  1. Aye Rangers still on top with a man doon!
  2. Dreadful challenge, studs up. Might have got away with it sometimes but always running the risk of a red. Odds on more than one dismissal now...
  3. Oooofff shocker! Smith oot for the Killie game now
  4. Yep definitely lower division fitba. Rangers looking more likely...
  5. Those odds on Rangers look better now...
  6. I think too many are maybe judging their views on the role of deputy FM by the previous incumbent. It's previously been held by such heavyweights as Jim Wallace and Nicol Stephen. Looking at it from a UK level you've got to go back to the early 1950s to find a deputy PM who went on to run the country...

    Hoolies

We stopped playing England all the time....
  8. I can see it being an "i" like version of the Herald with a lot of common articles. Having a pro-independence editorial policy doesn't mean the content has to be overtly politically biased...
  9. A fairly significant reshuffle. MacAskill and Russell gone, quite a few new roles for others. Interesting to hear Dennis Canavan on the radio there saying more important than the gender balance is the fact that the majority (all?) of the cabinet were state school educated, as opposed to the Westminster equivalent, and therefore it is much more representative of society as a whole...
  10. Could be a smart move, given the Sunday Herald's circulation increase this year. As a frequent reader of the "i" I'd say there's a definite gap in the market for a condensed Scottish "broadsheet" newspaper. It may even appeal to non independence supporters. And the fact it's backed by the Herald should give it quite a leg-up in terms of retail outlets...

"Que sera sera...." (we'll leave that one til we look like qualifying)
  12. I doubt many African teams will be arranging foreign friendlies so soon after the Cup of Nations...
  13. Most of it isn't that old, just built in a neo-gothic style by the Victorians. At the time it must've seemed like Disneyland...

Stick on STV+1 in a few minutes for a fly on the wall film of our Engurlish friends drinking in the Bristol Bar...
  15. Just saw the report on Newsnight there. A perfect opportunity to shut the place down and move it to Manchester or somewhere a bit more central...
  16. Interesting to see that this thread started in September with Emily Thornberry getting dogs abuse!
  17. The damage you can do with one post! https://twitter.com/EmilyThornberry/status/535450556199075840 Another example of the soul of the Labour Party being lost (possibly applies to the Tony Blair thread)....
  18. Tickets were just a couple of quid though. If they'd been around £20 this week they would've been like gold dust too...
  19. Long train journey back after a sesh. That's like Glasgow - Aberdeen!
  20. Snoddy is one player we are really missing, but no he'll be out for the entire season.
  21. Was quite a good watch. Didn't realise Salmond and Taylor were students together...
