  1. Oh, what have I started? Haha haha. I probably picked it up during my time working in London, we had a decent Essex contingent in the office as I remember. Don't really recall hearing or using it much in Scotland before I went down there. But I've seen it a lot more since I finished in London too. Either way, I find it's a word that describes these morons pretty well...
  2. I'd amend that slightly. They presumably want him suspended, make the case that the SPFL fucked up and get the season voided. If Doncaster getting sacked gets chucked in as a Brucey Bonus then so much the better. Without defending Doncaster in any way here, Rangers see him being sacked as collateral damage and if it is part of the price of getting the season declared null and void then they won't lose any sleep over it. Id like to see the back of Doncaster too, I just don't think he's a very good leader for our game, but I want him gone for fair reasons not having been caught in the crossfire of Rangers' obsession with voiding their season. There is zero chance that Rangers has any altruistic reasons for their action and it will be costing them money they can ill afford. They've never had the greater good of the game at heart in whichever incarnation you want to look at. They haven't started now.
  3. I'm still struggling to understand why Rangers are so upset at the lower leagues' season ending early and the clubs being paid their prize money. When did they become the moral guardians for ensuring squeaky clean fair play across all four leagues? You'd almost think that they just wanted to create huge fuss and bluster around the whole thing to try and prevent the Premiership season being ended early too and that they were using the lower league clubs' situation to further those ends. Perish the thought.
  4. But they did state that they would furnish the clubs with the evidence that claim to hold by today, which is the timeline I'm talking about.
  5. My thoughts too. If the evidence was as explosive and damning as they were making out then I fail to see what still needs working on. My guess is that what they are actually working on is how to withdraw the accusations which they now realise have zero foundation and they have no evidence to support whatsoever without losing too much face. Now that will require some work.
  6. Looking at their stuff on their website, the prices are extortionate. £95 for a pair of shorts? I am thinking this is not going to be good news for Gers fans.
  7. Didn't work out too badly last time you had one of those...
  8. They're all taking a break... Not saying Tommy is doing this, or even criticising him if he is, but that is an oft used excuse/reason that is given before then taking on a new job in the not too distant future. Time will tell in this case, but regardless I think it should be a case of good luck to him and I'm sure most Saints fans won't begrudge him moving on if that's what happens. He's done a pretty decent job at McDiarmid overall.
  9. Sad news indeed. Watching some clips of him and although he certainly rattled into a number of opponents and left a fair few in a heap, what really struck me was when he got booked or spoken to by the ref he seemed to accept it no questions, no complaints and none of the histrionics you see from today's pampered lot. He knew his strengths and he knew when he overstepped the mark (which appears to be quite often!)
  10. It would be very interesting indeed if they were to call Budge’s bluff on this and agree on a 14 team top division with two up and no relegation but from the end of next season. This is the way reconstruction normally happens ie all teams know at the start of the season that there’s two up and none down before a ball is kicked. If Budge accepted that then we’d know she was genuinely serious about introducing reconstruction for the good of the Scottish game, but if not then it would confirm that it’s merely a smokescreen and was all only ever about saving Hearts’ skin.
  11. I’m pretty certain all the nonsense coming from Ibrox over the past few days is designed for exactly that and nothing else - to try and have the season declared null and void. All the statements, the “numerous clubs have told us”, the supposed whistleblowers, the calls for Doncaster to be suspended, the demands for inquires into this and that, the general language used and the evidence they claim to hold but refuse to release despite it supposedly being a smoking gun and all in all the general fuss and bluster emanating from the place. It’s all designed to be thrown around with the intention of embarrassing Scottish football and in the hope that eventually enough club chairmen will get fed up of the whole carry on, throw their arms up in the air and give up thus paving the way for the season to be dumped and declared null and void as any attempt to come to a sensible outcome just won’t be worth the ongoing hassle. There will never be true consensus and Rangers will never agree to anything other than N&V. All this support of Hearts’, Partick’s and Stranraer’s concerns are nothing but a smokescreen which they are using to further their own ends.
  12. Which would be exactly the same as voting against. Why fucking bother?
  13. Correct. Saying he’s “in hospital with Coronavirus “ is plainly misleading albeit I suppose technically correct since he is in hospital and he does have Coronavirus. But the inference is one which leads people down the wrong path I’m afraid.
