  1. I heard from a mate who got it from his mate who knows somebody that went to Gibraltar that the `Wee r`hard as rock team` from Gibraltar are seriously considering an ambush outside the ground
  2. The `Well were only on their 3rd manager when I started following them, can anybody beat that ? with any team ? http://www.thesackrace.com/teams/motherwell
  3. Only here as I thought I'd wandered into a debate on whether it was Gilzean or Jordan
  4. Went in Jan 2012 and going back in Jan 2016, great country. When we went eating & drinking was reasonable and the exchange rate was 13 Rand to £1 and now it`s about 19 so we should be quids in. Top tips, get your trip to Robben Island booked in advance and you can also save an hour q`ing for the Table Top cable car by booking that in advance. Take the hop on hop off tourist bus and do a circuit in that to get a feel of the layout of the city, it will also take you to a few of the beach resorts as well. Use the bus on the day you visit Table Top as it drops and picks up right by the entrance to the cable car, this saves you trying to find a parking spot as you can end up parked half a mile away. Lots to choose from for eating out but we went here twice http://www.labohemebistro.co.za/ http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g312659-d1952427-Reviews-La_Boheme-Cape_Town_Central_Western_Cape.html Their 3 course menu was about £12
  5. Just need to find a bar in Faro that will show the Samoa game
  6. A nice young lady from Arbroath hoping to buy her Dad a 60th birthday present, hope somebody out there can help
  7. I`ve got 2 x North Stand - Row G, seats next to each other. Cost £42 quid each Will sell to whoever makes it easiest for me ie transfer the money for both tickets and I'll post the tickets. I live near London so meeting up in Scotland is not really an option. PM me and I'll send you a pic of the tickets For recent recruits to the board it might be worth mentioning that the North Stand tends to wear blue and many shades of tartan
  8. I enjoyed it but then I'm old enough to remember the old stuff. Worth tuning in just to see J`Anna Jacoby
  9. On that day I played in a 7 a side tournament at Whitecraigs for Lanark and we went out in the first round, got changed and headed home and found ourselves driving past Hampden, we parked up literally beside the ground and as it was half time the gates were open and we just walked in and were almost pitchside at the end that Celtic were defending. I remember the McNeil v Gray battle but not much else, was my first ever cup final and I didn't go again till the `Well v United 1991
  10. Apologies, at my age the mind plays tricks, the player Dougie was referring to was Graeme Payne
  11. A great mate of mine, Dougie Fraser ex Port Glasgow captain was in the Scotland under 18 team at the same time as Sturrock, Gray & Milne and he reckons Milne was the best player in the team
  12. Thanks, just didn't want to head for The Albion in Islington or Hammersmith Road..............
  13. Is this the right Albion ? http://www.thealbionlondon.com/
  14. Lanark - trains from Glasgow Central every 30 minutes, takes about 50 minutes. Visit the ruins of St Kentigerns where William Wallace was married, go to the town centre and see the big statue of him and opposite that next to the Clydesdale bank is the site of where his house was. You can go down Castlegate towards the ruins of Lanark Castle where he took the English on but not much to see other than the bowling club which now stands on the site There is a pub close by the statue called The Wallace Cave named for the cave he hid in after taking on the English, but the cave itself is a few miles away. Two miles by taxi to New Lanark, now a world heritage centre, by the river Clyde. Founded in 1786 and still looking pretty much as it did over 200 years ago, you can go to the visitor centre in the old mill then take a walk alongside the Clyde ( it`s a proper walkway ) up to the Bonnington Falls which are among the biggest waterfalls in the country. Last train to Glasgow is 22.51
  15. We spent 2 nights in Florence and covered most of the central area, it is a walking city and most of what you want to see is in the central area, on that trip we flew into Pisa and took the train to Florence, as easy as walk out the terminal, turn left and there`s the station. Train time was about an hour and Florence station is on the edge of the central area. Had been to Pisa 30 years earlier, you only really go to see the tower. Rome we did as a separate 2 night trip and covered a lot of ground, was worth pre booking a Colosseum guided tour as it saved q`ing for an hour as the guide takes you right in. Other trip we did was in and out of Milan Malpensa airport and picking up the train to Lake Como ( about an hour ) and staying in Como and doing the lake trip to Bellagio. Stunning scenery
  16. Ask here http://www.capetowncaledoniansociety.org.za/
  17. We`ve covered Cape Town as a destination over the past few years, I was there in 2012 and remember there being a few resident tambers down there when I asked for travel advice on the board. There is wall to wall coverage of the English Premier League on TV and Radio down there, far more than terestial media at home, but whether the same applies to Internationals...not sure
  18. Went to see Page & Plant about 25 years ago in the hope that they`d do all the Led Zep favourites. They didn't
  19. Wasn't somebody talking about planning a march from Glasgow Central to the airport ?
  20. Just had a look at Gibraltar FA ticket site and I reckon they`ve sold between 650 - 675 tickets in the away end and there`s at least 1,000 still available. SSC tickets appear to be selling at the current rate of 180 a day
  21. Used to go regularly in a former ( corporate paid for ) life, what sticks in my mind was being 32 and being id`d in almost every bar we went in. Lesson learnt was go drinking with your passport
  22. 5 of our party are on an early doors Southend - Faro flight on the Saturday. They all share an uncommon interest in Queen of the South and West Ham, could be why the rest of us fly from Luton...
  23. Do you intend to travel to Faro for our Euro Qualifier against Gibraltar on Sunday 11 October? 84% Yes 5% No 11% Haven't decided
