  1. GTA, I have e-mailed a couple of coach companies just to see what they can offer.
  2. I would be willing to drive from Brussels to Metz and return if I could muster 3 others. cost would be about €30 plus fuel. Would get into Metz at 8 at night rather than 11. Anyone interested, reply here and PM me.
  3. Booked last night. Edi - Brussels, Friday afternoon, back on the Sunday night flight. £86 return. Looking at options from Brussels to Metz. Bus is €30 return but takes over 4 hours. Travelling solo but would consider driving if anyone fancies sharing the cost.
  4. Click on the link. if that work, bus from the airport via Luxembourg airport. €30 or €40 return depending on time. takes 4 hours mind you.
  5. On the 14:00 flight from Edinburgh and searching the best route from Brussels to Metz and came across this. €30 return. https://www.flibco.com/booking/step_tour?utf8=%E2%9C%93&booking%5Bstep%5D=step_destination&booking%5Bbus_connection_group_id%5D=&observer%5Bfaker%5D=0&observer%5Bfaker%5D=1&booking%5Btwo_way%5D=true&booking%5Boutbound_departure_stop_id%5D=15&booking%5Boutbound_arrival_stop_id%5D=5&booking%5Boutbound_departure_date%5D=03.06.2016&booking%5Boutbound_time_value%5D=16%3A00&booking%5Boutbound_time_type%5D=departure&booking%5Binbound_departure_date%5D=05.06.2016&booking%5Binbound_time_value%5D=12%3A00&booking%5Binbound_time_type%5D=departure&booking%5Bnum_adults%5D=1&booking%5Bnum_infants%5D=0
  6. I was in Icmeler about 6 years ago then Antalya 3 years ago. Antalya basically has two main touristy areas, Konyalti beach and Lara beach. Lara beach side is where all the golf resorts are but we were at Konyalti beach so didn't actually see Lara. The beach at Konyalti is stoned and you have to cross a very busy dual carriage way to get to it from the hotels. Our hotel had a tunnel. british tourists tend to head to Lara beach. I found this out to our cost when we discovered we were the only British people in our hotel. There were loads of Arabs And Russians, both races equally as ignorant as each other. Antalya old town is excellebt. Lots of wee alleys with bazaars, restaurants and bars, well worth a visit. if I was going back to Turkey, I would pick Icmeler every time.
  7. For a fantastic meal for a special occasion, try here :- http://www.barakarestaurant.hu/ Best I've ever had. We done the tasting menu with wine pairing. Not cheap but sublime.
  8. Any of the young pups heading over ? Or any of us OAP s Let me know.
  9. Thanks Gigolo, some super tips and info there. We are staying in the Hilton athenee, quite close to the old town.
  10. Unfortunately booked the hotel in Bucharest before giving it too much research so limited to a day trip to Transylvania. The day trip visits most of the places you list above but it will just be in & oot I suppose. If I'd looked into it earlier, I would have spent a couple of days in Brasov.
  11. Heading off to Bucharest with the Mrs for a few days. Anyone got any tips? Planning a day trip to Transylvania but any other must dos?
  12. Stayed for a couple of nights on the way back from Croatia a couple of years back. As Wubs said, Nice enough place but been to a lot better. What did take me by surprise was the price of things, it's a fairly expensive place.
  13. The team stayed here last time we played there (4-6-0 game) We were in Jury's inn, just around the corner. Stayed in the Hilton when there for the wife's 40th. I watched the Ukraine 3-1 game there. All the snobby feckers in the hotel lobby were wondering why I was jumping around the bar like Feckin eejit.
  14. On the March weekend that the friendlies are to be played, the fat bitch is performing in Glasgow. Not Robbie Williams this time but Adele. This won't affect the venue but hotel prices have rocketed. and Glasgow will be over run by over hyped, pished up wummin..
  15. A Saturday afternoon, 3pm kick off would be nice (and nostalgic)
  16. Shocking news. Life means very little over there. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3355398/Arnold-Peralta-former-Rangers-midfielder-shot-dead-native-Honduras-aged-26.html
  17. If your flight is over 3 hours late arriving at your destination, you are entitled to a €250 compensation. The Mrs and me were delayed on a flight from Aberdeen to gatwick over the summer. Easy jet compensated us within a couple of weeks. More surprisingly though, the Mrs was delayed on a Flybe/Loganair flight from Orkney to Aberdeen over two years ago. We were able to trace the date and flight number because she sarcastically photographed her voucher offering her £3 off any item in the cafe and still had it in her phone. I fired off an e-mail chasing the compensation an Lo and behold am now £180 better off. Under EU law you can go back six years to claim flight disruption compensation. There is a website that has every flight arrival time going back years.
  18. Was in Budapest and Vienna with the Mrs in August. If you have the choice, go for Budapest. It is an excellent city, one of the best I have visited. Vienna City centre is impressive but outwith the centre, it was very drab and quite run down. It is also a lot more expensive than Budapest. Trains from both cities to Bratislava are very regular and cheap.
  19. That's me. A lot more than phone lost. Dignity, self esteem, self respect and probably a few years of life expectancy.
  20. It looked quite shambolic to me. Never geared up for the numbers that were there. Seen the beer queue and never bothered. Went to find the lavvy and the queues there were the same. Just went into the stadium for pees and pints (it was hard to tell the difference, mind you)
  21. We'll be an attractive opposition for some after the Euro 16 group draws. With everyone else qualifying apart from us ( ) the teams that they draw will see us as good warm up opposition because of the way we play.