  14. Very possibly and wouldn’t surprise me. But whatever the reason, it’s very wrong.
  15. They're wrong. Ten have voted in favour in the Premiership and 15 in Leagues One and Two - enough to pass. Seven have voted in favour in the Championship but one club has yet to vote. One question which needs to be answered - why has the votes cast so far been publicly announced when there is still one club to vote. That is frankly ridiculous, whatever the outcome.
  16. There is no perfect solution to this and the proposal seems reasonably sensible to me. Call the three lower leagues now with current positions final. There's no way there will be games before mid July at the absolutely most optimistic and many of the lower league clubs simply won't survive that long. The proposal states that the Premiership will be played to a finish if at all possible and only if that becomes impossible will the current positions be deemed final. Ideally the season should be played to a conclusion but it's looking more and more unlikely as every day passes. The only clubs against this seem to be those who occupy the bottom positions, plus Falkirk, and it's obvious why. If Hearts were second bottom on goal difference they'd be taking a very different stance. Rangers are only against it because they are desperate for the season to be declared null and void and their only lingering hope of this is for this proposal to fall. At least Partick and Stranraer are open about the reasons for their opposition. For Rangers and Hearts to try and pretend it's about protecting all the clubs is a joke. Those clubs who vote against the proposals must be put on the spot and forced to declare publicly their alternatives and what final outcome they are looking for and why - and I don't mean Rangers' just restating their crazy proposal about giving interest free loans offset against potential prize money in which some clubs might find themselves having to repay sums over and above what they end up winning. That's just a smokescreen to stop the possibility of current places potentially being deemed final from being agreed and to keep the option of null & void on the table. How do Rangers and Hearts really want the season dealt with if the games cannot be played? I think we already know the answer to that.
  17. "It’s very easy as Rangers fans and unionists to take the flack and to lie down, but our cry has been since 1688 and always will be ‘No Surrender’." Putting the entire Sevco/2012 debate to one side, it’s certainly news to me that Rangers have existed since 1688! Where do Rangers drag these utter morons from and, perhaps more puzzling, why on earth do they do it? Surely the decent Rangers fans, who in my view are in the vast majority, are acutely embarrassed by these idiots and just as puzzled as I am as to why their club continue to have the likes of this guy involved? People like that with openly bigoted views just besmirch the club’s good name.
  18. A good thing to be fair God knows what damage the SFA could cause if they were encouraged to think

    final

You’d be forgiven for thinking so...
  20. You can be absolutely certain Liverpool fans will celebrate, it’ll be their first title in 30 years. Celtic fans too as doing nine in a row again is a big thing, but would’ve been even bigger if this was the one for ten. Especially for “the” game which could secure the title. Much preferable to complete the season once this is over and we can safely get fans back in the stadiums again. You’re right in that the “behind closed doors scenario” is riddled with problems not just connected with health but also financially - clubs are even less likely to survive a total lack of income from these games than they are from them being delayed. Also factor in refunds for tickets already sold plus partial refunds for season tickets and it really is a non starter. Looks like that is now the case. Wisely. This would be the nuclear option and hopefully given short shrift immediately. It’s easy for clowns like Karren Brady to come out with shite like this when West Ham are sitting two points above the drop. The fallout would be huge and the game would be embroiled in all sorts of legal action for years. Ending the season prematurely and using average points earned so far is also a very undesirable outcome but marginally better than effectively declaring that the season never happened. 80% of it has been completed and you can’t just wipe it all from the record. Similarly that would potentially trigger massive refunds for season tickets, match tickets, Sky, BT, BBC as they would argue with some merit that if the season never happened they never got what they paid for. Now that the Euros have been postponed surely the only feasible answer now is to resume when it is safe to do so, with perhaps a small handful of warm up mini pre-season type matches to get players up to fitness as it could be dangerous to their health and fitness to pile straight back in after weeks maybe months off. Next season can be truncated to accommodate if necessary. In Scotland we could have two sets of games H&A (22 each) then a split then two more sets H&A (10 each) making 32 total thus freeing up 6 match days (which is only a couple less than we are currently needing to fit in from this season) with the added bonus that every team plays the exact same set of fixtures as those they are directly competing with.
  21. Not officially from UEFA, but from the Norwegian FA instead. No reason to question it though and so almost certainly this will be true. Also, the fact that it is probably the most sensible solution would reaffirm that view further.
  22. Boris Johnson or Donald Trump would be an improvement on Traynor. The bar isn't very high.
  23. Aye yer buggered if you and your Mrs have four kids. Do you have to sacrifice one to the corona gods?
