It's quite simple. Deduct points whether the clubs involved did all they could or not. I don't give a shit if they tried their best - their best wasn't good enough. Once points start getting deducted it will stop overnight. This applies to ANY club whose support is guilty of sectarian singing or chanting.

I'm struggling to see how it can cost much more than £200 to be honest! Hiring a hotel suite for an hour or two and a few flasks of coffee and some biscuits? Maybe £300 if the coffee is decent and the biscuits of the chocolate variety?

And this in my view is a huge part of the problem. I'm not making excuses for any bigoted or racist behaviour both of which are deplorable, but the general treatment and near criminalisation of football fans attending matches must have some bearing on their behaviour surely? Treat people like animals and they will behave as such. Like I say it's not excusing unacceptable behaviour but might go some way to explaining the lack of willingness to accept that their behaviour is unacceptable and needs to change.This applies to all kinds of poor behaviour and not just sectarian.
