian precinct opposite the station for beers.
Not the most exciting place as others have said.
Get to On the Rocks at Bloubergstrand for dinner, the best view of Table Mountain you'll see.
I'd also recommend getting out to Chapman's Peak, Hout Bay and Camps Bay (Blues Restaurant) to get out of the city.
Loads to eat/drink/see at the Waterfront but worth spending a night in Long Street.
If you have time and like wine, Stellenbosch tours are worth it, worth visiting.
Berlin is a wonderful place.
With a bit of planning and luck with fixtures you can do 3 games in 3 cities over a weekend, if you are happy to get on the train for a wee while.
My issue is more with the elaborate launch for what is essentially a bright pink t-shirt for a team not going to France next year.
The home top is at best alright but the white sleeves are not very Scotland for me.
On a positive note the training stuff in dark blue and red is quality, that will do me for all future trips.
Brilliant work Paul, well done.
Might want to look at the pick up times, Faro as predicted was a tad shambolic with folk late for buses, traffic getting out of town etc.
Having said that, never been to Malta so will leave it to the experts!
Sad to report the death of Jimmy Murray today at the grand age of 82.
Jimmy was of course the first Scotland player to score in a World Cup Finals, v Yugoslavia in 1958.
Jimmy remains the only Hearts player ever to score in a world cup finals tournament too.
A gentlemen who attended Tynecastle regularly, always just wanted to talk football, any football.
Thoughts with his family, RIP Jimmy.
I'm going to book an airport transfer from Faro Airport to Albufeira (Strip / Oura Beach) arriving off the 6.30am Ryanair flight from Edinburgh on the Friday.
Flying solo so if anyone on the same flight wants to share to keep the cost down give me a shout and I'll organise.
I've been singing Proclaimers songs for years but I have absolutely no intention of ever walking 500 miles never mind 500 more. Its a song, if it inspires the players it gets sung.
This isn't just about ticket prices.
Personally I'm going to Alloa v Hearts with at least 6 other guys who would normally be at a Scotland home game. Club over country this time round, surprised and disappointed that I am unable to do both.
