  1. I've seen nothing from Vukic yet that shows he's any better than what we already have. And that's saying something.
  2. He was my favourite Scotland player at the time and I'd wanted us to sign him for years. I thought he'd be the new Richard Gough for us but for the year and a bit he was with us he was just a bit "meh" and didn't seem the same dominant, aggressive centre half I'd watch play for Scotland.
  3. That's exactly when I'm going!
  4. Let downs at Rangers? I don't think I've got enough time to type them all out. Guivarch, Salenko, Van Vossen, Boli, Ferguson (Dunc), Snelders, Rozental, Prodan, Thern, Bjorklund, Hendry, Ritchie, Capucho, Emerson etc etc etc!
  5. It must have been hiding behind the snow and rain when I was there!
  6. Again I'd say the Northern Quarter. Loads of cracking bars up there and live music venues too. it's got "trendy" bars as well as loads of more traditional pubs and studenty places. Odd Bar and Dry Bar are 2 that I seem to remember having a good night in!
  7. Head to the Northern Quarter rather than the Deansgate area which is full of chain pubs and hen/stag nights. Avoid The Printworks like the plague for the same reason.
  8. Unless it's in between the posts and under the bar it's counted as off target.
  9. I watched The Drop last night. One of James Gandolfini's last movies and he basically plays Tony Soprano in it. The film itself was pretty good with another excellent turn by Tom Hardy.
  10. Pffft. Imagine celebrating winning one of the diddy leagues. What a riddy.....
  11. To narrow down my 3 earlier selections I would say Brian Laudrup. He was the first footballer I was ever really in awe of and he was miles ahead of anyone else playing Scotland at that time. He practically glided (glode?) across the park and made everything look so effortless. You could almost guarantee when he got the ball that he was going to beat his man or pick out a player with an inch perfect pass. I remember a particular game against Thistle (I think) at Ibrox where he skinned the young boy playing full back that much that he had to pay to get back in! The 5-1 Scottish Cup final against Hearts was easily the best performance I've ever seen from a Rangers player. It says it all when Gordon Durie scores the first hat trick in a final for 25 years yet the match is named after someone else!
  12. Come on Eddard, they'll be waiting till it's confirmed Rangers haven't won the league before they announce restructuring to guarantee we're in the top league next year. They can't live without us!
  13. Ex police officer and current director of a human rights organisation! You couldn't make it up!!
  14. I'm not sure but there are loads of different versions of it floating about online claiming to be talking about various different things. A quick Youtube search and I think this might be the original, the comments seem to suggest it's something about working in a restaurant.
  15. Loads of Aberdeen games in the 90s. My mate was a Dandie and didn't get up to Pittodrie often so anytime they played in the Glasgow area I'd go along with him if Rangers weren't at home. One that sticks in my mind is a game at Parkhead that was abandoned after about half an hour because of fog! Was also at St Mirren's 87 semi and final although I being a Linwood boy I wasn't really neutral there and was routing for the Buds.
  16. My only experience was at the Etihad and they sold food and beer at the same kiosks.
  17. Something else that occurred to me is the impact selling booze in the concourses would have on the staff that work in the kiosks. I can only really speak for Ibrox but the majority of the staff that work in the kiosks look to be 16 or 17 year old kids earning a bit of pocket money. Selling booze would mean these kids wouldn't be able to be employed or would have to be laid off which is a bit shit.
  18. When I was a teen with a bit of speed about me my record for the 100m was just over 12 seconds. I was always quite proud of that given the world record at the time was just under 10! It would now take me about 12 minutes!
